It’s all in the eyes. Ugarte has the same slightly crazy steely look in his eyes like Martínez, Casemiro, Dalot, De Ligt, Mazraoui, Hojlund, and Onana. If you know what I’m talking about, you know. United are gradually assembling a team of warriors with grit. The likes of Maguire, Shaw, Sancho, and Rashford categorically do not have that mad dog look in their eyes. I cannot wait to see a high back line of Maz, De Ligt, Martinez, Dalot, Urgarte, Mainoo, Fernandez, Garnacho, Amad, and Hojlund/Zirkzee. We still need several secondary players but a significant transition in a single window. Maybe we can get a deal towards the end of the week for a LB or CM.
Solid signing. Good transfer window overall. Wouldn't mind seeing sancho moved on though. Ideally rashford and Maguire also next summer.

Ugarte will get booked a lot. He loves a slide tackle and mis-timed plenty of them (when he was picked) for PSG in the French League and the ball moves a lot faster in the Premier League.
Refs are also much more lenient in the French league

My guess is short term Mainoo might not be a starter while he works on improving his fitness because he’s been getting gassed out recently. I think it will be Ugarte and Casemiro for a bit. I know Casemiro has become marmite in the community but my guess is Ten Hag keeps him in the starting lineup for experience. Ugarte’s only 23 and will need time to bed in. Mainoo and Ugarte would be a very young Midfield pivot. Probably will be them down the line though.

Ugarte is the absolute dynamo midfielder. Hard working, hard tackling and very aggressiv and cover a lot of space. Man United dosent have any player in the midfield with that profile at the same time he have his flaws as a player but overall a very good signing that give Ten Hag new tactical options.
