So fitting that all three became popular. Windwaker the most successful, but despite their flaws, Sunshine and Starfox Adventures are fan favorites now
@@menph1096 Sunshine is THE most popular Mario game in speedrunning too, I don't think Odyssey or 64 are that big yet. Awesome detail on Custom Robo, they really put in SO MUCH WORK into that game. Probably my favorite GC Game, with Thousand Year Door standing with it. Thanks for the fun fact!! Also, I own the majority of the soundtrack. For anyone interested, the Japanese guide book for Custom Robo Battle Revolution came with 22 songs on a CD filled with Custom Robo music!! Fantastic audio quality, too.. Oh, childhood. Custom Robo was one of those fond memories
I would do anything to grow up in the early 2000s again, the Dolphin- I mean GameCube was a really fun and amazing system. No silly gimmicks, and the controller is the best ergonomically.
The "Narrator with a rather un-friendly voice" at 9:20 is actually Frosty Winterball, the snowman alt for Ricky WinterBorn in 1080 Avalance. You can briefly see his portrait at 8:36. The same audio clip has a chance of being used when selecting Frosty.
GameCube was one of my favorite consoles ever. I personally think the GameCube had a great rooster of games and everyone had something. Games like Kirby AirRide,Wario Ware ,Mario Kart Double Dash,Mario Strikers... Brought my family together and apart in less then 5 seconds.Billy Hatcher and Sonic Adventures 2 ... It was great. I loved it so much.
The GameCube and SNES tie as my favourite Nintendo consoles. SNES had amazing 2D games and GameCube had 3D games that have aged remarkably well (unlike the Nintendo 64).
Majora's mask Ocarina of Time Mario party 1 Mario party 2 Mario 64 Mario kart 64 Pokemon stadium Pokemon stadium 2 Paper Mario 64 Kirby 64 banjo kazooie Banjo tooie (even tho banjo games suck) Are all still played my millions and they aged COMPLETELY well I do like gamecube more tho I have more fond memories of that than 64 Paper Mario TTYD Mario sunshine Luigi's Mansion Pokemon XD GOD Sonic adventure DX directors cut MELEEEEEEEEEEEEEE and just about every Mario party on gamecube is nostalgic especially 4
@Angel Akechi10 Half of the N64 games you say have aged well haven't at all. Mario Party 1 is a shit game. Most of the minigames suck, the luck factor is way too high and the single player minigames feel like padding. You say it has aged well in spite of the fact that several minigames actually break your analog stick. Mario Party 2 is a huge improvement but still has some of the same problems and even feels like a retread of the first game. I can partially accept 2 being preferred over 3 but 1? Hell fucking no. Mario Kart 64 is easily the worst game in the series. It has atrocious rubber banding that leads to unnecessary frustration especially in 150cc. Some of the items are buggy as hell (looking at you Red Shell), the tracks are either forgettable or go on for way too long (a few are good though) and the control is unresponsive and even oversensitive. Feels more like a shitty tech demo rather than a game. Pokemon Stadium is fine but it's outdated thanks to Pokemon Stadium 2. 2 has all the same mechanics as 1 but with far more content. You say banjo games suck. Okay, why are you including them? Never mind. I can smell overblown nostalgia when reading your comment.
Another custom robo fact was that your character could give away the watch left to them by their father early into the game by tellling someone it was ok to have it several times. Come end game, when the watch is needed, your character has to make a fairly lengthy trek to the someones home while a unique track plays.
Resident Evil 0 is probably the most underrated game in the franchise. It's dual character mechanic was slick and really worked for the franchise. The story and characters were fun. Just a super solid entry that nobody talks about.
I'm Flattered! haha! Good going guys every new video includes more things I never knew! I loved Eternal Darkness! and I'm kind of getting the sense of how it could have been developed for 64 at first. Thanks again for all your hard work y'all! :D!
0:15 let me stop you right there. I am no GameCube boy, I am growing up with the Wii u. I AM HERE BECAUSE I WANT TO LEARN. It feels really sucky to think that I am one of the few viewers on this channel who would.... Surely I am not alone? Right?
Maybe Ocelot was putting a facade. Spoilers for MGS1 and 2, but it was revealed in the post credits of MGS that Ocelot was actually working for Solidus Snake. Maybe him failing to spin the gun was part of the act.
