      Everyone is lucky to live in the west coast and it’s really popular with states such as California being pretty recognizable and even more recognizable than any other state. There is so many game or app or browser HQ’s in California. And there is DisneyLand in California so there is really a lot in the west. The unpopular part of the country is the east side (but not New York) And can barely ever get recognized by anyone.

    I teach the states to my third graders every year using a mnemonic I created called the Man in the Map. Iowa is his head, Missouri is his shirt, Arkansas is his trousers, and Louisiana is his boots. Minnesota is a weird hat. The rest of the map is his house. Utah is a pillow on his bed made up of Arizona, New Mexico, and Oklahoma, for example. Idaho is his toilet: where does the water go? I-da-ho.🤷🏻‍♀️ Across the south the legs of his table spell MAGS: Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina. The table top is Tennessee and North Carolina, with a big chicken leg from Kentucky Fried Chicken sitting on it. And on and on.

    Other states have some doozies of town names too.

    Here is a song that a lot of kids in the US learn in like fourth grade:
    Fifty nifty United States from thirteen original colonies;
    Fifty nifty stars in the flag that billows so beautif'ly in the breeze.
    Each individual state contributes a quality that is great.
    Each individual state deserves a bow, we salute them now.
    Fifty nifty United States from thirteen original colonies,
    Shout 'em, scout 'em, Tell all about 'em,
    One by one till we've given a day to ev'ry state in the U.S.A.
    Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut;
    Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana;
    Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan;
    Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada;
    New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina,
    North Dakota, Ohio;
    Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas;
    Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming,
    Al -a -o ming.
    North, south, east, west, in our calm, objective opinion,
    (Name of home state) is the best of the
    Fifty nifty United States from thirteen original colonies,
    Shout 'em, scout 'em, Tell all about 'em,
    One by one till we've given a day to ev'ry state in the good old U. S. A.
