I don’t remember fully, that was like 7th grade and I’m 25 now so it’s been a long time. I know all the states in my region (south east), the states I’ve been to or traveled through (haven’t been to many outside my region), and the well known states, but that’s pretty much it! US geography was literally only taught to me as a one week lesson in a high school US history class. My dumb ass thought Canada was Alaska all throughout grade school. Our education system sucks haha, but luckily I hate being ignorant, so I self taught myself world geography, others unfortunately, don't bother.

Lorraine C we also have counties in America. Or provinces, depending on which state in America one is from. To me, the concept of a county is probably entirely different than that of someone from Ireland. It blew my mind that Ireland has “counties” too for a minute or so before I realized that “county” probably doesn’t mean the same thing in Ireland as it does here in America.

Lauren Leve RIGHT?! I had to learn all 50 states, their locations, and I think their capitols were extra credit? I don’t remember fully, that was like 7th grade and I’m 25 now so it’s been a long time. I memorized all the states and their locations just long enough to ace the test and put in the commonly known capitols then immediately data dumped it all when the test was over. I know all the states in my region (south east), the states I’ve been to or traveled through (haven’t been to many outside my region), and the well known states, but that’s pretty much it! For some reason I genuinely thought Colorado was on the west coast, just below Washington. I was baffled when it showed the actual location lmfao!
Because school teaches lots of pointless crap that means nothing in adult life, so we forget most of it. I don't even remember the pledge of allegiance from heart, and I did that all the time as a kid. I'd rather keep things in memory that make me money and have a use.
