Repairing an eBay box of Samsung NX parts. Fixing the $$ lens that caught my eye from the listing!

- What up Fam! Today I tinker around with a box of camera parts I bought off of eBay, because of a Samsung 12-24 f4-5.6 that I saw in the listing, which was one of the 5 lenses in the box. I have always wanted that lens, so I'm going to try to see if I can fix this "for parts" lens to make it a great deal. I also have some plans for the rest of the box, but that will be in another video. Join me for a repair video, that I had no idea whether my skills would work to repair the lens or not.

12mm to 24mm NX lens is a must have lens. I very much want to get one.
I have a 50mm to 200mm lens with a missing autofocus switch. It’s stuck In autofocus mode and the autofocus does works great just the external plastic switch broke off and not sure how but the internal switch works. I tried it with a toothpick. I replaced the lens but I do still have the lens with the missing external autofocus switch if anybody wants to buy it for $100 I will ship it to you (US only)

Hello OG Camera Boi. Thanks for making these Samsung camera videos. I was intrigued by their discontinued products, the *NX500* and in particular the *NX1* Mirrorless. Do you know if these cameras can be used as webcam on OBS. I've read on reddit and other blogs that it can be done with a capture card such as the elgato camlink while others have said the image quality is tinted (Green/yellow). I'm considering the NX1 as I just sold my Canon Powershot elph 360hs and I'm looking to upgrade.
Sorry for the very late reply, but the short answer is, YES they absolutely can. As a matter of fact I use them as webcams all the time. The other thing is forget Elgato altogether. Go on Amazon and get yourself a capture card for less than $20. All you need to have a micro HDMI cord to HDMI, your capture card, and you're good to go. Elgato doesn't even support Samsung cameras according to their own website, and is at least 5 times the price. This is one of those situation where the cheap Chinese product actually works super well. I have two capture cards that are no name brand, were less that $20 from Amazon, and both work for all of my cameras. Plus with the NX1 and NX500, you just plug them to charge at the same time, and you'll have unlimited streaming use. Hope that helps, and wasn't too late a reply.

Great videos! I have a Samsung nx3000 which makes a ticking sound when putting on a 50-200 mm lens on it as if something (maybe autofocus motor?) is stuck. When I put the 16-50 mm back on it also doesn`t focus anymore also not manually. I see it a lot on forums but no one has a solution besides a loose connector? Do you happen to know how to fix it since you are an NX specialist :) or maybe have a video on it so I can watch and try it out? Hope to hear from you
Wow, that sounds like an interesting problem. I wish I had an answer for you, but that sounds like a new one to me. I'm a DIY tinkerer, so I'd probably open the lens up to have a look. First thing I would do as troubleshooting is get some 99% alcohol and clean the contacts, both on the camera body, and lenses. The fact that 2 lenses have problems could point to the camera body. Does the 16-50 work if you put it on before the 50-200, and then not work only after the 50-200 has been put on first? I'd also maybe remove the bayonet from the 50-200, and the 18-50 and blow compressed air though the lenses to remove any debris, in pulses rather than a straight stream of air. Do you have another NX camera to test the lenses on perhaps? These kinds of issues are often little things, and really require patience to solve. Like I said, I don't have a definitive answer for you, but that's where I'd personally start.
