    Awesome Video. You got me over the finish line. I am using the Platinum 60A V4 and the LCD Professional Program Box (G2). Just in case some of your viewers have the newer LCD Programmer, I want to share some notes. The newer programmer has four buttons also. They are labeled differently and operate a little differently: ITEM, VALUE+, VALUE-, and OK(R/P). The lettering is all blue on the newer programmer. Before calibration, the additional information lacks the line about Max RPM. After the calibration, the line is there. To get to the extra information, you simply cycle through the entire list of options by pressing the ITEM button repeatedly. After the last item, you will see the option to reset to "defaults." Each ITEM after reset to "defaults" is another piece of extra information, including Max RPM. Using the "Heli StoGov" setting, I had run the throttle up to varying speeds, yet the data for Max RPM never did show up. Somehow the ESC knows the Governor is being calibrated by the 15 Second run time at 50%. Again, Freddy, thank you so very much for posting this video. I would never have understood which mode to use or that I needed to calibrate that mode. The documentation provided from Hobbywing simply lacks enough information.

I understand everything in this vid except on the part of where I set my throttle curve after doing the 15 sec run up. Do u have to set my idle up 1 to 70% or can I use any value in the throttle curve for idle up 1 to get the desired head speed I want. Same with normal.

    Thanks for the video. I’m building my 1st rc heli with a Futaba, Hobbywing and a Ikon hd. I’ve done every step carefully and noticed the tail rudder servo moves left sending my heli spinning to the right. I immediately cut throttle. What seems to be the issue? Is it in my Futaba settings? My auto level works correctly but my tail rudder is everywhere. Thanks.

  • @edwinthomas618

    great video. So how many rpms are you actually having at N, 1,2? 108*1000 is 108,000rpm which cant be logically right. if its 10,800 that has to divided by gear ratio to acheive a believable rpm.

    • @33forsaken

      Yes you need to have the blades on because it will also cal for the rotor disk load for proper rpm.

    Hey Freddy, I Wonder if you can help me. I have a 550 that I've just converted to FBL and installed an 80 AMP Hobbywing ESC. I've set the high and low throttle points. I run a Kbar and Spektrum AR6210. I don't have a place to plug the governor lead in.
    I have the ESC in Store but when I release throttle hold it starts spooling. It does not "respect" the no power until above 40%. I've done the 50% spool-up, disconnected and done. On the restart, in Normal mode, flat line 50% the throttle advances beyond 50 % and the heli will lift off. Any reduction in collective/power results in autorotation. If I click into Idleup 1, currently set at 60% the head speed decays, similar in Idleup 2. I have a video you could see if it would help.

    I`m thinking about getting back into this, I have not been flying for well over 15 years. I used to fly 60 RC Helicopters, which radio do you recommend to go with the Realflight 9 sim ? --thank you

    • @33forsaken
      @33forsaken  4 года назад

      I love the Specktrum brand radios for sure, I have used them since day one.

    • @basilyousif3077
      @basilyousif3077 3 года назад

      Futaba is the best - Spectrum radios always have signal problems at our field and cause crashes. We are next to a bunch of towers so we get hit with many harmonic signals. There's a possibility that because there is so many Spectrum radios at our field we see more problems with them but I have never had any problems with Futaba.

  • @basilyousif3077
    @basilyousif3077 3 года назад +1

    I did the calibration in Gov store mode and couldn't get the throttle to work in Idle up 1 and 2 - why should switching from Normal to idle up 1 or two change anything and completely stops the motor. Normal mode at 65% throttle straight line works fine but at Idle up 1 at 75% straight line or Idle up 2 at 90% straight line motor is dead. The Bavarian Demon 3SX FBL just bypasses the throttle signal - can't figure this one out.

    • @33forsaken
      @33forsaken  3 года назад +1

      Do you for some reason have a throttle hold or cut assigned to your idle up one or two switch? It would not be the ESC because take in mind it gets its signal and commands for the FBL and the radio. I would say there is a programming error or issue some where.

    • @basilyousif3077
      @basilyousif3077 3 года назад

      @@33forsaken Bingo I got it - when I went to Throttle cut/Hold I noticed the Idle 1 and 2 took the throttle down to 0. The fix was to set the Throttle hold to group instead of a single condition. I will never truly understand Group and Single settings in the Futaba Menu.

    Hi Freddy can i set up the gov without main blades on ? Thanks

    • @33forsaken
      @33forsaken  4 года назад

      In theory yes you can however, without any load on the main rotor at zero (the weight of the blades ) the rpm read out will be much different. So you want a loaded drive train when doing this calibration to get the correct results. Just use your safety at all times.

    Hi, I'm new to using ESC, can you help? My setup is fbl brain 2(heli gyro) and hobbywing 60a regulator. In step 2 "ESC/Radio throttle Calibration" says "ensure the corresponding throttle amounts to the maximum throttle endpoint and the minimum throttle endpoint on your transmitter are respectively 100% and 0%".
    In the process of setting up the gyroscope, it was necessary to increase the costs of all channels in the equipment in order to have 0% and 100% in the gyroscope menu, as a result, the costs of my radio are -127 and +127.
    How do I calibrate the end points of the throttle, through the gyroscope (brain 2), as far as I understand, it sends the throttle channel signal to esc. Or should I take a separate receiver, create a new model in the transmitter where the costs will be -100 +100?

    I have the same esc, what would cause it to shut power to the motor. I was just hovering and testing out my new heli build, XL Powe 550, and within 1 minute of flying I had to auto rotate. Battery is new and was fully charged.

    • @Nikki-tb6bn
      @Nikki-tb6bn 3 года назад +1

      Voltage cutoff type and cutoff voltage, should be defaults. Then it will only lose 50% power as a safety net. Double check the battery is fully charged by using the battery tester. When I first took out a brand new heli I thought the battery was fully charged only to realize later I had purchased a faulty charger at the same time.

    Great Freddy, you are really good I always follow you.
    I need some help. I state that on my helicopter I use egodrift 4525HT/550KV motor - HW 200V4 regulator - VBar vlink. unfortunately I have spool up problems and I can't start the engine regularly 0/600 rpm in 16 seconds then very fast up to 1650 rpm idle1, this is really bad but I wouldn't want to give up the VBar steering. this by setting HW external steering, if I use fixed wing HW 0/400 turns in one second and the helicopter suddenly turns 180 degrees. That's no good!!! Can you help me? Thanks for your attention
