I started boxing to lose weight & learn self defense.. at 346lb.. What you said about jogging/running is very true. Drives me insane when people think you don’t need it. It’s extremely good for mind strengthening as you mentioned. Great videos mate.
Not to mention, if somebody can't last jogging for 15 minutes how do they expect to fight in a 5 round boxing match? I know there are breaks between rounds but stamina goes out the window real fast and comes back a lot slower if you're not trained properly. I say this from experience 🤣
@@ti2218 Well you gotta train both aerobic (runs) and anaerobic (sprints)stamina/endurance. You need both as a fighter but mostly anaerobic. Especially in MMA where you are fighting either 15 mins or 25 mins. So why would you run 10k for 40 minutes+? Makes no sense. It's better to push for more kms in 25 minutes which is way more efficient for an MMA fight.
Agree, I sucked at running for a long time and the army broke my mind almost and pushed my mental to another level. Shit it still hurts to run but I love the hurt so much more

I just wanted to say thank you for inspiring me to do good in shadow boxing. Heavy bag and Shadow boxing are the least things that I wanted to do when I go to the gym. But now, these are my favorite. My feet are so much lighter now. I can do pivots and angles without dragging my feet (it just flows).
Randomly stumbled on this video. I know nothing about boxing but I know how important footwork is for any sport. This guy looked like he was dancing at the beginning. It was so smooth and crisp
Wow. Thanks for explaining and demonstrating these basics. They were always so obvious to me, but you made it click as to why they are so important and fundamental. Here's to getting back in shape in 2023!
Alot of people throw that term around when it doesnt really apply to where they are at...In this case brother, It Does apply.... a masterful demonstration ...your fluidity, speed and grace of movement is testimony to the hard work you have put in.... Boxing trainer and martial artist here..46yrs experience.
I think moving around or just dancing is the best teacher if you trying to work on footwork or also play other sports like basketball and soccer it helped me get to know my body more.
Man, this is why I subbed. I want more footwork in my training and wow yours is awesome for reference to see how it's done. Yeah I completely agree running is so important. I heard in boxing it's called roadwork. I got to make myself love it and get into shape.
Coming back here after a long time of consistent practice since I watched this for the first time. This is one of the best videos that helped me tremendously, not only because of the simplicity and truth of those 3 tips, but also because of watching you moving so smoothly really got imprinted in my mind and it became the mental image of how I want to move. I'm nowhere near as moving like you do, but I'm miles away from how I used to move. If you see this, thank you!
First Time visiting this page and I have to say you give some great tips. I myself just started getting back into boxing again for some extra cardio. I'm in my 40s always loved boxing growing up but never got a chance to do it because we didn't have gyms in NY neighborhood. Im.slowly getting back into boxing shape and the tips you just gave on footwork will Definitely help me to get back lighter on my feet. The side to side and back and forth drills Definitely help with it. Thanks again for the tips
Footwork, as easy and fluid as it seems when pros do it, is notoriously difficult for a beginner like me. And I'm a lighter guy (62 kg). So I dedicate a lot of time just jumping rope and trying to do some footwork (forward and backward, side to side, pivot, circles around a brick, etc). Helps me to get into the flow before I start incorporating punching and slips and rolls in my shadowboxing. The tips shared on this channel are absolutely amazing for a beginner like me.
That footwork is beautiful! No need to over complicate things just drill the fundamentals until it becomes second nature. I love this style of playful training.
Great work Chez. I’m sure the path you took was rough and I know you had to go through what you have to become who you u are. I’m sure God has his hands over you and needs you. Being said. I think your time to rise is now. You can use all your street wisdom to teach and educate kids going the wrong direction. These videos are some of the best. You should reach out and contact the school districts and tell them you’d like to teach a boxing class for kids or something? These teaching should be shown all over brother. Thank you for sharing.
I really love your content mate, the videos are so simple, no annnoying intros or music just simple, straight to point and one camera angle. I much prefer this content over over edited and complicated videos. Please keep your content like this it’s great as it is 💪🏻 Also really inspires me to work harder in my boxing
I grew up with a mix of shotokan, BJJ and aikido and always loved sparring more than anything. I never got into boxing as a discipline cause it felt limiting but I started about 6 months ago due to new local boxing events. Your footwork is legend-tier and your tips are golden; jogging, calisthenics, bag work and sparring twice a week has gotten me back into shape and I appreciate the art of boxing in a way I never have before.

