I'm second les
Third
I mean, I've never boxed. Made zero videos. Doesn't that TECHNICALLY make me (and those like me) the worst boxers online?
Thanks for your cell#, Are we allowed to Sext you? Because you are a Brit, you should give away 1000 squid
[Educational lesson for you kids: A quid is the british dollar, it rhymes with squid, it is composed of 100 quiderines]
How are you gonna explain to the guy that he won money because he was so bad
Tony is such a positive guy and sees the silver lining above all the flaws, great coach.
I've never heard that silver lining phrase before. I like it. :)
Naturally positive people are in short supply in this depressing day and age
I hate everyone
People like Tony Jeffries are reason to be a positive
Nope he critisises things that world champs do it's just a thing that happens
TONY THE LAST GUY PUNCHING THE BAG AND LOOKING AT THE CAMERA WAS ME!!!! I have no coaches or boxing gyms around where I live but I had a punching bag and your videos. Boxing is my dream and later in autumn I'm moving out to Seattle WA for the fierce competition to grow my boxing capabilities. Your channel's fundamental videos were my main lessons I've studied to learn how to master boxing. Thank you for the videos, they're helping many people out there learn the way of the gloves.
Do the same thing but go a little slower and focus and keeping your weight balance 50/50. You'll likely see yourself do better and slowly add in the speed
@@user-yl4nr5ov4c I dm:ed you but all i got was a dick pic.
Hahaha nice man
Just make sure to look at your opponent when you're in the ring lol.
For someone who has never even been with a coach or boxing gym, you're far better than most would be. Someone else said it here, but you need to slow down and relax a little. You're expending a lot of unnecessary energy. Also, you're punching while you're basically airborne. You really want to punch then move or move then punch. The better you get at this the more seamlessly you'll be able to integrate punching off of movement. Elite fighters will often look like they are doing both at the same time (and there are cases they are), but often it's because they are so good and blending the two you can't see the time between moving and punching. Boxing is literally a game of microseconds. Plus you will get far more power out of your shots.
Don't look at the camera either. Visualize there is an opponent in front of you. You have plenty of time to look at yourself after the fact.
Overall though, you seem to be a good learner (a very underrated attribute). Go to a decent gym, video yourself, and start sparring and always except criticism humbly. Every boxer makes mistakes and is always fine-tuning their game. You can spend a million lifetimes on improvement. And remember... Relax. Most (and I was always a horrible offender) have a difficult time with this for obvious reasons (someone's trying to kill you). You can outlast the best conditioned athletes if you can relax in the ring (look at James Toney's latter career) and everything will flow better off that relaxation.
Best of luck!
That was very nice of you Tony to give money to the kid!
Yea😂he didn’t wanna give him any bad reviews but u cld see the pain on his face.
$1000...worth of video packages 😂😂
The 1000 dollar is really more of a consolation prize for being bad.
It’s to help them get better :)
@@Tony_Jeffries thats why we love you tony💪❤️ keep doing what you do brother you're a massive inspiration
Boxing equipment is expensive af, so Tony’s trying to help the “worst” boxer get the right stuff to get better
@@Tony_Jeffries I been trying to text you but l can't reach u are u on WhatsApp if not where can I text you
Wow, you don't say...
I'm sure that the "tough love" manner of teaching works for some, but it's honestly just so refreshing to hear someone of your skill and experience be positive and uplifting, drawing attention to the positives while not hatefully ragging on the negatives.
For me, that motivates me far more than if someone just shit on my form. Thanks for being really cool!
That kid, despite not having enough power behind his punches and needing to get the rotating in way better, held his guard up. With that, he's genuinely above average.
Despite not really being as fast and fit, I really wanna try a round of sparring against some of the fast guys here. Some of them looked so into punching that they weren't paying as much attention to distancing and positioning, making them almost the exact opposite of me.
I agree mate, but I think the free $1000 course will help him more
@@Tony_Jeffries yeah still absolutely deserved to give him something like that.
