The motor and transmission are really refined. Bosch fuel injection is flawless. Starts great when cold. Gauges fog up for no reason. No reserve in tank. Foot pegs are hard to get used to.
The oil cooler is standard equipment on the Interceptor and a must for all air-cooled twins. Also, the Interceptor's 6-speed gearbox is smooth and positive. Great value for the money.
Oh I'm very well aware of that, and it's super convenient for doing so. I miss the days when most motorcycles had them, and I use mine both for working purposes as well as to make a more stable parking situation when I'm on surfaces that don't like side stands ;-)
I’ve been riding for 26 years, cruisers, dual sports, tourers, sport bikes, and I’ve test ridden a couple RE models. They’re a blast to ride. I’m thinking of adding a Continental GT to the stable.
I am getting old and I have gone from sports bikes to a Triumph street twin .had this came out 4 years ago it would have been my first choice ... wife loves going pillion :-)
So much bang for the buck.. pillion comfort would have been better had it straight pipes, and while were complaining, a much more comfortable seat, a wind screen, a clock, and, and.. lol
I just test rode one yesterday and I find it a little weird that the brake lever is a shifter lever. I also didn't like the foot peg placement. Shin bangers. And, the biggest issue I have and what i haven't heard any review mention, it steers really heavy. Feels like its fighting me when I want to turn. Goes straight great. Has good power for its weight. But I'm not sure I can get used to the sluggish front end handling. I really wanted to love this bike from the first ride. It didn't put a smile on my face like others I have owned did (and still do).
Any RE dealer should be able to get it for you, I would start there, let me know if you don't have access to a dealer and I can find out where else to get it
Some of the demo bikes have the S&S exhaust included at no extra charge. You can buy the exhaust through the dealer if the bike you want doesn't already include it.
Exactly as VW said, you can get it through an Enfield dealer and some of the demo bikes have it, this one had it installed at the dealer as a demo bike
@@AlexSimmons11c Here in india that exhaust cost $680 doller with import fees that is pritty expensive than other exhaust available here And dealer doesnt providing any exhaust for interceptor I like s&s exhaust Its not available in india market
Hi Ben! I've done a decent amount of 2-up riding on it and I can only count on the feedback of my passenger hahaha! She didn't have any complaints! That being said it was always a shorter ride of 1-2 hours or less, so not sure how well it would do 2-up for longer distances!
I hope you guys stateside have more luck when you get a puncture, over here in UK none of the big breakdown organisations will patch your inner tube roadside, unless you've got a spare tube, some say oh! we'll take you to the nearest garage FINE, if you can guarantee to get puncture in working hours would you leave a bike worth more than $18000 outside a garage till next morn! Why couldn't Enfield have designed bike with tubeless tyres, a damned good bike with one big niggle.
@@AlexSimmons11c Absolutley right Alex I have been lucky both times I had a flat once (near home)with a nail in rear tyre & a week ago I went out to get some supplies got 1/4 mile down rd flat on front(split on base of valve) roadside breakdown pumped tyre up again & followed me home, made it just, Great news 'tho I picked up a battery powered tyre inflator which is charged via usb port which I had fitted on my bike for GPS navigation unit price about $50:55 I could not find one on US Amazon but similar one are offered for sale. Best Regards & happy riding Peter
@Ed not really an answer, any biker using spoked wheels knows you can't use tubeless tyres , but it would make life easier if emergency road Co.s fixed punctures at the roadside (smart motorways excepted as too dangerous) instead of taking you to nearest garage & that's assuming you can arrange to have a puncture in normal trading hours .
Not unless that 15 year old is a trained motocross rider with years of experience no, that's a machine for someone who races or at least has a TON of experience, lots of power and relatively light weight

Absolutely! And the gearbox on my 650 GT is like butter :-)
Nice bike love from india
Brother....the center stand is so you can work on your bike, change tyres, do oil changes etc.... not so it can stand up in gravel haha

Asshole truck? I'm offended! Not really I'm not a snowflake.
I like your reviews. Short sweet and covers all the major points
These Are designed in England at the Royal Enfield HQ !!
So You can Trust the Engineering is First Class !!
Great bike go get 1 NOW !!
Great to see you back!!! Glad your doing well!
Thanks so much, great to be back!
Looking at one of these to replace a much heavier cruiser. I ride on more windy country roads so the Interceptor looks like fun to me.
Yeah should be great for that

Been loving mine after riding and owning a lot of other stuff! I don't think you would be disappointed :-)
Very comprehensive review for being so brief.Great job.👍👍I look forward to test riding one of these when possible.Thank you.
I think you'll enjoy it Brian!

If its anything like my old Norton Commando,I'm sure I will!
Looking forward to getting mine home from the dealer next week! 👍
Great review..but I wouldn't change the exhaust pipes..
Same here ! I agree !
Not the same twin type vertical engine as the 60,s/ 70,s this a 170 degree far smoother
270 degree but close haha, point being yes much smoother...I'm in love.
Its definitely got the look.If the quality of materials used in its construction and overall reliability are there,it should sell like hotcakes.
I bought the Conti GT version almost a year ago, so far so good!

Why nobody is talking about tappet noise on interceptor 650 or gt 650 which is by default on the bike !
I got the exact same bike 2019 it fell over and broke my shifter where can I get one it's that bracket the holds the shifter and the footpeg

It's got passenger foot pegs, how comfortable is it riding 2 up?

Mine is awesome I love it, the review for my personal bike is coming soon
Hes back!!!!!
He suuuurrreeee is, thanks for all the support! It's been a journey!
Doesn't he resemble Jesse Pinkman from Breaking bad in some angles ? Definitely not the voice though, this bloke's got a manlier voice than Jesse
What you don't get is a kickstarter. That is not classic.
they're fuel-injected bikes.
Where were you when you were “gone?” Prison? Jk
Overseas for old Uncle Sam hahaha
Slipper clutch.
Yessir.
