  • Another Petty song while myself, ‪@sampopkin‬ , ‪@davidmontis7259‬ , ‪@mendips09‬ and I continue to slowly grind away at our Beatles collaboration…
This song comes off of an album Tom himself wasn’t too fond of (literally leaving the decisions to Mike Campbell in the middle of the mixing sessions), and a lot of people either feel the same or have no knowledge of the album. I think it had some good tracks on it, and this being one of them.
With all I’ve been through this year, I feel this song is Tom’s best songs to describe a loss. I don’t want to bore you all with what I’ve lost, but it was tough to try to sing this one. My favorite version of the song is from a bootleg taped of a radio broadcast from a Heartbreakers concert in Jacksonville, FL on July 24, 1987, and my arrangement is based on that one.
Guitar is 2018 ‪@DuesenbergGuitars‬ Alliance Series Mike Campbell 30th Anniversary Heartbreaker I, amp is 2021 Fender ‘68 Custom Vibro Champ Reverb, effects are ORIGINAL Way Huge Green Rhino from 1998. MXR Carbon Copy for a little slap back delay and a Catalinbread Topanga Spring Reverb.
I promise y’all, the collaboration is forthcoming!
