Why are there no boxing gyms? Thai, jits, grappling... all coach technique. Boxing gyms are just a conditioning class. Id like a video of how to structure a boxing training session for coaches. Love boxing. 2 gyms near me. Just want people in the door to do circuits. Not a single technique taught.
Tony are on still in thailand and if so ho can I train with you, I’m a professional from the uk and was ranked in the top 15 on boxrec I’m currently in Pattaya are you in Bangkok
A very well timed video for me. I'm a college student that boxes 2-3 times a week. The coaches in the gym I go to aren't the best teachers and don't explain much. This channel is basically my true coach. I learn a lot here and then apply it after I get through the drills the gym coach tasks me to do. Practice the proper techniques and then try out the combos I learn.
@@afrancis7475 I'm ashamed to say I only kept it up for about a week and half after making that comment 5 months ago, I'm still working out just no boxing. Thank you I needed this. I've done 4 months in a boxing gym but the coach wasn't really there for beginners, only who had a real match to win. In fact many beginners quit, awful teacher...
If you are going to group sessions coaching yourself is a must, the coaches there usually dont have time to correct every single thing on every single person, they are just there to get the workout done, safely, efficently and so forth I started video recording my self over a year ago and i grew exponentially

One of the best encouragements is having friends and family to compete against man. My Dad, Brother, best friends, I want to be able to out do them so it's great motivation!
Hi my friend, I have been using your videos to train in playing better tennis. You heard me right. Hahe I play a lot of doubles and I noticed my hand speed and strength isn’t as good as it was when I was younger, so for the past few months I have been using boxing techniques to improve my hand speed and strength. Coach it works and I am way faster and much stronger than I was before watching your videos, plus it’s nice to be able to move like this at the age of 51. Thank you coach.
I had food in my belly growing up but not a whole lot of extra funds. I certainly didn't have 100-200 bucks a month to spend on a boxing gym membership and still don't. Most gyms will let you join in on a group class for free and from there on you can drop in on a group class for like 20 or 25 bucks per class. My last class the coach reminded me of keeping the knees bent and using hips and legs to generate the power on those hooks but one thing that was new for me was standing across the bag at arms length, stepping in 1, 2 then step back to arms length again. My reach is about 68 in so pretty much everyone who is taller than 5 foot 2 has a reach advantage over me. Obviously I'm going to need to go back further than in the drill when I'm in the ring. The point of the exercise is to build muscle memory stepping a very specific distance over and over again. So that's my advice to everyone. Do some classes, learn the what and the why and then you're able to teach yourself those things when you're by yourself flashing back to those classes and those 15-30 second 1 on 1 lessons you get in the classes.
This is really helpfull, am working night/day/afternoon shifts and closest gym is 40 minutes by car and I cant attend classes 2/3 weeks, so I workout mainly by myself, I go to the boxing class on sparring days and get my technique in private lessons.

