Hi Marion, a kitchen tip that I learned many moons ago is to put a teaspoon of vinegar in the water in order to release all of the calcium out of the bones. It does not affect the taste but it makes the broth calcium-rich. It is a tip I copied from Prevention magazine all of the years I've been cooking! Absolutely love your channel!
How is it even possible to take out so many videos one after the other and then to make all of them scrumptious. Love the channel, i have been binge watching non stop for days now. ♥️♥️
I try to do one of her recipes a week, Usually on Sunday.. I’m falling behind because she keeps making better stuff every few days.. this is def going to the top of the list!
More often than not, I keep on forwarding a recipe clip for the important parts, skipping all the 'storytelling' but with Marion I'm making the exception. Listening to her is my therapy.
Not really to be honest. Features are very common like the usual chocolate faced people I see. But her recipes are good and some of them are worth trying especially those that do not take most of your time. I do not use sauces in my cooking as according to latest research, they are pretty harmful to our bodies. So it would be better to use fresh ingredients all the time to bring some flavor instead of sauces. Soya, oyster and these type of various sauces are just a no no for me. The more you limit them, the healthier you are.
All this time I thought that was your house kitchen but looks like that’s a studio kitchen just for filming your videos, We could see an office just behind the kitchen with you working on the pc and other people Wow!!
What a beautiful broth and soup! I have serious health issues due to weight loss surgery I had 25yrs ago. Basically my digestive system gets inflamed and won't digest anything. It got so bad that I was having trouble keeping my weight above 100lbs (I'm 5'10" tall!). About 3 years ago I started making bone broth. It was a life saver for me. I make all kinds of brothers now! My friends love it because I have made them soups when they are sick and it got so popular that I was making quart jars of concentrated broth as gift with soup ingredients (dried noodles, homemade dehydrated vegetables and herbs that I grow). They love it. But I live on soup. I drink broth daily. I have some very hearty ones and some that are very delecate. But I love this soup that you have made! I find making soup is as therapeutic to make as it is to eat. I am very much going to make this soup. I live very rural but the next time we travel to Savannah or Charleston I will be able to find a couple of these ingredient. Maybe I will try to grow the celery myself! Really lovely recipe!
I couldn't simply agree more to all the lovely sweet comments of Marion. I love all the recipes from Marion's Kitchen. I love the way she goes through the whole process of every dish. The way she tastes the dishes after cooking them, simply is so catchy to the eyes. Her voice is so soothing to hear and it makes me happy to see her smile always. Mama Noi is so cute, she always makes me smile while watching her cook. Both mother and daughter are truly incredible and amazing! Their recipes are so irresistible to try and taste. It helped me be more creative and spoilt for choices during this Circuit Breaker period here in Singapore. Would love to meet them in person one day:)
I literally made this 4 hours ago and it was delicious!! The lemongrass and celery made a huge difference in flavor. Thank you Marion for a keeper recipe!
The things you teach are invaluable!! I love it when you give technical know-how! Please keep it coming. LOVE your recipes! - A fan of your cooking and presentation style.
Marion simply love watching your cooking videos. You make cooking so fun & easy with your step by step instruction . Both you & your mom have such a loving relationship.
Marion, I’ve found only one Thai food seller in London that sells nam kook gai (rice ball salad with chicken). It’s absolutely amazingly! Can you teach us a recipe for this. It’s one to share with world!
I love your videos!!! I find myself watching several back to back! I live near a great Asian market on the East Coast of the U.S. and thankfully can get almost everything required for your recipes. Now, I have built up my pantry supplies and trying to work my way through your wonderful food. Thank you!
Oh my, Marion. None of your recipes have made my mouth water like this one. I’m salivating at the thought of making this one. I’m going to add charred onions and some spices to the broth too. 👌👌
Thank you Marion, your recipes superb and I so love learning to make Thai recipes. You have been a bright spot even a lifeline in this tough year of social isolation/ distancing. I bet everyone who follows you wishes they were your friend. You are joyous in your cooking, easy to follow, positivity genuine and your love of food is contagious in the best way! Thanks for sharing your positivity in the kitchen. Blessings to your growing, beautiful family including Noi! The apple does not fall far from the tree I your relationship with her!