When I was a kid, I wanted to do boxing for a while but my mom was against it. So I had to wait until I was 18 and moved out. Hope he can make the best of the course :)
@@Tony_Jeffries hey man. When are you going to do a react to Rocky boxing video. I’d love to see you react to the 2nd fight between him and Clubber Lang in Rocky 3. Rocky actually ducks in that fight and uses a constant jab.
wym his guard is too high up not protecting the body. Guard is for protecting the body not the head...
@@coachingconfidant2785 how much actual boxing have you done?
Personally I have about 4 years, and unless you have very fast reflexes you should definitely use your gloves to protect your chin.
For the 'ideal boxer' style I like to always reference Anthony Joshua personally, because he always has a good posture. If you look at any of his fights, his glove is at nose touching height.
This kid might have it 'a bit high', but most of the boxers in this video had their guard at shoulder height. I say you can try that against a boxer, but sooner or later you will receive a big hit over your guard. Most boxers can take a lot to the body, but a good chin shot will floor any boxer.
I love this out of the box new concept 😂 this would be an amazing series
I’ll do more
3:14 was my favorite. Great stance, great slips, great rotation and excellent follow thru and pull back. Also noticed that he was cognisant of his guard.
when you said we may have a winner already cracked me up hahaha
Not me bc it's me😂😢
7:08~7:10 I'm really digging his commitment to proper pivoting and trunk rotation, he may not be trying his hardest to rip his knuckles off the bag, but that choreographed movement over time will get far more engrained, he can probably already put a decent amount of power into jabs without trying to throw everything into the shoulders.
One thing I am noticing is he is still working on the mental queuing of keeping the hands up at all times, you can tell the moment he gets into his head, the hands slightly drop down. He is an excellent learner, I may also assume he may have done some separate strike training to specifically get that beautiful punching flow down, that energy flow from pivot, into trunk rotation, out the hands is just amazing, you can actually see that someone has made him learn this rhythm, as Bruce Lee always said "flow like water".
Tl;DR: Guy at 7:00 is actually great to watch, its easy for anyone to put power into punches, its very different to watch learned choreographed skills that become more instinct vs voluntary actions, and the progress people take to get to that advanced level.
Bro nobody asked for your input you know it all, an Olympic boxer is talking about it. That is what we clicked for.
@@oscark7141this is a comment section dummy you scrolled all the way down here just to hate
@Adam b he’s deadass tryna say he can see when he gets in his head and this and that and blah blah after seeing a what? 10 second clip? Idgaf I’m sick of these fight know it alls 😂 half of em are sone “tacticians” and ain’t fought anyway. Mfs breaking it down in some kind of sports science way when you don’t even need to😂 it’s just pure know it all activity. You see it on every single martial arts videos🤣 so excuse me for being sick of it
@Adam b I get like you don’t want him to feel bad and I don’t either I’m not tryna hurt his feelings I’m just saying they act like thier opinion holds more value then tony jefferies 💀
You're amazing Tony, you really are! It's super nice what you did for that kid, and handing out the consolation prize too!
Great video idea, you motivate people and not just kill their ego with your critiques.
You can't even get mad at Tony if he says you're the worst one, he's so genuine and is just trying to help you improve I'd still be stoked.
That cap grabbing kid is onto a good way to keep you hands up.
Haha true that
Thanks for keeping it real tony I have learned Soo much from your videos. Just psyching myself up for training tonight. I finally took the leap and joined a boxing gym and it's the highlight of my week when I get a chance to train with other boxers
“We may have a winner already”
Chin out guy from the beginning seems like he started in a "traditional" martial art. Jumping scissor kicks, tornado kicks , low guard, chin out...
This video is useful, there’s a lot of “here’s how to do things the right way” but not as many “here’s the WRONG way to do it” videos, so it helps us diagnose our bad form
Cool video Tony! You motivated me to box for fitness and some self-defense. Thank you man!
Just found this channel. It's both serious and hilarious at the same time. I love it!
