Remarkable to ride.. compared to my RE 500classic. So smooth. So easy to ride, the clutch and transmission are so precise. Acceleration is smooth and linear. Hi John, still think the Triumph is a great bike too and has some features the Royal doesnt have, but sure the Enfield is super amazingly priced. Of course, its very difficult to compare labour costs between UK and India, they will be radically different as totally different economies. Thanks, Aaron Knox
I agree that the Triumph is overpriced ... but it's not like it's you're comparing apples to oranges there. The Interceptor is clearly, clearly a cheaper made machine.
@@KnoxArmourI Love the Triumph's but lets be accurate - they are made in Malaysia now and have been for a couple of years, so how come the price is still so much more than the Enfield? I do think though that you would only be able to compare the Enfield with a Bonneville if Triumph were to introduce a 650cc version aimed at the A2 licence riders.
How much are they compared to the cheapest Triumph twin and the CB500F? Triumph are quite expensive there (compared to the Japanese which are assembled there). The 2019 model 500F should be around 320,000 or so. I wonder because the RE is imported from India so shouldn't be that cheap.

@@dimesonhiseyes9134 seen rust on few front brake rotors but not in kine , those rotors were replaced under warranty by RE. Didn't faced any electrical issues post washing. Only thing the erratic fuel gauge and minor noise from rear brake.
@@ijs_autoandmore nearly everyone is complaining Bout the fuel gauge and I have to agree. I have seen several people complain about rust on the end of exhaust and a few screws rusting. One reviewer that was written after owning for several months said that after the bike got wet all the lights would blink or not completely go off on the gauges. Some of the buttons would not work right. This would happen for a few days until the bike would dry out.
@@dimesonhiseyes9134 we have group of over 200 twins here in Delhi , only heard this electrical issue once or twice. Things are being sorted out. And rust issue too.
Royal Enfield have nailed it with this bike. Tremendous value for money, with the investment where it matters such as a quality frame, suspension and brakes rather than a load of electronics which make a dubious contribution to rider enjoyment and represent a maintenance liability as a bike ages. The only let down on the Interceptor is the weight - for comparison I have have a Moto Guzzi 650 from the '80s which has 52BHP and weighs just 165kg dry. Need to shed some weight without losing quality. Triumph take note - a 650 with 50bhp and no gimmicks is going to grab a lot of buyers in the market for a traditional but modern 'British' twin. Why aren't you offering one?!!
I hear that changing those exhausts will lose you 10 Kgs. Soon there should be 18 inch aftermarket alloys, which you can put on instead of those steel rims which will save you another 20 kgs. The tyres can run tubeless. 200 Kgs is required to ride on highways if you want to feel safe when those huge trailers ride by. The weight is quite low down, not sure why she said it is top heavy
I'm sure there are a few differing opinions on this. Sure, the RE is a great value bike, but Triumph...don't change a thing, just keep turning out high quality. [thumbsup]
It is very noticeable how heavy bikes are nowadays, my fully faired 1979 Ducati MHR 900 only weighed 205 kg. I'm a bit puzzled why an air cooled naked 650 weighs the same.
Rory McLoughlin triumph had the previous street twin with 50hp now they upgraded them to 60hp. What i would like to see from them is a 500 or 400cc with at least 40hp. Something a bit lighter and less pricey.
I don't understand why everybody says it's a bargain or tremendous value for money when you can buy a Suzuki SV 650 S with double front disc, 25 additional hp, far better behaviour and proven reliability at a similar price, at least here in Spain
If you want to tour with this bike, changing to a 16 tooth drive sprocket totally transforms it. The seat is a bit firm on mine otherwise difficult to fault. If you are thinking about buying one, don't hesitate
Hi Andy, sorry but a bit of a newbie here. Could you explain more i ndetail what you meant? And what it changes on the bike? Transforms in what sense? Thank you in advance
@@kanjinha Sorry,I don't use RUclips very much. Increasing the gearing brings the engine speed down at a given road speed, 60mph is at 3000 rpm instead of 3500rpm. Better on fuel for touring but slight loss in acceleration. I'm 60 so it suits me.
These reviewers were so informative and credible. I'm excited to see R.E. making the kind of bike I really want. Not a transformer robot, not a generic mega-cruiser.
Fabulous bike and I enjoyed your review but I couldn't disagree more about the weight - I think it feels really light and in no way top heavy - you should try lugging a Triumph Scrambler around your drive to see what heavy feels like! That notwithstanding a fab film and particularly liked watching Holly ;0)
Hi, thanks for the comment and feedback! Ref the weight, I hold to my opinion and what we said, but yes it depends on what you are used to... note that we also called out some of the Triumph models in the review for being guilty of being and feeling heavy/top heavy. We'll explain more in the next video, but we did actually test the bikes with 14 of the women who work at Knox and of the 14 women, in fact, only 5 were strong enough to pick it up off the side stand and sit on it normally. We also had the bike weighed fully fuelled and was 230kg, so on the basis of those two things, I class this as pretty heavy and potentially hard to manage statically for women. However, at the same time, of course, it does depend on what type of bike you are used to. All the best, Aaron - Knox.
Jocelin Snow likes to pick up motorcycles. When she first began riding she mentioned she would drop them 20 - 30 times per day. Nowadays it's been getting too hard for her to drop them: RUclips video: Pint-Sized Rider Jocelin Snow Taming a Big-Bore GS Is Proof Size Doesn't Matter
I definitely enjoy my 2021 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. I have been adding a lot of extras on it S&S performance exhaust DNA air filter and a booster plug also upgrading the spark plugs a custom seat also installed LED headlights all around makes a very big difference on visibility when it comes to the blinkers. The S&S performance slip on mufflers have a very smooth fit and finish and a nice sound no need to take the baffle out which is removable.
Great review, I part exchanged my Classic Bullet 500 to get the new one and very glad I did. The 650 is thrilling without being terrifyingly fast and ‘banking’ into bends is great fun. Can’t recommend it highly enough tbh.
Re is always a conversation start.. Very extrovert and out going personality... No other bike has this kind of character... Which can talk to you.. Especially to your heart.
Royal Enfield look to have found a sweet spot in the market with these bikes getting enthusiastic reviews everywhere. Triumph have seriously missed a trick by ignoring the 500 - 650 segment.
That's what annoys me about Triumph. Lovely bikes, but not everyone wants huge CCs or more power than you can possibly use (legally). A nice light, flickable 650/750 Bonnie would be fantastic, especially if it accommodated the shortarses like me. I find a lot of the bikes are just too big and heavy.
@@stevegray3922 Have to agree - their retro's look the part cosmetically, but they're heavy lumps & ridiculously expensive, which kind of misses the whole point with this type of bike. I guess like harley, ducati, etc - they're targeting the well heeled hipster crowd with money to burn & who buy them as trinkets.
In Australia the Bonnie's compete with the ubiquitous Harley's. This leaves a space wide open for the Royal Enfields which are increasingly becoming a more common sight (and sound) on our streets.

