Yah I was confused when he said that. Psyduck is another non pokeball summon pokemon.
And you know, Squirtle, the face of Poke Floats. In fact, only 8 of the 18 floats appear as Poke Ball Pokemon in Melee.

"Rainbow Cruise" is used in the NA versions of Melee and Brawl too. It also wasn't unlockable.
Yeah, it sounds like the video had NA and PAL versions mixed up in the script. NA had Rainbow Cruise, whereas PAL had Rainbow Ride until Ultimate. They even mentioned that Rainbow Cruise is the US version a second later, so it's probably a typo.

Baten Kaitos needs more recognition. It's a really good JRPG. Also, I would argue that it's just as cult/niche as Chibi Robo, if not more.
It's if Chrono Cross and Legend of Dragoon had a baby, and that baby liked card battle games.

The change of beans to peanuts actually makes sense from a localization perspective. Beans aren't a common snack in north america, but peanuts are, whereas in japan, edamame beans are more commonly eaten in snack forms
I take it edamame are usually eaten roasted, as well?
@@Chaos89P Yes, they can be roasted. Quite tasty too and for anyone that doesn't know edamame is just soy beans. They can also be eaten fresh in the pods/out of the pods.

You got this all mixed up.
The Japanese version of the Super Mario 64 stage is Rainbow Cruise. The English version is Rainbow Ride.
The NA version of Melee called the stage Rainbow Cruise, a mistake fixed in the later PAL release, where it is called Rainbow Ride.
Despite this, the NA and PAL versions were split on this for all appearances of the stage and its respective music track. The names matched their version of Melee, except for the NA _demos_ for Brawl, where it was Rainbow Ride.
It wasn't until Super Smash Bros. Ultimate that it was globally called Rainbow Cruise, and the track referred to as "Slide (Remix)".
About XD: Gale of Darkness and the playability of Bonsly -- they had to set that stuff up, because the Battle Bingo in the game is basically using the normal combat sequence for the attacks between mons, so it only makes sense they made a functional setup for bonsly for that purpose. This was also, like Lucario in the Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team games (Red and Blue) a cameo of a gen 4 pokémon in a gen 3 game, as Diamond and Pearl weren't out until a year after XD hit the US (Japan got those two about the time Red and Blue Rescue Teams came out in the US).

Aren't there lots of exceptions yet he ides of every pokemon in PokeFloats being available in a pokeball? Sudowoodo, Wooper, Slowpoke, Seel, Psyduck, Geodude, and Porygon (1) aren't present either.
Also, Bonsly is technically playable in Pokemon XD through the special Bonsly Battle Bingo card. He just can't be added added your party in normal gameplay.
Yeah I believe alot of the pokefloats pokemon do not appear as pokeball appearances, though Porygon i believe does.

The quality of this video is much lower than usual. Lots of blatant goofs, repeated facts, and straight up uninteresting facts. It’s a shame cause the last couple videos were so good!
at 8:16 you refer to the Eevee as Level 10, but then barely 10 seconds later it's now Level 5!
Level 10 is correct. Script error, it seems; most Pokémon starters are level 5 when you receive them, so I see how the slip up happened.
I re-recorded this line when I realised the mistake in the script but missed the second mention! Sorry for the mistake.

Maybe the edamame beans -> peanuts thing was to maintain the idea of them being snack foods? Since most English-speakers wouldn't associate what looks to them like green beans as being a snack.

Most of the people that worked on Colleseum and Gale of Darkness in Genius Sonority now work at Game Freak and Creatures.

For the poké floats section, it mentions that most of the Pokémon in the stage are the same you can summon from poke balls, with the exception of Onix. But we can clearly see squirtle and psyduck as well, who are not summonable Pokémon to my knowledge
Alright, I just went and checked that stage (poke floats) and a major majority of the “floats” are NOT of Pokémon that come out of poke balls in melee!

Actually Bonsly was a playable Pokemon in Pokemon XD. You couldn't get it in your party, but there was this type-matchup bingo minigame where you could get Bonsly as one of your Pokemon as a reward for clearing all the other bingo minigames iirc. I wonder if Bonsly had the same stats/abilities in that minigame that it would end up having in Gen 4.