Nice support for the little'un there Tony. Top man.
The most enthusiastic and informative pro on You Tube , by far .
Thank you 🙏🏼
I love your videos! 62 yrs old here, just started this year training boxing and bjj and i am learnign a lot from your videos!
If I had known you were doing prizes for being bad, I would have submitted my best work and still won
The first one 😂 woooah looks like we have a winner already 😂
Why you think mate?
@@Tony_Jeffries no I mean it’s funny that’s all 😂 like the first guy on your list you showed and then you saying I think we have a winner already is funny coz the win actually won for being a bad boxing 😂
I really liked the guy with crazy uppercuts on a blanket =) And the one that made Tony go OOOOHHH MATE!!!
Hilarious analysis. Thanks for the laughs.
Anytime ma man
I have to give every single person in these videos respect. I have been boxing/training for several years and I get great feedback from the coaches at my gym but I still can't bring myself to post any training footage of myself. I do record myself to go over and review my form and technique but I also try to think of what I would do if I were to fight "me" and I look for not only mistakes but habits to take advantage of if I were to fight me. But still I'm too much of a perfectionist to post something like this . I Really give these guys respect for posting and putting there stuff out there and it's awesome that they get feedback from you which in all reality they all win by learning from what you had to say. The fact that they are putting in the work alone I feel they all will improve. And I am also amazed how fast some of these guys are.
Thanks for another awesome video I really enjoy all your videos. Thank you and God bless
I would also like to see the winner of the "worse" boxer after a $1000 worth of courses after they took the courses and grew from it. I'd like to see the improvement
Awesome video, and a worthy winner! Loved it!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Love this videos! Keep it up!
This is such a good video- I can tell my shadowboxing has improved just from the tips in here alone.
hi tony, i actually fight muay thai but your videos are great. very informative and i love the accent
Glad you enjoy it! Have you tried BJJ mate?
Tony I love how you keep reviewing my old videos before I actually got to train with you in person 😅getting a lot better at 36years old
Brother that’s u? Shit :-/ sorry I didn’t even know… your wayyyyy better now. Like night and day :)
My editor finds the videos then I watch -
The non punching hand in up with you 🫡❤️🥊
That's a big ooper coot lol! Love your vids man. Great teacher
Great video buddy
Mr. Jeffries I agree with your assessment regarding the individual protagonists skill level. Once again you have come to scratch and delivered a knockout. Thank for sharing your martial wisdom.🙏
Love the kid clip, and how you approached it I bet this makes that kid get super dedicated to boxing what a good man u are first ever vid I have watched from you 👍
I love you so much! ❤ Best self defense on RUclips!!!!!
I am a kickboxer and muay thai fighter and my eyes light up when I see people crossing their feet or being unstable in any other way. Those legs are just asking for a low kick or a sweep. Of course, that's not happening in boxing, but it makes people unlearn that mistake pretty quickly in my sport.
That's what I thought first 😀 those legs are asking for a low kick
Thanks tony i can learn basic boxing by watching your youtube vid.. Help me a lot thank you
You have such a great eye Tony
This was helpful.
I've got a tennis ball double end bag cos it's easy to DIY. Just tennis ball, some wraps, and some duct tape
That M8 M8 at 5:46 is a killer
i really love your videos. good man you are buddy
I don't know much about boxing but I agree with you not bothering to untangle those headphones. They look like a lost cause!
Tony is the man for giving it to the kid!
"you are too good to win" never thought i'd be hearing those words
Yo that Tyson clip picking the dude back up had me 😂😂😂. Can’t tell if he was doing it out of kindness or because he wanted his heart and to eat his children.