hi guys,I might repeat this question but do you find this motorbike a little bit without proper torque/acceleration? I have ridden both gt cont and interceptor ,same day and...well,I just got my driving license a few days ago, literary :)...so is it me not knowing to use the clutch and acceleration or is it indeed little lazy?I mean ...look,I am wondering does it really offer you the pleasure to ride it amd feel the acceleration and second thing, does it offer you the power snd torque to overtake on those on lane/direction between the village roads? and I am not asking just for fun, I am asking because I am at 70-80% to email for ordering it,the other 20% is like...would it be fun to ride it, would it be more fun and safer on a,for ex triumph street twin while paying “only” about 2500€ more. Honestly what do you think? Thank you and yes a professional video, with nice info ,especially on the braking side...I had a similar feeling about being little bit heavy (while actually having same weight as a street twin) with the braking distance little bit long(maybe a second disc can be easily installed?) Hello you two I congratulate you on this great report. This is the most beautiful Interceptor presentation I have seen so far. The scenery is really nice and the RE is really cool bike. A few months ago, I saw your presentation of the Classic 500, which I really liked. I also had the opportunity to test the Interceptor in Switzerland. I was very pleased. I drive a Bonneville T100 Spirit but the Interceptor is worthy of it. It is just a pity that the RE motorcycles cost about 35% more as in the UK. I'm looking forward to your next presentation of the Continental GT 650. I hope Holy we will be there again... Happy greetings from Switzerland Matthew
Hey Matthew, thanks so much for the kind feedback, we are trying!! We have some great scenery here, although I am not sure it can compete with Switzerland!! All the best - Aaron - Knox.

