I love how this run category is "Let's use the game to re-code itself to the point of unrecognizable levels of graphical artifacts."
It's almost a form of art how broken the Gen1 code was, but also really clever to watch people both figure out how to exploit it and do so in a way that doesn't cause crashes.

Its not broken in casual play at all. No bugs unless you go out of your way to break it.
@@rykehuss3435 dude, battle is pretty broken af. 1/256 miss, Psychic types being immune to Ghost, glitchy moves, broken Focus Energy, not to mention there are a _ridiculous_ number of glicthes you can very easily encounter by complete accident during casual play.

If you actually did some coding you'd realize the Gen 1 code is NOT broken.

The announcer lady is pretty awesome, unlike most GDQ announcers she never interrupts the runners/commentators and only reads when the runner is okay with it, and when she does read she's actually entertaining and energetic.

Considering the only glitch we knew when I started playing Pokemon was Missingno on the right shore on Cinnabar Island... This has come a long way.
i actually figured missingno myself out of the blue, since i already had figured out that we can catch safari zone pokemon at cinnabar the same way. it was pretty scary at the time but when internet came everything got cleared out. all using no$gbc back in 2001. i couldnt actually afford a game boy until 2005 when i bought a gba and a cartridge with 20 gbc games

I come back to this run a lot simply because of Shen's goofy and yet incredibly insightful commentary. From the moment I saw the rival childhood friend joke I knew it was going to be an incredible run. Thanks again to the runner, couch, and everyone else involved in putting this great content out there!
I really hate the joke where he is like "oh we get this to help with this" fully well knowing he will glitch through it, and stuff like saying trainer fly is frame perfect when it can be buffered. Honestly its really dumb meta humor and reminds me of something you'd see on VELMA. Good run overall though, but the humor fell flat.

as a child i must of spent month doing this. i completed all 3 of the titles and traded. took ages. he did it in under 2 hours. how humiliating... childhood crushed lol
completeing red + blue cause u have to trade for some evolutions + there are 3 starter so u have to play 3 games cause u cant get the other starters in 1 game

I wish I could stay so serene and nonchalant when literally every other thing crashes the game and makes everything I had done thus far irrelevant. At 1:58:09, the game is basically telling you, "Fuck off, can I die in peace already?" It sounds like it's flatlining.

Shenanagans is a great runner, and it amazes me to see how good he managed to go through all of these glitches/bugs.
151 Pokemon in under 2 hours is just insane. Other people sat on that for months!
The Views are well deserved, this was an awesome run and commentary.
I never thought that there was anything more intense than the Elite Four.
Until I saw this run.
If you want another intense run, check out No Save Corruption. The old strat was boring and started out the same way as this 151 run (ending with the second Missingno encounter south of Saffron), but the new strat is a ton of RNG manipulation, ending with a boss rush of trainers stronger than your level 6 starter in Viridian forest, the last battle of which you cannot lose or the game crashes.

You can transfer Gen 1 and 2 pokemon using the Virtual Console versions of the games and PokeBank. All pokemon transferred this way have their hidden abilities, if applicable.
Also, Pokémon Bank has some legality checks, so you would, at a minimum, have to manipulate Mew's Original Trainer and ID; Pokémon Bank only allows Mew to be transferred if its OT is "GF" and its ID is 22796. In addition, they catch a bunch of level 0 Pokémon; I highly doubt that Pokémon Bank would allow level 0 Pokémon through.
@Otacon464 Actually, that "jump" only happens to certain Pokémon (ones in the Medium Slow experience group).
You'd need a living dex...

In this run, the rarest thing happened: someone couldn't find a zubat

Considering Dratini was your last official wild pokemon capture in this run, I thought it was very fitting it got a remixed fast version of Lavender Tower's music. It was the game's answer to the "final boss" of menu mashing you used throughout the entire run; which I thought was a really cool way to go out. Nice run, Shenanagans!