Great video. Especially the 'recording yourself' part works really well. I already did it for fencing, but at boxing training our instructor now also records the spar. I thought I was throwing decent punches, but it turned out I fought like a T-rex and never properly extended my arms. I had no idea it was that bad until I saw it. I'm probably going to give the workouts a try as well, though I'll be honest and say I'll save the last one for later. I'm in decent shape, but that one would end me.
I'm from Madagascar and one day I want to have at least one belt, I want to become a world champion but where I'm from it's "almost" impossible. Mr Jeffries I want to train with you, I want to box in a country where boxing is important and where I can be happy doing what I like
There’s a pretty good drill I discovered that’s also really fun. I take a little balloon and go to an open room or area and I play the keepy uppy game with it but using jabs and punches too. It’s good for footwork and hand-eye coordination
Thanks for all the boxing tricks you give online for free, Buddy, I'm from Québec, Canada, and as I listen to you, your british accent makes me laugh, but please, do not take it as an insult. To me, it just brings a colourful side to your videos. I got stricken by a colorectal cancer in 2022 and I wanna get back to karate. Tal I want to improve my punching abilities and I am pretty sure your videos are a good way to go. If i didn't play football every week i would focus on boxing training. I still do 6 mins at the end of my 2 full body workouts and one 12 rounds x 3min every week on the heavy bag and a 90 min match
I learned to box at home from title boxing videos. I had a speed and heavy bag and some other stuff. Then I joined a boxing gym. I had a leg up on some of the other beginners. One of the trainers wanted to get me an amateur fight. But, the owner of the gym was shady, and the gym closed. I was in my early 30s working all the time with kids, I did what I could, but it was fun sparing and training and stuff.
Personal opinion. Unless you have a personal coach that is giving you his full attention, you cant learn good boxing without making an effort to learn and try stuff alone, even if you are practicing in a boxing gym
I live at a remote village no boxing classes i watch your videos and bocxing matches and try to train like that i tried hard to learn by watching videos and matches i saw some progress
Tony: "Step one: Get a training partner." Me who's friends are afraid to spar with me: Step on failed already. (seriously though the tip about recording yourself boxing the bag has helped me a LOT)
Most conflicts happen when you train and master your own style and coaches suddenly changes your whole fighting style (no disrespect to coaches though)
Not true at all. First, you need to communication wtih your coach. For example, i'm southpaw. When i train with coach, i tell to my coach i'm southpaw so he dont change my style to ortodox. Second, the coach usually correct your boxing movement, not changes your style. When you train yourself at home without any coach, you feel you are right, you are great. But actually you NEVER REALIZE you have many wrong boxing movement. Thats why coach will correct you. At this point, you may think coach change your style, whereas the coach actually correct your wrong movement
Mr Jefferies I had no idea how to train I just did shadow boxing and improved skills but now watching anime I finally got direction and you helped me a tone I want to become a great boxer but will you do a video on full boxing roadmap for everything step by step. Like from day 1 to the end all at home as in India there are no boxing gyms please respond to me Please do a video on full boxing learning roadmap for self taught home boxers
I love your videos but please tighten the bag stand that's featured with the brown bag in the beginning of the video. Those bolts have to be loose. There's no way a beam like that should be moving that much.

thank you otny this is just what i needed right now :)
Bro you are amazing
I learned to box at home from title boxing videos. I had a speed and heavy bag and some other stuff. Then I joined a boxing gym. I had a leg up on some of the other beginners. One of the trainers wanted to get me an amateur fight. But, the owner of the gym was shady, and the gym closed. I was in my early 30s working all the time with kids, I did what I could, but it was fun sparing and training and stuff.
Tony can’t thank you enough for this awesome content! I watch this video probably 2-3 times !
Great video 👍👍👍👍😊
Personal opinion. Unless you have a personal coach that is giving you his full attention, you cant learn good boxing without making an effort to learn and try stuff alone, even if you are practicing in a boxing gym
TONY YOUR THE BEST COACH BOXER ❤
Thank you ma man - I appreciate this
Thank you man!

I live at a remote village no boxing classes i watch your videos and bocxing matches and try to train like that i tried hard to learn by watching videos and matches i saw some progress
That's awesome 👏🏼 keep it ip
Tony: "Step one: Get a training partner." Me who's friends are afraid to spar with me: Step on failed already. (seriously though the tip about recording yourself boxing the bag has helped me a LOT)
6:40 Those certified trainers in the middle of the room are really packing speed. 😮
Thank you!
I'm here since hundred k subs , learned a lot ❤
Legend! thats awesome Thank you so much
That's awesome! Appreciate the support Laurence
@@Tony_Jeffries thankyou coach 🔥I gained more confidence because of you
Really enjoy your vids...im 61 and do it for exercise
Keep it up thats great... Did this video help?
I will be 61 in a couple of months ... Tyson Fury better watch out 😂
Most conflicts happen when you train and master your own style and coaches suddenly changes your whole fighting style (no disrespect to coaches though)
Thank u bro your the best 👍
Good advice
Mr Jefferies I had no idea how to train I just did shadow boxing and improved skills but now watching anime I finally got direction and you helped me a tone I want to become a great boxer but will you do a video on full boxing roadmap for everything step by step.
Like from day 1 to the end all at home as in India there are no boxing gyms please respond to me
Please do a video on full boxing learning roadmap for self taught home boxers
Flawless video once again. Thanks for the consistent and great content
I love your videos but please tighten the bag stand that's featured with the brown bag in the beginning of the video. Those bolts have to be loose. There's no way a beam like that should be moving that much.
3:49. That was funny😂
