Golf is such a great player, his ball striking is so pure
After seeing his first 3 or 4 shots in this video I was just thinking I wish I could groove me swing like his. The ball flight is perfect.
Just broke 90 for the first time ever with an 89 today! Started golf in January with an average of 115. One of the small positives of having to stay in one area.

Your right about the less stress with less clubs. I’ve switched to 7 clubs in the bag and I’ve been playing much better and having more fun. Thinking about course management for the clubs you have helps with scoring better. The less weight makes the walk less strenuous and you have more energy down the stretch. My clubs are 58, 50, 40 9i, 30 7i, 20 4i, 13 3w, the ten degree gaps gives me about 20 yards between each club.
Have mentioned before how sweet your 2 and 4 iron off the tee is, it truly is playa. Your driver is too to be fair, just when you try to hit the arse off it, you lean back and it fades/slices. I hate myself for writing a swing comment...I feel like such a Sharon writing this...sorry 😂 off to part 2 now!

I Play like this every round. Just have a 6 and 8 Iron, Pitching and Sand Wedge and a Putter. Have eben playing for Nine months and I am down to a 30 Hcp
Started with 1 club, a 3 iron, learned to play every shot with it, even green side bunkers 👍

The one and only time I played the canyon course I had 15 pars and 3 triples. I blamed the caddy for the triples. 😀 Enjoyed the lakes course too but my favourite on Phuket is Red Mountain!

Played there 15 years ago or so with a pro. Fun game. Course looks like they made some good changes.
My father-in-law is a member at blue canyon, played that and the lakes a good few times and can never get enough of it!! Gutted we couldn’t get back this year with the shit hitting the fan but here’s hoping we are back January 2022!! Let me know what you thought of the “tiger hole” absolute monster!!

Try using G5 3 wood more. Good distance, on par 5 you can hit it a second time with confidence because you just hit tee with it. I love mine.

I o Kay have played two rounds this year. But I’m hitting my irons great your videos really helping me because your swing very similar to mine. But all the sudden my woods I can not hit consistency. Have bad fade/slice. It’s really frustrating

Noticed that every time a tee shot is taken (in all your video's) the utmost concern is to look and find the tee, is this a law on Asian golf courses. Where I play there are a mess of them everywhere. Looks like a great idea to have clean tee box.

I don't know if this was filmed before or after your range session video but your swing looks different on the course v the range, specifically the left leg straightening up through impact. Was this intentional or old habits creeping back in?

Hey playa! Loving your videos mate and I have a question.
Was thinking of getting a range finder but could also just upgrade my Garmin watch to one that is capable of running the golf app so I can choose clubs more accurately out on the course.
Are there any advantages/disadvantages to choosing the Garmin upgrade over buying a half decent range finder?

Garmin is for middle front and back distances and for tracking your stats.
Rangefinder is for exact distances to objects.
I prefer the rangefinder because I can't commit to a number from a watch because I have seen the watch not match up to the rangefinder distance at all and sometimes has been out by 20 yards which is 2 clubs distance. It only needs to happen once a round to make you doubt it.

Who the heck hits a PW 156 yds????? Holy smokes, no wonder he can play with a half bag of irons. Hell, I think I’d be able to play with 5, PW, LW AND A PUTTER IF I could hit it that far.
Hey Matt and players. Need your thoughts on a golfing problem. (Although, I have not got an official handicap at the moment based on my recent scores I believe I would have a handicap somewhere between 5 to 9).
I went to the range today and took some slow motion phone footage with tripod. (Most of the time the ball will go in the general direction I want.)
I reviewed the footage of my biggest miss to the right, and biggest miss to the left, for the day with Driver. Both of these would have missed the fairway and gone into the trees.
Looking at the slow motion there was no real sign pre or post impact that the shot was going to be a big miss, my swing and club positions looked fundamentally the same as the straight shots.
Would it be correct to say that because impact is something that happens in .004 of a second that even a slow motion phone footage cannot capture what makes the miss happens. Is it not possible to know the face angle and club path at the point of impact with slow motion phone footage? Therefore viewing slow motion footage can only really be used for diagnosing problems in body position during the swing.
I think my problem is similar to what Matt is working on in his swing keeping the head behind the ball until post impact and then left leg straight at impact to make it easier to keep club face square.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
I think you need to see someone who is a professional if you're going to start analyzing your swing. It's impossible to know the cause and effect and the matchups in your swing (the counter movements to the initial movements) if you are not trained in it.
You should immediately stop analying and just swing. You can change some things yourself like ball position in the stance. But other than that, you're just guessing playa.

@@GolfSidekick I used to resort to that when I was broke. Would park on the side of the range and scoop a few on my way out. I always gave them back to the course though.
7 club challenge? The cool bros at my local club will probably say that's 5 drivers, a 64 degree, and a SpeedTrainer stick. No putter, go ahead and pick up anything that hits the green.