how many major tournaments are played on a PS2 or the first Xbox still today that cannot be played better on another system? Super Smash Bros Melee & the game cube are still played and used on many big & smaller tournaments today, not something that can be said about the PS2 although it got some great fighting game titels.
I have fond memories of the Zelda Collectors Edition. My uncle found the lone disc in the back of his pick up truck, still have no idea how it got there, and it still worked. I never even knew Majoras mask was a thing until we found it
In custom robo, the scene where Harry asks you to accompany to the bathroom also has an alternate choice if you say no a few times, my sister discovered that in our home at least lol. Harry comes back panting and tells you that he had to face on a few enemies by himself (the same ones you face if you accompany him)
Even with those four minigames removed in the PAL version of Endurance Alley, that mode has still one major issue that makes this challenge cheap : If you get a tie, the game counts it as a loss. Which is infirurating because there are some minigames where your victory relies way too much on the AI's behavior and not enough on your own skills (such as "Boo'd Off the Stage", "Snow Brawl", "Sumo of Doom-o", and especially "Asteroad Rage").
Well technically that is true, you're being a pedant. According to the Cambridge dictionary; the human race noun [ S ] uk /ˌhjuː.mən ˈreɪs/ us /ˌhjuː.mən ˈreɪs/ all the people in the world, considered as a group
Adding to what Greg is saying, works of fiction (like the vidya gaems) often have different human-like races If, for example, we found another human-like intelligent species (like extraterrestrial life), we would probably refer to them as a race. This is because this new life is intelligent enough to communicate with and is not biologically related to us humans. It's a similar concept to different humans having different physical and cultural backgrounds, the actual definition of a race in this context. Saying humans are a race is not correct with the definition your using. Context is everything.
8:12 Funny, the Jump SFX is not a clean source, you can hear a little bit of the SMB Overworld theme since it sounds like they just cut it out of gameplay footage.
It's not even a Star Fox game. It's a Zelda game dressed in Star Fox clothing. Unless you're talking about the space sections, you can't really say you're a fan of Star Fox if it's your favorite in the series.
My Favorite Gamecube Games are Mario Kart: Double Dash, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Monkey Ball 2, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai and Lego Star Wars 2: The Original Trilogy
3:49 wonder why they didnt consider this a problem in Mario Party 8's single player mode where a VERY important victory can be needed, but then you get the luck based minigame "pick one of 2 ropes" which usually ends in the player losing as i never saw the CPU NOT lose at this luck based game unless it was outside of single player.
The ocelot bit could easily be explained. Ocelot is a good actor and just pretended to be bad with his left arm so everyone would underestimate him which is a very Ocelot thing to do
4:05. I think it's because they didn't really convert the game to PAL, or at least some parts of it. NTSC runs at 60 Hz, PAL runs at 50 Hz. From the footage you show, the PAL game runs slower, so they might have extended the time just so the mini-game itself completes as many cycles as it would in the NTSC release
Man I just got hit with all kinds of nostalgia vibes from seeing Custom Robo on the screen. Can we please get a full on HD remaster, or a proper sequel?
I wonder, with Rare's original vision for Dinosaur Planet, with Tricky supposedly being the same character from DKR and with it not being set in the StarFox universe, if they had originally intended the game to be vaguely set in the same universe as Mario/DK/Yoshi/etc. in the same way DKR, Banjo and Conker all had loose extended ties to it at the time.
I remember being kinda miffed when Production art of P.No.3 showed the character using a laser gun only for her to pose at her enemies instead when I got to play a demo at a Walmart, so I guess they didn't have time to alter all the production art after they decided to nix the gun animations.
granted, later Kojima would go out of his way to explain that Twin Snakes is the Shadow Moses simulation that Raiden trained in so the continuity errors might be explained by the LaLeLuLeLo being very cinematic
Quick correction -
We refer to Tetsuya Nomura as producer, however on Final Fantasy VII he was actually character designer/battle director.
DidYouKnowGaming? They didn't expand the time in that one minigames, the second tick based on the Hertz cycle of the power