I've seen a tennis's ball used as a reflex bag before but not used one myself from what I know the idea is that it's about the size of a chin so it can be used for developing good accuracy on a fast moving target
Also could only watch it once as I'm in work but the backhand might not be a cheeky punch I do something similar when working the back to practice a parry
I definitely would have one if you go and watch my old videos, terrible footwork, wild sloppy punches, and pushing punches etc.😅😂 thank you Tony! Your videos have helped me alot!💯
Great video💜💜💜🥊+ i wish you do it for good boxers to encourage them or for gyms to help them buy equipment
Will keep this in mind mate when I make videos like this in the future 👊
"You're to good to win"
Lol
Love this vid.
Tony. Love your vids. But that tangled headphone cable is giving me anxiety😂
Good stuff.
This taught me a lot thanks 😅
Good to hear mate,
I actually learned a hell of a lot about working out on a heavy bag watching this video
Very good 😊
I love this man positive energy ❤️😂
I have all respect for Tony how humble and mature he is able to complement all these boxers
Now me everyone Im disgusted
The main problem I see in most of these videos is failure to bring their hands back into any type of defensive position and that most likely stems from most of these people not sparring at all or consistently enough with intensity when your are getting hit back and being wary of incoming blows it become ingrained in you a lot faster
Nice content
12:36
That second 'ahhhh' tho 😂☠
This was actually halarious LOL
Informative video to help beginners not do the mistakes these people did in the clips
That kid was alright! He actually kept his hands up!
Tony i love your sense og humor 😅
Sneaky cheeky back hand lol 😆
I'll send mine in soon !
Tony a remember when you were the guest at our amateur boxing show in Alnwick and said a was one for the future al never forget that thanks ha
8:26 the best clip sound effect
Can we just take a minute to appreciate the effort Tony puts into these videos ❤
I’d rather take a minute to tell you how unoriginal your comment is. Total cringe.
That was me at :30 🤭 thanks Tony!
The first video is the one who need it the most xD
Damn . I missed this comp. I woulda cleaned up
“$1000” *
* “Worth of video packages made by me…”
Love ur video sir 💕👊
Thank you 🙏🏼
Where do we upload this? I'd love to try this, and how long should the video be?
i keep accidentally licking my non-punching hand when i keep it near my chin, any advice on how to fix it? it keeps distracting me from training and my sparring partner also thinks its gross pls help me out🙏
Hahah
It would be better if that hand gone
you not even trying but you're really funny man xD. but very educational!
Watched this entire video to see if the 1 tiktok I posted tagging Tony Jeffries would be here. Very happy to see it wasn't!!! I call that a win even if it means he never saw it 😁👍
I'm definitely worse then these guys where's my 1000$ 😆 🤣 😂
Those boxers have a lot of potential,✌️your great my man
I agree mate, these boxers are GREAT 👍
The island boys might need this money lmao
Damn bro, I could've won a grand... I can only assume Tony didn't see my shadow boxing.
I'm certain my (lacking) fighting skills would have absolutely crushed this challenge.
Tony, what size gloves are you using for heavy bag? i would like to see detailed video about your opinion on gloves and what is your favourite pair u used?
14s what do u use
@@Tony_Jeffries i am using 16oz on bag and sparring.. one size for all, just bought 12oz for the first time and hands are flying
Is that Tony's wbc belt in background
“Oh. We may have a winner already” hahahahaha
Which one mate?
You can check all my videos here: ruclips.net/user/TonyJeffries1videos
@@Tony_Jeffries hahaha what you said when you watched the first video. I laughed so hard at that
The nicest insult ever
😅 I think my mate who won will appreciate this
Knew I shoulda posted my bag work
I enjoy your pronunciation and content of course
where should your hands be in the mike tyson style of peekaboo? And what position should your hands be in? (ik this has nothing to do with the video but i'm new to boxing and very interested in peekaboo)
How do you send boxing clips
I love the way you speak. It's so entertaining.
Btw bro gave the 7 y.o. kid a 1000 dollars in a video titled "Worst boxer wins a 1000$"
Dammit I’m too late 😂 I would’ve been the worst boxer just so I can get the money
The winner also needs to improve its kicking, they're not trained kicks but def got potential 💪🏻
3:14 this guy looks insanely good