I wish I would have seen this video before I started training. Such great advice. Thank you.
Footwork and head movement are so important and so overlooked. Great lessons 👍 appreciate it.
As a trainee boxing coach and student of the sweet science am loving the knowledge to help me on my journey thank you
Everything comes from the ground so light footwork is an amazing advice thanks for this champ
The most beautiful footwork I have ever seen. Looks absolutely intuitive 👌
Amigo ! Excelente video. Gracias. New subscriber. Respeto a todos de Durango México 🇲🇽
Randomly stumbled on this video. I know nothing about boxing but I know how important footwork is for any sport. This guy looked like he was dancing at the beginning. It was so smooth and crisp
your movement is so beautiful. almost as if i'm looking at art itself 😌
Love these lessons and tips. Very simple, practical, beneficial for all fitness levels, and absolutely no gimmicks.
Good delivery
You should be very proud of what your hard work has allowed you to do.
😂 My Phones Definitely Monitoring Me But I’m Glad I Found You.
Your Explanations Are Clear & Concise.
Thank You ❤
I think moving around or just dancing is the best teacher if you trying to work on footwork or also play other sports like basketball and soccer it helped me get to know my body more.
When bro started jumping rope I got goosebumps
Man, this is why I subbed. I want more footwork in my training and wow yours is awesome for reference to see how it's done. Yeah I completely agree running is so important. I heard in boxing it's called roadwork. I got to make myself love it and get into shape.
Love the potted plants. You should do a video no your bonsai and plants
Man, your content is pure gold. Much appreciate it from Mexico 🇲🇽 🌿
Really enjoyed this brother 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Coming back here after a long time of consistent practice since I watched this for the first time. This is one of the best videos that helped me tremendously, not only because of the simplicity and truth of those 3 tips, but also because of watching you moving so smoothly really got imprinted in my mind and it became the mental image of how I want to move. I'm nowhere near as moving like you do, but I'm miles away from how I used to move. If you see this, thank you!
Me too, it’s not easy to find wonderful shadow boxing like that on RUclips. Its maybe the best
I bought the jump rope as a cheap form of cardio, but now I realize it's true power. Thank you.
I watch, I listen, I learn and I practice. Thank you.
I came here for the epic plant and pottery set up. Thats the calming effect that can't go unnoticed.
Holy crap, Chez, you're insane. Keep up the good work.
Never forget ground with shoots,..with and without.,RESPECT sir
Dang you just motivated the heck outta me! Good video with great info ✊🏿

Just discovered this channel and the info is great, but just watching him move is poetry in motion.
My kind of boxer! Awesome vid, Coach
SOLID advice......great channel!!
Crazy! it’s really cool I’ll for sure follow your tips. Thanks ✌️
Dude. This was awesome. Better than 95 percent of the crap out there online. Thank you for this. Keep up the great work!
WOW... I LOVE your footwork sir! Wish I learn this.
Love how you move. Would love to see you perform in the ring!
Foot work looks great. Always something i struggle with when training.
"Dance like a butterfly, but sting like a bee". The Greatest.
This man has mastered movement. Great work brother.
this is motivational to keep pushing in the gym and staying conditioned🔥
This guy makes it look easy. Very impressive.
I am not a boxer but this was really beautiful to watch !
I really love your content mate, the videos are so simple, no annnoying intros or music just simple, straight to point and one camera angle. I much prefer this content over over edited and complicated videos. Please keep your content like this it’s great as it is 💪🏻
Also really inspires me to work harder in my boxing
Im starting nkw after liveing kickboxeing at 12yreas learing from u its too good technique thankyou
Man...this dude must through nasty counter shots, with that sweet foot movement!
This is facts I play football and my coach as a lineman always told me hit the jump rope to help with my footwork and sure it did
Отменная работа ног и корпуса!
That flow. WOW!! 😮💛
I grew up with a mix of shotokan, BJJ and aikido and always loved sparring more than anything. I never got into boxing as a discipline cause it felt limiting but I started about 6 months ago due to new local boxing events. Your footwork is legend-tier and your tips are golden; jogging, calisthenics, bag work and sparring twice a week has gotten me back into shape and I appreciate the art of boxing in a way I never have before.
get it brother!!! please do keep me updated with your training and progress!!!!
wow you taught me a lot in this short video and you always proved you can get a hell of a workout with just a small flat area...