There is a reason to switch the Beans for Peanuts. Here in Japan, those beans/peas are known to be eaten while drinking alcohol. While as for the US, peanuts are eaten.

What I don’t understand is why the Dreamcast version of Resident Evil 2 also came in two discs instead of one?

That is kinda odd. The console did have its own proprietary disc format developed as a means of cramming over a gig of data onto a single disc, after all. I'd like to think they could've found a way to cram all that data onto one GD-ROM if given the time/resources when porting.

Baten Kaitos...a game with quite possibly the most insane knife wrenching plot twist in gaming that no one talks about.
It's probably better that people don't talk about it. I'm sure there's plenty of people who knew Final Fantasy VII's big spoiler before they even played the game. But hopefully more people can discover Baten Kaitos (if they ever re-release the games!) and experience the surprise for themselves.
I would've thought that they were gonna mention that Baten Kaitos also has the world record for the longest speedrun ever. That game's 100% speedrun (in which you complete all quests and get all items) involves aging the "Shampoo" Magnus for 336 real-time hours - that's two real-time weeks! 😱

There were lots of Pokemon in Poke Floats that can’t be summoned in game. Psyduck, Wooper, Sudowoodo, Geodude, etc. Not just Onix.
I'm still gutted we didn't get a Poké Floats stage in Smash Ultimate, based on the Mewtwo/Pikachu battle in the Detective Pikachu movie

Maybe I'm wrong, but edamame beans are not unheard of in the US at all. They're not super popular or common, but I think most people at least know _what_ they are.

@@resfan000 unfortunately, i dont have a direct link right now. If you own a copy, or have a "digital" copy, it is very easy to find. (If someone can get a link to the picture, please post here). All you need to do is load a game and simply pause the game. In this menu screen, you will see an image in the background. Monsters and all that, BUT look very closely at the bottom. It will show a man and a woman engaged in coitus. At first it will look like they are decaying or something. But if you follow their spines and notice how they are positioned, you can tell that if they had flesh on their lower halves, then they would obviously be having sex.
Im not entirely sure if it is a PAL or NTSC version difference, but it is in one of the menu screens. Ill see if i can find an image of it. Or ill have to get a game capture of it. (May take me a bit to do)

7:19 Well, it WAS unique, until games like KH Chain of Memories, KHχ (the Yahoo Japan version of the game) and Mobius Final Fantasy used similar mechanics and Idola: Phantasy Star Saga has similar items in the form of symbols, crystalized memories which are used in place of equipment.
I'm glad Eevee ended up as the starter in Pokémon XD Gale Of Darkness I'd rather evolve it myself than start off with an already evolved Pokémon. Although I wonder why Eevee was chosen as a starter in both games.

GC - the system with some of the best iterations of Nintendo franchises, but few entries that were pinnacles of their series (Metroid Prime & F-Zero GX the exceptions IMO).
There's "Mario Superstar Baseball," which I and many others consider to be better than "Super Sluggers."
@@Compucles Fair enough. I guess I don't really consider the Mario sports spinoffs as major franchises, so I forget about them.
In terms of their franchises I usually think of Mario (2D & 3D lines), Zelda, Animal Crossing, Smash Bros, Fire Emblem, Mario Kart, Pokemon, Kirby, Yoshi, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Star Fox, etc.
Throw in Xenoblade & Splatoon now (which weren't around for GC) and those seem like the big ones. There's definitely spin-offs among those I don't often think of like Mario Party, but to each their own :)

Blame the pandemic. GC prices shot up at the start so I'm hoping once this thing is finally solved than prices will drop.
@@wdcain1 the pandemic isn't the cause, Nintendo games are still up to 60$ in price even after YEARS of their release, I would suggest you to emulate the game on pc and then buy it psychically if you liked it.
@@aquasomnus I'm not entirely certain. There's a retro game store in my town and I bought several GameCube games there in late 2019 at a reasonable price ($20-$40 each) and over a year, most of the first-party games have more than doubled in price.
