Season 2, Episode 8
Chef Ramsay visits a restaurant that is going under due to imitation seafood and a lack of management; problems arise when the general manager seems more interested in socializing with clientele than keeping the restaurant in business.

My favorite thing to do after a long stressful day of work is to come home and watch someone else have a stressful day at work.
😂😂😂😂
True true! 😂
Indeed
So real 😂
I play chaotic restaurant games, it’s basically work at home lol
dude whoever is making these titles needs a raise
Imagine if it was Gordon Ramsay
I haven’t watched this channel in like 3 years, I come back and the top comment is still the same 🤣
@@eighteenbat4257 lmao I was literally about to comment the exact same thing

The saddest part of this episode was Gordon telling the waitress this is the 14th Valentine’s Day he couldn’t spend with his wife....WOW.
True, but he can’t spend it with her because he does like 20 different shows, he could solve that problem pretty easy if that’s where he put his focus. 🤷🏻♀️
Yeah, he probably spent a few of those valentines days with the woman he had an affair with 🤷♂️ suddenly it's less sad when you know he's got a track record for cheating.
Right!? I felt so bad
I'm gonna tell myself they have their own extra special valentines date before and after to make up for it. My heart can't handle it otherwise.
@@StuffieLover69 His net worth is $63 million I'm sure he gives her a special valentines day date the next chance he gets lmao
"Our french onion soup has a distinct presentation"
Cuts to Gordon - "that's zero out of ten for presentation"
😂
Imagine if poutine, tourtiere, or Pate Chinois/Chinese Pie was made terribly.
The Chefs would not be popular in Quebec for sure.
Well yeah thats has its own flair i guess 😂
Um gordan was cutting that lamb with a butter knife
Properly cooked lamb is very tender, practically falling apart so a sharp knife isn't needed. What we saw in this video was not properly cooked lamb.@@poloice2402
“Panini Head” is easily one of the greatest insult nicknames Gordon has ever uttered over the airwaves.
had me dying XD
When he held 2 pieces of bread on each side of one of the contestants head and called her an Idiot sandwich from Hell’s Kitchen is also another good one 😅😅😅
Legendary 😂
Bet he'll have that on his tombstone. 😂
@@toddc1258 Semi-related, but have talk seen the video of Gordon making a grilled cheese? I didn’t see it when it originally happened (a couple years ago iirc), cuz I was on hiatus from cooking videos, but it was the talk of the culinary RUclips community when it happened.
Good lord, it’s bad. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t seen it. Just search for “Gordon Ramsay grilled cheese@ and you’ll find it.
He then made another one a year or two later, to redeem himself…. only to make some short rib sandwich, claiming it’s a grilled cheese. 🤦🏻♂️
How this guy is incapable of making a grilled cheese sandwich is truly bizarre.l, considering he’s a master chef.
It’s all hilarious tho, so give it a look!

I don't blame him, Gordon says some really funny things
For anyone wondering both restaurants ended up closing, first one changed the menu back before closing, second one was open for 2 years before closing and selling back to the original owners
Thank you, you angel XD I'm always so curious
Some believe they purposely pick restaurants that are most likely to fail anyway. Because that makes for the most spectacular action (and therefore episodes). That wouldn't surprise me one bit. I'm sure the purpose of the show is the show itself, not to get restaurants back to life. I'm totally fine with that btw. It's entertainment. Nothing wrong with that.
@@WaltKurtz68 its almost impossible to bring a restaurant back from the brink, especially a fine dining restaurant
@@rc5924 i guess the point is that if anyone *can* bring the restaurant back, it'll be gordon
Quit a few owners also sold the restaurants after getting the "free" makeover.
“I’ve been sitting here, watching and shitting myself for the last hour”
You can tell how intimidating Gordon is as a person by the fact that no one even cracked a smile when that is by far the funniest fucking thing any chef has ever said in a kitchen
If Brian caught fire, he would shrug his shoulders. “What are you gonna do?”🤷♂️
His attitude really annoyed me…
Reminds me of the dude who set himself on fire in NYC last week. He was engulfed in flames and just stood there relaxed for a good 10 seconds.
@@deaf2819 that sounds horrifying, do you have a link to a news article about that?

Gordon’s reaction to hearing Turkey Panini is always hilarious to me

the cat at 21:10 is the second best part of the episode. gordon calling brian a panini head is #1.
😂😂
Absolute unit of fluff!
I still can't get over owners saying they don't like the critiques when they called him in.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from binge watching kitchen nightmares, it’s that you don’t put raw chicken near cooked chicken
'This quaint little village put Gordon in a pleasant state of mind...the food ruined it.'
Best commentary ever.
“we’re a quiet kitchen”. the only way my kitchen can function is when it’s loud because that’s how you know information is being shared throughout the kitchen. kitchens are busy, thus loud. if it’s not loud where’s the communication?

