Thanks for a brilliant video. Followed it all the way through and it worked fine - EXCEPT for one thing, i.e. my throttle hold didnt work. It reduced the speed but didn't stop it completely. Spent ages trying to work out why this was and re-did the procedure several times. In the end realised that that the throttle trim on my DX7 has to be a mid point. If you have the trim all the way down (which is what I though you were supposed to do with electric helis), then the throttle hold doesnt actually hold!

Thanks for your help. Hope your doing well love your cat video.
Very informative. Thank you. One question-when the system is calibrated, when the esc gets just above its minimum throttle input (say 25% throttle), the motor wants to slowly spin up with increasing rpm-even when still at 25% throttle. Then when I decrease to 0% throttle-the motor turns off (which is good). Summary: It appears the throttle input either turns the motor on or off, without in between throttle values changing rpm. Is there an obvious reasons for this? Thanks again. Your video series is great.
This is because of the GOV feature built in. it will not arm the throttle until it reads a set amount which I do believe is 25 percent or more then the GOV will activate and hold the set RPM values. And then of course once lowered down to zero or below that threshold it will then disarm. I hope this answers your questions correctly
@@33forsaken I've followed the video and it seems to work OK (2nd hand heli by the way). I get the two beeps and lower the throttle. I assume the previous owner had the governor configured - could this be why?
Really nice info Freddy. I think that you have already mentioned this but do you set your servo arms by just powering on the heli and then put them at 90 degrees?
Well yes and no, you have to power up the Heli for sure but depending on your FBL system you have to enter the programming and use the specified menus in order to center your servos. So basically its done in programming and not just by providing power on start up.

Some systems (most) require you to provide power to the FBL first then power the ESC and calibrate. In these cases you just remove the red wire lead from the ESC to disable the BEC and then you have only throttle signal. After you have calibrated insert the red pin back into the connector and you are good to go.
Freddy, many thanks for your wonderful videos. I have a problem with trottle range calibration on my Trex 650X 6S: i am using: ESC BL 130A (defolut align which is the same as Hobbywing), Futaba 6303 SB receiver, FLB Bestx 5v. to avoid delays I connected out BEC (red and black) on CH system channel of FLB, Trottle signal on CH3 receiver, Sbus receiver on Aux channel FBL system, trottle curve flat (0-25-50-75-100). when calibration starts (maximum throttle stick) 1 - the motor emit 3 quick notes and after two short beeps; 2 - stick at the bottom I hear beep bep - pause - short beep. I do not hear the 6 beeps of the number of cells. I can solve by setting n. 6 cells by align box programmer (at point 2 of menu) Would you have any advice for me? As long as you calibrate the ESC to see 0% at low stick and 100% at full your good. Typically most ESC that have a gov will have a calibration process as well. Once done you just use flat curves to depict the RPM ranges that you wish to use.

Hey buddy so yes if your going to use the GOV from the HW you do not need the GOV menus active in the beast. Also make sure you do not connect the yellow wire for external gain. I use the GOV Store mode and do the 15 second spool up to get the mid range read out. This will calibrate the GOV of course (working on a video for it). So do the throttle calibration first, then go ahead and plug in the data terminal and do the programing for the ESC. I hope this helps.

Hi Freddy, hypotheticaly if i was to be using a flat throttle curve my whole flight would calibration be necessary? I nevet fly with standard 0 25 50 75 100 curve. F mode or nothing, thanks dude
No matter what you need to do the calibration on the HW esc for proper use. You also have to do the 50 percent spool up sample to calibrate the gov. And then yes you can use any flat curve above 40 and the Gov will keep your rpm in check. Using a liner throttle curve is really not a practical way to fly a Heli and is really used for setting up stuff.
Usually with most FBL setups the reversing is done in the FBL system not the radio. This of course does not apply to every setup, but honestly it does not matter as long as everything is working as designed per the manual then it is what it is. I have usually found though, that you should not have to reverse more then maybe one servo on the cyclic.
Can you clarify what you mean, are you saying you want to program the ESC using the throttle stick like older ESC where you basically answer yes or no? Or are you saying you are having a hard time calibrating the ESC?

What heli is this so I can pick up
Can this process be applied with the microbeast plus as well?
Yes they are similar they just have a few different menu options. But the process is the same.
Is is normal to have to reverse several servos in my transmitter? I have 5 reversed? I have ail elev throt gyro and pitch?
Usually with most FBL setups the reversing is done in the FBL system not the radio. This of course does not apply to every setup, but honestly it does not matter as long as everything is working as designed per the manual then it is what it is. I have usually found though, that you should not have to reverse more then maybe one servo on the cyclic.
i just tried this on my HW80a and got all the right beeps but i still need to raise my throttle to 43% to get motor to spin.
I have the same, motor only starts at 41%, have you sorted this out? And could you let me know what you did please?
for some reason i cannot choose the options in the esc with throttle ... any idea why?
Can you clarify what you mean, are you saying you want to program the ESC using the throttle stick like older ESC where you basically answer yes or no? Or are you saying you are having a hard time calibrating the ESC?
Freddy Cordova I’m having hard time calibarating the esc
I did a throttle calibration but it's only spooling up at 50% ...what am I missing ? Yes I'm on a linear throttle curve.
Did you ever figure it out?
@@kf3432 been I while so i don't remember ..but I would so yes..because I been flying my trex 500x
Hi Freddy, after doing this my motor will only start to spool at 41%, do you have a solution for this?
that is normal using internal governor

I can try to help out, usually FB messenger works the best.
Haven't seen a new video from you in a while. And you said you were selling 2 of your helis. You're not getting out of it are you? That would be a great loss to the hobby and to all of us less experienced pilots that needs help.
Nope, I just get new helis and make the videos and then move on to the next one lol. If I never sold any I would have way way to many to keep around.