Hi Ashkaran, Thanks for the comment, spooky!! I think we did mention about the sound which is great, and didnt specifically mention the smooth gear change, but we did talk about how smooth the engine and bike was overall... All the best, Aaron, Knox. 😊
Nice review. My last bike was a Harley Road Glide, so from my perspective this bike is very light. Exactly what I am looking for now. Something to commute and occasional weekend trips. Love the retro look of the bike too. It was nice to hear a Harley rider's perspective.
Being honest I too would like to see twin disks also a bit more in the seat. As for shedding weight I could lose a few pounds hahaha I really think RE have nailed it with this bike, as for mods you can always do some yourself. Cheers for your review.
Hey, I really appreciate your video. I found it helpful and insightful view on this new bike. You guys rock. Just saying. Please keep making more videos.
I have a 2002 model Kawasaki W650, and the reasoning coming out in this video, tells me why I bought it 17 years ago. It still runs perfectly well, but has been replaced by the W800. I would advise would-be buyers of the W800 to go for the Interceptor instead - if only for realism....
Very nice review, awsome landscape and you are a really nice couple 😉 . I think this bike is a nice comuter and perfect for relaxed sunday trips. Makes a great alternative to the bigger, better, stronger (and of course more expensive) machines. Need to check out your gear, looks great.
Thanks a lot for the feedback, really appreciate it! Yes, you should, we're trying really hard to make some great gear that works! Many thanks, Aaron - Knox 😄
I test rode one of these and was very pleasantly surprised by it. In fact I preferred how it rode to the Street Twin. It just seemed more nimble despite being a similar weight. And, great value too. Was very tempted, but ended up buying a Ducati Scrambler Full Throttle instead.
Hi Dunstan, well its difficult as there are so many great bikes out there including this one, but of course the Ducati Scrambler is surely fantastic too! Aaron, Knox ;)
By the way, love your gear. I’m pretty much kitted out entirely in Knox stuff after a friend in the motorcycle industry recommended you. Looks good and quality is great. Just got to think about upgrading my Urbane shirt to the Urbane Pro now!
Good for Royal Enfield proper street bike give people a good value for money motorcycle and well received from the testers no traction control etc. Old school lovley
This is by far the best review I’ve seen on the Interceptor yet. Seriously considering buying one after my degree when I will finally have a life and some money to spare😂 I loved the shots and I enjoyed the conversational/ chat styled review. It felt honest and to the point. I’m also a huge fan of your riding gear. My Knox jacket and trousers lasted 7 years and saved my butt when I had a crash in Australia. The bike was written off but I didn’t have a scratch on me. All this to say I’m a huge fan and keep up the great work!
Great review Knox! Bike at the center of it all, and just a little nod to your gear. If you keep with this lay out and do more bikes I will for sure be watching your stuff regularly. Also I have one of your back packs, the classic style roll top one. The thing is great! I use it for everything from motorcycling, to hand luggage on small weekend trips. Keep up the good work!

