Sean, would you ever think of bringing in a Droimeann bull? As a traditional domestic breed, the chatacteristics seem a great fit with what you are doing. They're said to be a smaller/medium breed, thrive on poorer forage, happy to outwinter, quiet and produce quality beef. I noticed one of your commenters keeps a herd somewhere down Clare way. 🇮🇪🇸🇬
Thank you my friend. . What I'm really finding interesting in this system is the journey and the hope that each year is a step closer and an improvement on the year before. I find it very exciting tbh. Can never again imagine doing the same thing year in year out and then wonder that nothing is better or different 🤔
Sean I think you should consider AI for the heifer at home. I worry about the calves that Jasper will throw. Maybe you could put an Angus or even a limousine into her as a trial and see how her late calf compares to Jaspers calves.
Hi seven not at the moment I left them behind on the previous land but they will fall back in behind next week when I get back down. The cattle are on a small bit of a place I only recently got. Although they would have worked wonders on it. Maybe winter round two. As for jasper I'm a little disappointed with how he turned out . He grow a bit different to the vision I have in my head . No fault on him only I'm a paticularl boy at times. He'll stay at home with the new micro crew I will hold onto him until I feel I need to sell something. .he'll not run with the cows next year though 🙌
It brings back memories when I see cows eating hay, it is so warming. Are all the calves pollies, without horns. Maverick is beautiful, my favourite. Will they get bellyache from the apples?. All looking super. Thanks for update
Great to hear. It's fascinating when we think about how in autumn time under conventional practices it's time to dose yet nature has it's remedies near hand
That is some ideal looking cover for cattle at this time of year. Getting fair wild out today weatherwise. Theyll be glad of the shelter. Accidental agroforestry/silvoagriculture
@@timothyryan6218I think she'll be like our heifer who calved this year. Very quiet, sees you as no threat to her or the calf but if another calf were to suck her she'd try throw them across the field. Never saw her attack an animal until then 😂

There lookin good sean esp that red galloway heifer calf.the rain is unreal down south today.he bull doesn't look to have done as well as i expected.
I have to agree colman. He just put on frame and no shape. Leggy narrow yet he has a layer of condition on him . Just no muscle
Cattle look very at home among trees , nice little silvo pasture on that land
There,ll be some scour after the apple,s 😂
Your herd is looking good for the winter coming! Are your ponies still following? What will happen to Jasper? I'm mad on Galloways myself.

If we got a really hard freeze I'd definitely be stopping them up there. But mild wet and wild best keep them on the move🙌
Good crop of crabs😮
I wonder how mavrick will be like as a mother?
I think she'll be super quiet. Can't see her acting silly please God. I'm hoping to have her around the house for the drop of bainne for the tae
