Great podcast this time guys May Allah bless you
    From my point of view…
Before I reverted to islam I was a feminist without even realising
I was a working mother, I went back to work when my son was 3 months old because I wanted to prove I could do it all.
Guess what - biggest regret of my life! I missed my sons first word, his first steps & I was always stressed trying to find childcare!
After reverting to Islam I got married elhamdulillah & I worked until we had our first child together, after that I never returned to work. We now have 4 wonderful children subhanAllah I’m a stay at home mother and wife and my husband works away 6 days a week.
SubhanAllah my husband calls me the tree and our kids are the fruit.
He kisses my hands after he takes his first bite of the food I made him, he says thank you and he shows love and affection, that is all i need subhanAllah all i need is a little appreciation and it fuels me.
Having been on both sides, being a non hijabi no muslim, being a non hijabi muslim, being a hijabi muslim, being a working mother and a full time house wife and mother.
I can honestly say i’ve never felt more content & I gain more respect not just from my husband but from outsiders who see me do what i do, they always say how are you coping so well, how have you not lost your mind with your kids 24/7.
I do lose it sometimes but I know in my heart that Allah SWT will not burden upon me more than i can bare.
So i tell myself that yes I’m struggling but Allah SWT has trusted this upon me so I know only I am putting myself down and standing in my own way.
I will also add that me and my husband fought a lot when he started working away, because all i’d see was him before and after work going out for coffee with friends and me at home with the kids 24/7, I was comparing our tasks and feeling sorry for myself ya Allah forgive me.
It caused a lot of arguments.
But Subhanallah I took a step back and realised I was looking for a fight for no reason, that I don’t need coffee and friends every day, I was just jealous!
But my husband maşaAllah he was a lot more stressed than he let me see, once he opened up to me and we had dialogue, my ego settled and I could see how wrong i was, I apologised and now subhanAllah we have found our middle ground.
My advise to brothers and sisters out there is , marriage is 2 imperfect people coming together and learning about each other, you’re going to argue, irritate and disagree with each other but you both got to win some and lose some.
&&& remember always apologise, please never be too proud to say sorry, it really goes a long way.
May Allah SWT bless you all abundantly!

Please do more discussions like this and be wise in the candidates that join the show. After all, the public do get ‘influenced’ to a certain degree.
One tip: please don’t talk over one another, it wastes precious time. Jzk!

I recently added a comment onto a video stating that basically a woman can work behind the scenes to make her man great and hold down the forte and that makes her great, his reflection is her reflection and visa versa.
I had to delete the comment because I got some female sending me a patronising comment as if I'm a wounded bird and can't think and feel for myself.
She is telling me how I feel, that I feel worthless and I need to have more faith in myself to be great on my own and get out there and make my own greatness because I shouldn't stand behind a man and support a man behind the scenes. She said that men don't need us to make them great, they are great all on their own.
I was disgusted at the fact that some stranger, who doesn't know me, seems to think she knows how I feel deep down and can't accept the fact that not all women are feminists and not all women see the need to compete for materialism and meaningless things, forsaking the real reason they are here and not all women hate men.
For me, I've worked full time before and been at home doing everything for my family and beyond and I believe, going out to work for a female, put the kids in childcare to be raised by people with different ideologies and then complain about them being brainwashed. It's is so much easier than staying at home holding down the forte whilst her man's away. Being a real housewife is the hardest job on the planet. It's a huge world you have to take care of just inside the home environment and that includes the backyard and front yard if you have one and if you work from home or you also help with the husband business.
The point is, don't belittle women who actually care for their families and men and want to hold down the forte when their men are away and are proud of that.
Remember for those Muslim women, in Islam we are told it is a wife's job to take care of her husband's assets when he is away. This is clear and you and the kids and everything he has worked for is his assets.
If you feel that you need to be a feminist and stand against your roles as a woman, then question yourself as to why and if it doesn't benefit your afterlife and give you reward from Allah, then why are you doing it? We will all die and if you have focussed on materialism and putting others under you, may Allah have mercy on your soul.