Fantastic overview and review of this motorcycle, folks! I like the team approach to the riding and letting both perspectives and opinions be heard. I believe you said there no electronics, but these do have ABS to be compliant with Euro requirements, don’t they? I think the pair of bikes with this engine really signals a leap forward for Royal Enfield. The looks, decent but not intimidating performance, and the mind blowing value (!!) position The Interceptor and the Continental GT as the go to for folks who want an entry into retro styled motorcycles. I know that I’d love a week on one! Now, what was that saying about only mad dogs and Team Knox sitting in the midday sun?
Thanks for the feedback Fred! Yes, you are quite right, of course, the Interceptor has Bosch ABS, we should have mentioned that, but its almost a given now as like you said it is a legal compliance thing now!! Thanks again! Aaron, Knox.
This place where you rode the bike has got to be every biker's wet dream. "English Lake District", I'm going to remember that. Respect from India! I'm glad that RE introduced these Mid Performance bikes for the international markets. Mid & High performance bikes are not practical for my country (RE staple market for its survival), as most people cannot afford it; as well the roads aren't consistent for people to ride powerful bikes on. That's why most of RE's bikes in the past decade were utilitarian focused and the company just focused on making profits with a marginal premium cost. Now that its healthy on finances, it wants a slice on international fame is what I assume.
Thank you for your excellent review, in an highly elegant and sympathic setting. Makes me wonder about build quality, reliablity, durability and possible high milages. Can you give me some comment on these subjects?
Hi, thanks for the comment and kind feedback! Unfortunately, although we did about 500 miles on them, its not enough to give you a full reliability comment and opinion. However, a new machine should come with the full warranty etc. All the best, Aaron - Knox.
I’ve been ignoring the elephant in the room for too long…time to see it for what it is an give the RE 650 a look. Living in the US the dealers aren’t as close as I’d like but I’d do my own maintenance anyway…just getting to one to have a look is a bit of an endeavor. I saw one, used, when I was buying a used Triumph T120…I wasn’t impressed but I don’t think that owner took good care of that particular bike. I want, no need, to go to a showroom and have a look at a new one and decide from there. I’m looking to get a new bike in the spring and this is very near the top of my list. The Moto Guzzi V7 is also up there, but a lot more expensive comparatively. Thanks for the review and some points to consider.
Nice review. I currently own a 2016 Motto Guzzi V7II Stone and a 2015 Harley Super Low 1200T. Been riding since 1969. but took a break around 1975 and started up again in 2015 with a 1973 Honda CB350 I bought used, duh, haha. After my Honda blew a piston (so much for Honda reliability, haha) I bought the MG V7II used (it had 200 miles on the odometer) in 2016 at a bargin price. A year later I bought the Harley (1000 miles on the odometer) at a bargin price. Anyways, if the RE Intercepter 650 was around back in 2016 I might have bought it new instead of the Guzzi. I am in the process of trying to decide for a 3rd bike. Either a "Adventure" bike (MG V85TT or the KTM 790 Adventure) or a more sporty bike like the Triumph Street Triple R. Anyways, good to see that Royal Enfield is finally getting their act together and producing a quality motorcycle. Though it does seem too heavy for what it is for the 1970 Triumph Bonneville 650 weighed only 166 kg dry with about the same HP as the modern RE Interceptor. By the way, though Holly looks to be a beautiful and intelligent woman, But her accent ... OMG :-O Bloody Hell, it would drive me Bonkers if I had to hear her speak 24/7 hahahahahaha .. At the least, it is so difficult to understand her, haha. Remember to always ride defensively and wear proper gear. Remember what the Door Mouse said ...
1:42 Well it's time that Brits acknowledged that Indians could manufacture such a beautiful piece of machinery on their own. I have always seen them talking about RE British history as if they still own the brand, well you don't coz you killed the brand in the past and now it's Indians who are keeping the brand alive which will beat International brands like Triumph or Harleys in that segment. It's a machine which especially people with RETRO outlook would like to own not for kids nowadays.
My one and only nit with the Enfield Interceptor is that you can't get alloy wheels for it to run tubeless tires! WHEN will Royal Enfield make them available?
The sales supervisor for the southern part of india did say that royal Enfield will be having optional alloy wheels. But then, the spoke wheels do look good one them, don't they?
Vamsi Krishna Since they got the engine right, I suppose RE would emulate Triumph by launching different versions around it like the street twin, scrambler and a bobber perhaps.
I agree with the Missenden flyer l don't think it's that heavy, also the after market Exhausts are very loud the standard exhausts sound fine ,👍 great review,,

Nice review.