GORDON SNOWMOBILING TO THE RESTRAUNT IS CRAZY OMG 😭😭😭
That caution tape was so extra😂💀
Telling Chef Ramsay that if he wanted to cook like Ramsay he would buy Ramsays cookbook!😅 The arrogance 😂
He had to stick up for himself. Gordon definitely can be an ass unnecessarily. Not everyone is going to bow down to you because you shit on them repeatedly.
@@deaf2819chefs are like that in high standard restaurants. And mainly european, my fiance has 10 years experience in the field and work for many european chefs/owners and they are hard, really hard. And some of the things he told me were worst than what we see in Hell's Kitchen
@@deaf2819it’s not about bowing down it’s about getting it into his head that you can be excited about food and you should NEVER EVER keep rotten food in your walk in let alone try and serve it
@@deaf2819 he begged Ramsay to save his business, and when told why his business is failing, he can't handle the truth
@@deaf2819 He's an ass because food service is a job where you can wind up killing people if you serve rotten food or cross-contaminate.
Imagine having an unknown heart condition, and then some 'Eh, it's no big deal' jackwad serves you cooked chicken that kissed raw chicken; You end up on the can, straining to void your bowels, and then your heart gives out.
Granted, it's unlikely, but it's not impossible.
On top of that; Gordon takes pride in cooking and serving food. You could probably say that places that cut corners and ignore food safety are insulting him and his life's work.
Turkey Panini looks like what appears when you whisper 'Walmart floor manager' three times into a bathroom mirror in the dark.
I choked on my sandwich reading this comment LMAO
I work at Walmart, hard confirm depending on what department. Electronics or cap2?? Yuh-huh.
Hannah and Mason's closed in February 2010.
Chris claimed this was due to less customers, the state of the economy led to the decline of the catering side of the business and Gordon's new menu alienated the loyal customers.
A few months after filming they returned to the previous menu and changed the decor. Chris said that the airing of the episode did not bring in more customers as he had hoped.
If they could rely on the few loyal customers, they wouldn't be in the shit.
@@tristanflynn4014they were in danger of failing even with their small loyal customer base anyway. You need a large loyal customer base, not a small one.
Chris is silly.
I'm not shocked by it one bit, they we're only open 3 nights a week, all because one of the owners didn't wanna work nights. Someone mentioned in the comments they had sold the place back to the original owners. After a second name change and all these owners are given all the tools for they're restaurants to work, these owners didn't really want to put in any effort to me.
Those guys are full of excuses. Lousy service is the reason a lot of restaurants fail. They just didn't have the drive or the passion.
Aaron's interaction with his crew is like that one passionate kid born into a clueless low-mid income family.

If the owners don’t care about the quality of the food they serve, then they don’t care about the customers. 😠 Brian doesn’t deserve to be an owner because he doesn’t care about the business. Employees don’t get paid… that would be the day!

It would’ve been awesome in the “Hannah and Maso’s” episode if - during the “it’s time to face your fears” section of the show - Gordon had a wrestling ring set up in the parking lot and had Brian and Chris go at it, complete with wrestling tights and boots.

I hope Gordon arranged for someone professional to look after the aquariums, especially the small ones otherwise those tanks are going to become a reeking mess.
He clearly didn’t.
The betta tanks are way too small, the big tank looks close to crowded and is practically barren once you look past the cheap, coloured gravel
If I want to cook like you, I'll buy your cookbook. 😅 HAHAHAHA
That was his turning point, honestly loved it
1. I can't stand Brian, but I do agree with him that the "panini head" nickname is stupid. It's incredibly childish, and so obviously scripted when Ramsay picks one person to immediately start picking on before the episode barely even starts. Also, yep, they're apples. Cool, it's apples. Do you expect him to do a somersault?
2. This is one of my favorite episodes, because you have these three giant, intimidating bodybuilders, but yet, they turn out to be some of the nicest owners ever in the series, and Aaron is definitely one of the best chefs of the show. Also, for supposedly being a ladies man (in his own mind), AJ is somewhat "dainty", shall we say? :D
Gordon's being childish because Brian is acting childish. But your points well made. It did work, Brian turned around.
Your episode 2 comments are spot on!! Haha
Agreed.. Gordon is too harsh sometimes just for the sake of drama
Aaron was giving it his all
He definitely deserved it. You don't put that much time and money into a restaurant without having any passion for fresh local ingredients. You shouldn't invest anything into a business you have no interest in. I cook in a kitchen and I'm constantly trying new ingredients, visiting local farms and talking about new recipes possibilities with my fellow cooks and Id never even dream of opening a restaurant, it's so much work and this man self admits that he doesn't like to be open more than 3 nights a week. Pathetic, childishly short sighted and idiotic are the only words.
This show makes me cook at home.
17:09 hey panini head are you listing to me! 😂
"This is a fucking Valentines Massscre"
This show has the best titles 😂😂
I... I may have read that wrong.
Then again, I sure love their, "It is what it is attitude." "It's Business." Type of attitude.
I have watched this episode before, but today everytime Gordon calls him Panini Head I die laughing.

Switch it off... and condemn it
Glad the owners closed the restaurant since they obviously are clueless. I do feel sorry for the employees losing their jobs.
