  • Hey Team!! Mr. Blackson back with an update on my Infinity Venom..‪@kevinniknam6511‬ dropped a comment about having an issue with putting the slide stop pin back into his Infinity. Although, I came up with a quick fix to insert the slide stop back in. I will be reaching out to Infinity to resolve the issue. Drop some comments and let me know if this is a minor issue and what could fix the issue.

      Hey Kevin. You are welcome. Hopefully works for you. I will be reaching out to Infinity tomorrow to discuss the issue. I’m sure it’s a minor fix for them so I am not concerned.

      @kevinniknam6511 I just compared my slide stop pins on each of my infinities. It seems they are milled differently. The slide stop with the issue is not beveled enough to easily press against the detent pin. Check your slide stop pin to another one of your 2011s.

    Interesting, because I just thought that issue was normal. I have to push the detent in on my TRP, Nighthawk Shadowhawk, Wilson Professional, and Infinity, which by the way has a six inch island barrel, two piece guide rod, and a 12 pound recoil that’s not easy to tame.
    I guess I just figured it was normal to have to depress the detent. I see other guys just pushing the slide stop back in with light thumb pressure but I can’t do that. I thought it was because I was 70 😂 Best Regards

      Hey Mark. It seems that the slide stop is not milled correctly to push in the detent pin. This is the first time I had this issue with any of my 2011s. Thanks for watching. Stay young at heart my brother.

    Such an easy fix.. just a small file, and put a tiny round ramp on the back of the slide stop. Like the size of a grain of rice. With round file. Literally a 5 minute fix that'll never be seen

    My Venom has the exact same "issue". I think it's due to the new gun needing break in. I use the same method as yours to get the slide stop in. Great video!

      Thanks bro. My friend reach out to me and told me to compare my Infinity Venom slide stop to my other Infinity slide stop. It seems the Venom slide stop is not milled correctly or angled enough to press in the detent pin. I will tag you in a pic imposted showing the two slide stops side by side. Thanks for watching.

  • @Gypsyman40

    easy fix...cut a relief/channel in the back where the slide release meets the detent....just grab a hand file and a dremel to polish...done. But, you are coming at a bad angle to put the slide release in. Should be straight on, push and in. To be honest you may not really have an issue. Its just the angle...

      I will consider doing it. I haven’t got the chance to speak with Infinity yet. Appreciate your advice.

      Yeah bro. This was a tough one but it seems after talking with a friend the slide stop was not milled correctly on an angle to push the pin in. Here is a link to the pic I posted. Let me know what you think.

    You put your finger in the chamber to take it down but don’t to put it back together?
    Stick your dang finger in the chamber and line the slide up. Pipe the pin in and be done.
    You are trying to put the pin in at an upward motion as you push it in.
    Pop it straight in.
    The pin is attached to the plunger spring which is also affected to the safety detent spring which all slides in as 1 assembly from the safety side of the grip.
    It could be the pin diameter vs the angle on the slide catch? There should be a chamber of some kind on the slide catch to allow the pin to pass. But only when pushed straight in.
    Again idk why you go in then try to move it up as you push it in?

    • @teamblacksmithllc
      @teamblacksmithllc  4 месяца назад

      I appreciate your feedback but this is not my first 2011 or first time reassembling one. I have done this countless times. This is the first time having this issues especially with one of my Infinities.
      Check out "Community" section of my channel and you will see why i am having the issue. I posted a picture of my Infinity slides stops side by side. The one slide stop is squared and the other is milled correctly at an angle to push in the detent pin.
      I appreciate the advice though. Thanks for watching.

    I have my new infinity 5" and have this issue as well. So I'm not sure if it needs breaking in period or it's the way it's designed.

      Hey Evan. Wow!! It looks like it’s more than I thought. After talking to a friend, I compared the two slide stops side by side. The one slide stop was not machined correctly. Here is a link to the pic. Let me know if yours look the same.

    What tool did you use to push the slide stop pin?

    • @teamblacksmithllc
      @teamblacksmithllc  3 месяца назад +1

      I used a very small allen wrench that provided me enough space to push in the detent pin while pushing in the slide stop pin.

    • @frnkbonz
      @frnkbonz 3 месяца назад +1

      @@teamblacksmithllc my apologies. I meant what did you use to push the slide stop pin out. Is that nylon? My staccato CS slide stop pin is flush and I don’t want to use anything metal to push it out. I can do it by hand, but it’s a pain. I have something similar that I use for my AR, but I need something with a smaller diameter.

    • @teamblacksmithllc
      @teamblacksmithllc  3 месяца назад +1

      @frnkbonz oh ok. I have a Real Avid Master cleaning station kit with hard plastic tools. I use one of the cleaning picks to push out the slide stop pin. Here is the Amazon link for it.

    can i ask for your opinion on Chirac vs Stacatto XC please?

    • @teamblacksmithllc
      @teamblacksmithllc  4 месяца назад +2

      Hey Thomas. Sure. First the Staccato. Coming in at $4299, the XC by far the best production built gun on the market. Super reliable, 2.5lb trigger pull, flat shooting, zero issues, duty ready and competition ready.
      Second, the Chiraq. Coming in at 5299, by one of the best built custom 2011s on the market on the same level of Atlas, Infinity, and Nighthawk. All metal slide, frame and grip. Along with an absolute durable DLC as Altas and Nighthawk. Flat shooting, zero issues, tactical ready, duty ready, and competition ready. The v4 ports make it an absolute dream and beast to shoot.
      In my opinion, the Chiraq is the better between the two as far as value and what you get for the price. All metal slide, frame, grip, Red Dirt Trigger, v4 ports, Trijicon SRO, optic plate and three mags. There are no upgrades or modifications needed for this beauty. The only con to the Chiraq is wait times and availability.
      Of course, the XC is an amazing 2011 but in comparison to the Chiraq the XC is lacking. To get the XC up to the level of a Chiraq would cost more money. Upgraded grip, trigger and optic. The only upside to the XC is no wait times and it’s available in every state.
      I hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