I have heard there are some rust issues and electrical issues when wet? Have you experienced any of these? Have you given it a serious deep washing yet?
I think these bikes will be added into the Kamasutra. Putting passion back into biking or biking into lust lol
Haha!!
😂🤣😂
Best line heard for RE
I'm 60 so it suits me.
good conversation. I love the fact that you are not riding the Orange bike that every other reviewer rides. . the chrome tank is beautiful and unique.
Orange is beautiful in person, when the sun shines, the orange paint glows beautifully
Thanks Steve, well we are a bit special at Knox and we like a bit of bling!! ;) Aaron, Knox
@@KnoxArmour I test rode an Interceptor. They did not have "Glitter and Dust" But they will.... I put down a deposit.
These reviewers were so informative and credible. I'm excited to see R.E. making the kind of bike I really want. Not a transformer robot, not a generic mega-cruiser.
Thanks so much for the feedback!! Aaron, Knox
@@KnoxArmour wait 230kg, really? My gt 650 doesn't feel close to that heavy. I think the wet weight is around 212kgs.
I love Holly. But this man likes that woman, it shows.
@@KnoxArmour 230K? That's 50lbs more than what I saw it weighed at with a full tank. Better put your scale on a diet. 😄
Thanks Colin, appreciate it! Glad you like your bike, it is really fun! Aaron, Knox :)
Re is always a conversation start.. Very extrovert and out going personality...
No other bike has this kind of character... Which can talk to you.. Especially to your heart.
Man do I miss the Lakes. Ambleside in my near future. Excellent vid and review. Love the REs. Respect from a Triumph rider.
Thanks David! Aaron, Knox
The Bonnevilles are fine bikes in every way including handling. But the $price$...
Where were u guys?????....loved the review..nothing is reviewed until done by Knox...respect.

Great review and video on the 650 Interceptor, I will be buying one but was unsure of the colour, but now I know.Thankyou

And a beautiful review, very informative and informal discussion
Unlike other robotic reviews out there
Hi, thanks so much for the kind feedback, really appreciate it. Glad you are happy with your bike!!! Many thanks Aaron Knox 😀
hi guys,I might repeat this question but do you find this motorbike a little bit without proper torque/acceleration?
Thank you and yes a professional video, with nice info ,especially on the braking side...I had a similar feeling about being little bit heavy (while actually having same weight as a street twin) with the braking distance little bit long(maybe a second disc can be easily installed?)
I mean as a beginner some good brakes could really save you, maybe?
Again,thanks
@@emiliandarie7277 Hi, it depends what you are looking for really... if you are after a classic looking, relaxed motorcycle then the royal Enfield is great. Hello you two
I congratulate you on this great report.
Happy greetings from Switzerland
Matthew
Hey Matthew, thanks so much for the kind feedback, we are trying!! We have some great scenery here, although I am not sure it can compete with Switzerland!! All the best - Aaron - Knox.

I searched in your page 3 days back for a review on this bike but couldn't find n 3 days later here it is. Nicely done. Was planning for a 2019 street twin this October but after checking out so much positive review about the interceptor 650 from all over the the world finally decided to settle for 2019 interceptor 650 and will save approx 8200 plus 🇺🇸 dollars😊.

This is a beautiful bike and a nice nod to the RE’s of old.I don’t need another bike, but I have to at least give this one a serious ride.

@@najeebn5761 We live at India and unfortunately there will be no change in the bike. I am editing my main comment. Don't cancel it. From 01st September 2019 there will be increase in the price. And also for your information Interceptor is not a hot selling bike which requires long wait because thousands of units/month are manufactured at Enfield plant. Your bike is already available at dealership, tell your dealer that you won't bargain and he will give you by next day. All the Best.

Interesting and I'm now considering as a stablemate to my 2018 Triumph Speedmaster. My Griso is up for sale as I type.
Love the way you explained it

Cant wait to see your review on the
Gt version!
I have never seen any new bike get the coverage that this Royal Enfield Interceptor has had, and most of it is positive.
About to get the mark 3. Such a classy look.
It could do with 15 hp more, just to knock the revs down at motorway cruise speed, as it vibrates a bit at 70, and for clean overtaking.
I agree with the Missenden flyer l don't think it's that heavy, also the after market Exhausts are very loud the standard exhausts sound fine ,👍 great review,,
Hmmm! Nice review, lovely bike ...beginning to regret buying a speed twin ....... great stuff ... Fred
The Speed twin has twice the hp/and loads more torque. You've done the right thing, don't regret it.
