    This answers a big question I’ve had about the Osmo and Crystalsky. You are absolutely right in that the 35-45 second startup time to change lenses or for a simple shutdown/restart is ridiculous and unacceptable. I want to like the Osmo. I am rooting for it. I think it has huge potential and that DJI are absolutely on the right track with it. The follow focus is an awesome and much needed pro addition. I was really hoping the CrystalSky unit would be the answer to all the Osmo’s issues, which mainly stem from its buggy, unreliable wifi connection to tablets and phones. Having to use a phone or tablet for a pro shoot is never ideal. Frankly, I hate having to use a phone for any commercial shoot with clients on set. I used the Osmo for a major commercial production for the NFL and found it to be unusable because of the buggy connections and startup times. It was a disaster.
    I have been ready to buy an Osmo 1 after hearing about the hardwired connection for Crystalsky. But this video now answers my big question. I have now decided to wait for the Osmo 2 and hope DJI is able to iron out all the issues that have plagued the Osmo 1. If they can work out these issues, they will have a game changing piece of equipment on their hands. It seems like the Zenmuse X7 paired with an Osmo 2 could be the only camera many pros would ever need in their kit. It could take over the DSLR/prosumer camera market in a blink. I am anxiously waiting for this to become a reality.
    Come on DJI. Please devote some heavy resources into making the Osmo 2 the best it can be. You have a revolutionary product on your hands, but it feels like it’s been stalling. The Osmo has seemingly had the same issues for the past 2 years now. Every DJI product, from Ronins to drones have at least got a version 2 in the lineup now. Every product except the Osmo, which still remains too unstable to become a true staple of mainstream, commercial productions.

      Agree about the wifi. I have an Osmo Pro, the phone/monitor is only 3" away from the handle! Why in the heck is it even relying on a wifi connection to see the output?!! Stupid design. Besides that, the wifi just drains batteries.

    Does the CrystalSky monitor output a clean full HD feed via the HDMI output, with this wired set up?

      Yes, i was able to use a Neewer external monitor. I don't have this setup anymore, but would guess it would work.

    請問 在使用 CrystalSky 的USB連接 會不會像手機WIFI 會有延遲或是LAG的問題? 因為雖然使用IPHONE連接很快 但是 常常會延遲或是LAG

    Hey there... thanks for the quick demo... question, do you have to attache the follow focus to the X5 or can someone do the focus remotly ? I saw this feature with the drone version of course, but was wondering if you can do the same with the X5 pro ? can you extend the hub wire ?

    • @skytechone
      @skytechone  6 лет назад

      I have the attached version, the remote focus will cost a lot more. I'm not sure if it will work with the Osmo though. I don't think you can extend the hub cable though i may be wrong.

    Why did you get rid of the dji mount - was it due to the way it physically looked/worked with the osmo??

    Hi thank you for this information. I will not change lenses so often on the project I'm working on now but want a as stable solution as possible to see the image and best possible to control the camera with focus and panning. I will have 3 DJI Osmo Pro / Raw in the car at the same time and make long recordings. So the question is what the best way to control the camera to get the right focus and ok adjustments when I move the camera?

    I have an android Galaxy s9 Osmo pro - no video feedback... I updated the firmware to the latest version... Any suggestions? does having the cable serve as a work around the wifi issue for FPV feedback.

      I'm not sure, you can certainly try. Did you update the firmware of the Osmo as well?

    Hi, what Crystalsky and Osmo Pro FW version were installed for this demo?
    I have a Crystalsky 5.5 monitor with latest Fw version (2.06.06.00) and Osmo (1.04.00.70) installed and I am getting a froze up screen in Crystalsky too often. Actually I can't record a single 20 secs. Footage without facing this froze up and locked screen. Each time I get this froze up screen, it gets locked and image on screen turns black and white. I need to wait arround 5 to 10 secs. For this froze up dissappear and get back the normal screen. I have tested both with wire (USB Connection) and wifi (Cristalsky and Osmo) and both connections lead to same problem. I have reset Cryatalsky to factory settings and still facing the same problem. However, using this same Crystalsky monitor with my Phantom 3 Pro and Inspire 1 (with both X3 and X5 camera) works fine with no problems at all. Also tested Dji Osmo with Acer Iconia Tab8 and Iphone 6s Plus and works fine with no problems. What could be going on with Crystalsky Monitor and Osmo Pro? Thanks.

      Sky Tech One Aerial Imaging Thank you for your reply. After hours of trobleshooting and tests with different devices, I found out that the problem is in the DjI Osmo handle. I already contacted Dji. Thanks again.

    ... and to think that a year ago I died for this camera, it's the dumbest thing I've ever seen, useless and slow of DJI, I do not know how they have not discontinued it, a problem to connect it and have a video signal and attachments everywhere ... ufff