Also, GameCube was Nintendo's best console, fight me.

Did you know? There will never be a game system as amazing as the GameCube!
haha no
I would do anything to grow up in the early 2000s again, the Dolphin- I mean GameCube was a really fun and amazing system. No silly gimmicks, and the controller is the best ergonomically.
Damn right you are.
Thanks to dolphin emulator for the preservation of the wii and gamecube!

Paper Mario TTYD Remake please?
Didn't know that about Custom Robo. Neat. Every PN 03 mention is appreciated as well.

@Angel Akechi10
Half of the N64 games you say have aged well haven't at all.
@@ultrairrelevantnobody1862 nope I hate banjo but it aged well no nostalgia just pure FACT
Oh I get it. You don't like the game but you acknowledge that it's a good game objectively. Fair'nough.
Another custom robo fact was that your character could give away the watch left to them by their father early into the game by tellling someone it was ok to have it several times. Come end game, when the watch is needed, your character has to make a fairly lengthy trek to the someones home while a unique track plays.

Always nice to see videos about one of the most underrated and underappreciated consoles ever.
Stryder7x is incorrectly credited as "Styder7x" during his footage of the Happy Lucky Lottery
Also, the US version was Hyrule Field music for the menu of the Master Collection. Which was also the master quest menu.
There’s still a theme. GameCube games
Resident Evil 0 is probably the most underrated game in the franchise. It's dual character mechanic was slick and really worked for the franchise. The story and characters were fun. Just a super solid entry that nobody talks about.
Can we get a video for the Switch please?
Or how about a video on the Tales of franchise or Xenoblade? They're milking the same shit over and over again, I don't get it.
They should wait a couple years for the switch one, seems to be a better video when the system is done its life cycle and has all the stats
1:56 The whole Rebecca fighting zombies and creatures during the WHOLE game is a continuity issue itself.
Nice, I got a GameCube for Christmas.
Boco Corwin Hmm… Perhaps.
I'm Flattered! haha! Good going guys every new video includes more things I never knew! I loved Eternal Darkness! and I'm kind of getting the sense of how it could have been developed for 64 at first. Thanks again for all your hard work y'all! :D!

The Wii can be used a lot too for this...our locals don't throw away the Wii because of it...yet did sell the Wii u after the new games came out
I have fond memories of the Zelda Collectors Edition.

I missed the entire GameCube generation but I love this channel
Humans are a species though, not a race.
Well technically that is true, you're being a pedant.
According to the Cambridge dictionary;
the human race noun [ S ]
uk /ˌhjuː.mən ˈreɪs/ us /ˌhjuː.mən ˈreɪs/
all the people in the world, considered as a group
Genus: Homo Sapien.
Adding to what Greg is saying, works of fiction (like the vidya gaems) often have different human-like races
If, for example, we found another human-like intelligent species (like extraterrestrial life), we would probably refer to them as a race.
This is because this new life is intelligent enough to communicate with and is not biologically related to us humans.
It's a similar concept to different humans having different physical and cultural backgrounds, the actual definition of a race in this context.
Saying humans are a race is not correct with the definition your using. Context is everything.
TheHoodyBadger
Genus is Homo, species is Sapien
Name of song at the beginning? I could've sworn I have heard it before but I can't remember the name.

8:12 Funny, the Jump SFX is not a clean source, you can hear a little bit of the SMB Overworld theme since it sounds like they just cut it out of gameplay footage.
Really unpopular opinion apparently but I loved Star Fox Adventures and think it was one of the best Star Fox games. Fight me 😈
It's not even a Star Fox game. It's a Zelda game dressed in Star Fox clothing. Unless you're talking about the space sections, you can't really say you're a fan of Star Fox if it's your favorite in the series.
I mean, it's not as though there's much competition besides 64. Star Fox has had a pretty rough time as a series.
I liked it.

What’s the music playing in the beginning of the video?
Can someone tell me the music from the beginning to 02:30?I have heard it before but not sure where, from thanks
I do love the Gamecube but that's not why I'm watching the video, I enjoy DYKG videos and I like to learn about video games.
The Gamecube was a fine system. And here I am, several years later, still using its controllers to play Switch games.
I mained the GameCube that generation. Don't regret it one bit. That little purple box is legendary.
The 2 rogue squadron games are still two of my favorite games they have amazing graphics that still hold up well.
The mgs thing could be that ocelot fumbled on purpose, so that he seems like an easy opponent despite being good with both arms
Anybody know whats that beat in the video? Nostalgia is hitting me at full blast!