I don’t believe these podcasts are beneficial for the ummah. The fact of the matter is that the prompts for all the episodes aren’t black and white, they’re grey. To assume these dialogues will help the Muslim couple next door in their personal affairs, when in reality, it’s all based upon subjectivity and personal experiences (to and extent). Muslim men shouldn’t be taking from Mahdi and use him to justify their behavior while the same applies to sisters taking from feminist niqabis and projecting onto their own marriage. These conversations need to be held privately.

Really good series. Well done brother Ali, May Allah reward you immensely for your efforts.
I must say, as someone who'd watched the episode in question and had no idea about the backlash you'd received. I am baffled at some of the criticism that was discussed. I genuinely feel for brother Romero as I genuinely didn't feel like he was supporting any of the nonsense Mahdi was spouting. In fact I completely agreed with the point about the fact it was even a conversation was baffling. I completely understood his point and thought that was one of the most rational comments made. I think it was also very unfair of the other sister to have criticised him like that on social media. She herself sat quietly and passively during that episode and didn't speak up so I don't feel she had any room for criticism. Also, if she was nervous or feeling uncomfortable about speaking up then firstly why was she sat reserving the spot of another sister who might have been better at speaking for the sisters corner. And lastly, if she was nervous then as brother Romero has explained he had his own reasons for not wanting to say too much unnecessarily. We can't show up wanting to have an opinion on a panel and then criticise someone else for not condemning someone when you've done exactly the same thing.

Everyone I know who is married don't have this argument between husband and wife about who should do what and "you should do this" or "I don't have to do that". I genuinely believe the people online arguing over this stuff are younger brothers who aren't married and feminist sisters who are also not married and they are all speaking from their extreme idealistic point of view. I have yet to see a couple who love each other and have their lives in order argue over this matter.

I HATE it when my husband does housework, I can't lie. He enjoys ironing and I don't mind that as I hate it BUT anything else? Drives me up the wall, why? Because that's MY job and I take great pride in that. The same way I expect him to enjoy providing for me and our childre. I like to ensure the roles are crystal clear.

Comparison is the killer of joy. Stop comparing JOBS. Start appreciating each other. I don't have anything more to say to this topic. It gets silly and people focus on things that does not matter. Find problems when there needs not be.
You reach a point in life where all that noise doesn't matter and being right doesn't matter. If you think you know better, then be a good example with the way you lead your life and build your home. Period.

Overall, a better panel, this time. Alhamdullillah. The sister who said that mahdi gives power to the men who think like him, is so spot on. Well said, sister. And the sister, who called mahdi, dangerous is also not exaggerating. He is impressionable on young minds. Many Muslim boys don't have role models and God forbid, they take mahdi as their role model.

What Brother Shaquil was talking about I call 'purity spiraling', I know some sisters and brothers who love to 'toot their own horn' and just sit in judgment of others jumping to conclusions, it's not right and it does turn people off, and it is destructive, May Allah guide us and keep us firm on the deen with sincerity and without hubris.

    1. I watched the previous full podcast however I did not help but laugh at Mahdi as well. I can not believe people were getting upset at the whole cast. I am very happy Shakil cleared the assumptions so he does not get any backlash. I feel like now everyone has to put a "Disclaimer" at every given moment of conversation especially when you are on a Podcast ( Which I notice Ali doing, bravo) I appreciated the sisters speaking on the importance of holding women in a high regard when speaking about them.
    2. Both sides answered the header question very classily and brought up some good points.
    3. Finally, as the sister said, Ali can bring ANY guest he wants but the point is to have a meaningful debate and ask challenging questions and when you disagree make it shown by actions or words during the conversation.

Almost the half of the podcast was about Mahdi. If you don't agree with him why didn't you interrupt him there and now? The sister who is totally against Mahdi that she even didn't go to the podcast because he was going to be there why is she NOW mad about the other guests not speaking or arguing with him. why she bringing him up while she didn't even wanted to be associated with him in the first place. You guys didn't do Mahdi any good in this podcast. you talked about him(not in a good way) and he doesn't have the chance to defend himself because he isn't in the podcast.