I used to order a Thai noodle soup for breakfast from a little shop in Khon Kaen . About $2 Australian and so delicious. Love adding the condiments to adjust the flavour .
From the cleaver joke, to the base’s name in Thai, to the savoring of the meal, to chef’s beauty, made watching this feel so wrong (in a good way). The technique and explanation of the recipe was just amazing; simple, precise, and clear. Will be around for more...thank you for sharing.
Marion, thank you for such wonderful recipe and THANK YOU for posting recipe right on top of the page without tons of scrolling to pass family history and friend’s life stories! Seriously, it’s such a breath of fresh air. You are the second person who’ve done that (the first just posted the link so reader doesn’t have to scroll for 15min to find it)
I’ve made similar dish like this but I didnt have the freshly made pickled chili and garlic oil as toppings, now I have a new dish to try. Also adding chinese celery to the dish is new to me too. Thanks Marion!
Excellent recipe - I followed the whole broth recipe - and at the end added some chopped Chinese cabbage - mushrooms and snow peas ( to make it a bit vege ) - excellent instructions and I agree - the broth was just too good !
What an inconvenient time (for me) for this to be uploaded (midnight!). The dish looks so clean, fresh, homely and flavoursome at the same time. I'm so hungry, I could cry 😭
@Daniel Hollingsworth That word has many meanings, not just that negative meaning. It doesn't make sense in this context so I found it strange how you arrived at that meaning in this context.
You are representing a 100% of our Thai food with all the details ❤️ I just love all of your videos so much! Can’t wait to visit my family in Thailand very soon!
Growing up my mum would make something like this but with dried squid instead of the aromatics you used. So comforting. I feel like most South East Asian cuisines have a version of this.
I watched this right before bed last night and dreamed about making it! Made it today and it was AMAZING!! Gobbled up the chicken noodles and slurped every last drop of soup in the bowl in 30 minutes! Yum yum!
I’ve noticed sometimes it’s cheaper to buy a whole chook and cut it up yourself, I do this regularly so I have a carcass in the freezer ready to go for stock. I’m a stickler for saving and freezing everything; fat off cuts and prawn heads are my fav, as they are so good to have on hand when you want to impart some flavour that takes your dishes to the next level. I can’t wait to try this recipe out, I have pretty much everything on hand to make this! Would it be bad if I make this for myself while hubby is away so I don’t have to share? 😋
SuperShania81 I always buy whole chicken and cut it myself. So much cheaper than buying pre cut chicken. One whole chicken is less than the cost of one breast fillet, and the job only takes two minutes. Winning! 👏
Girlfriend, returning from the Saturday market shopping: "Oooh, the house smells wonderful! What time will lunch be ready?" Me, midway through making this soup, and the various 'odds and ends': "Uh... _Tuesday?_ "
Great tips on making a great chicken soup! Many apply to any kind of chicken soup, and every country has their version! No matter what kind you make, it will be improved and more delicious using your techniques. I’m looking forward to making THIS Thai version, though- love the flavor combinations and especially the lemon grass and coriander. Thanks so much Marion, for sharing.
This makes me so hungry and I've just had dinner (we had mapu tofu btw, inspired by your recipe). You're such an inspiration! Your videos always manage to get me out of my cooking slumps. I've been adding slight twists to your recipes based on the ingredients I can find here. I live in Northeast India and it's a bit isolated so we have difficulty getting a lot of the stuff you can easily find elsewhere. Keep shining ♥️
saved as one of my all time favorite chicken soups! made it yesterday, used partly my instant pot (after getting rid of the gunk). it was sooo delicious and comforting!! i am very picky when it comes to save recipes but here there was no doubt! thanks for sharing

I use lime in the chicken stock while boiling.clears the scum.
Thank you for the tip!
Looks lovely ❤

More often than not, I keep on forwarding a recipe clip for the important parts, skipping all the 'storytelling' but with Marion I'm making the exception. Listening to her is my therapy.
She explain everything so clearly. She is beautiful and talented, her voice is so calming. Good vids. Love her!
