I figured out how to do it but it’s taking a very long time for the download to get installed. I installed AirMap, drone Harmony and UAV forecast after a long time waiting for the download. I had to use apkpure like you suggested but I think it’s going to work?? More will be revealed. Thanks Mad RC once again for everything you have taught me about the DJI Crystal Sky Monitor! Without your help I would be in big trouble!
Thanks for the video. It's a great help. I've used only pix4dCapture for photogrametry since crystalsky doesn't support any other software. But I've had some problems with it since it's loosing connection, stops taking photos, turns the camera horizontaly and keeps taking photos in that way...

Until I saw this video a week ago, I was stuck trying to figure out how to go about the process. Very well done, as I mentioned before. I have a question, though: Have you tried - or do you know someone who has tried - installing the latest version of DJI Go 4 onto the CS with this method? (At this writing, CS is one release behind, knocking out Spark Sphere pano.) Just curious if there is some issue with doing that, or if I'd be good to go, or nobody knows. I still carry around my Note4 at present, so that I can use that feature. Would be nice to keep using the CS for all.

Hey Mad, back to my old 5.5" CS. It seems the CS is insisting that it doesn't recognize my google account on the device. I don't seem to be able to find the appropriate account either. How can I wipe the Browser settings ONLY without changing any of the default DJI Go4 app?? Currently the Mavic 2 pro still flies great and I don't want to risk disturbing anything with the Go4 version that exists!! Thanks!
good review thanks. I have one with all the extras you can get, and just now finding time time to get out and fly it. I have 2 phantom 3 pros and a mavic pro, and the 3's having no anti-collision have spooked the shit out of me. Two bad crashes with both so no camera working on either. I'm hoping to get my nerve back up a learn to be a better pilot. these 3's...man they sometimes liked to just take off and head for a tree. I think i knew every place you flew here. Do you get out to fly much? I'm heading up to the bay area to fly private beach; Stinson Beach in May for a couple of weeks dog sitting. Hope the 4 pro + comes back with me.
The problem with using the screen recorder I had on my tablet was the audio was poor, it seemed to record from the microphone on the tablet and the voice over from the DJI girl and myself was poor. With the HDMI out, your recording the internal sound, crystal clear, and I use a lapel mic to record my voice over.

I do not have a drone yet but plan on one in the future for viewing and recording deer food plots. We have about 700 acres and 20 game cameras. Hi Mike, Yes I missed this one sorry, its all going to be down to format, Crystalsky will playback only certain video types but It will play most mp4 and .mov H264 stuff that most things record in so it should work, If you want if you email me a sample clip or place on in Dropbox I will specifically test this for you and confirm. Again sorry missed this one.
Great but there is NO Security settings on my CrystalSky (V3) to allow installation from Unknown Sources. Otherwise I get Error Parsing. I tried downloading on the device and transferring by MicroSD, both have same result. Will the ADB sideload method work?

@@MadRC That IS truly sad. I've got the small CS and the MP2 (I use it with that setup) and some of the FPV air units. As you know they've come out with a Smart Controller setup to view FPV goggle footage and with the HDMI OUT you can go into a TV set. So I thought it's be a no brainer for the CS because, correct me if I'm wrong, it has both HDMI IN/OUT. In your opinion, What would DJI have to do to make that possible? Indeed, if it were possible, I'd purchase a pricy smart controller!
Excellent and very informative. When I downloaded Drone Deploy App via the browser I get a message saying it won't run without Google Play Services which are not supported. Would this be overcome if i were to install using another method?
Hi. Thanks for your very helpful video. On an unrelated issue, I wonder if you could clarify a question I have please? The 7.85 monitor has two SD card slots that can record your video coming down from the drone. I understand that they take up to 128gb each. If you put, say two 64g cards, one in each slot, does the monitor record to one slot first and automatically swap to the second when the first card is full? Or is there another use for having two slots? Many thanks. Peter.
unfortunatly the SD cache recording does not record to the SD cards directly, It puts it in the internal devices storage and you have to manually transfer it to the card.

Reset the device back to factory settings as per the below :) Go to Settings Select Backup & Reset Select Factory Data Reset Tick the Erase SD Card Option Click Reset Device.

It will work with both craft in both RC and WIFI mode, The Spark RC is basically the same design as the Mavic so it will fit but you may need to use wifi or possibly USB OTG although thats not officially supported but it does work.

I have been trying to install UAV Forecast and when downloading it from the apkpure website and trying to open the file it does not open, the CristalSky tells me that it cannot open the file ... which could be the problem..?

Great shame that DroneDeploy doesn’t install as I define areas on my Mac which then is available through the app on my device. I use this system as I have one repeat commission of exactly the same area. I don’t know if pix4d allows backing up a mission on CS, without this faculty it’s useless

Mad RC pix4d runs fine apart from no maps. It seems madness DJI’s making a point about opening Crystalsky up if no maps work in relation to mapping apps. This is the biggest annoying omission with CS since launch
Mad RC Here is a reply from dronedeploy re Crystalsky: It's good to hear from you again. Unfortunately, we do not officially support the DroneDeploy app on DJI's Crystal Sky tablet yet, especially since DJI has only allowed access to third-party apps very recently. It will be quite difficult for us to fully troubleshoot with you when we haven't ironed out all the kinks, but we'll certainly try to help where we can. Our guess is that you might need a different version of Google Play services. We aren’t sure which Google Play services will work with Crystal Sky yet, but we recommend uninstalling your current Google Play and installing a new one to see if that might help. Please let us know if that works for you - we will be looking into this and hope to make some progress to get our app working on the Crystal Sky soon. I'm sorry for the inconvenience in the meantime! If a popup message says 'Parse error _ There was problem parsing the package. ' does it mean that the app cannot be installed?"
You can simple connect an USB mouse or keyboard to click on "Security recommendation" to install APKs also on the smaller one.
No dice with APKpure and the P4P+.... emailed DJI, this sucks. Need mapping software, stat!

A screen recorder app like I had on my mi3 tablet would be good, but I'm happy at the moment just to use the HDMI out to a portable PVR in my pocket.

Sandy no. You can install the Panasonic app for WiFi but no HDMI input.

Neil Marshall currently DD does not work well, I’m still working on finding a method that works well.

If it requires google play services or is a 64bit app it won’t work.

Try a full system reset then connect to wifi again, that should clear it.

You can use it with the Wifi app however there is lag compared to hdmi.

Does someone knows if litchi would be compatible with this?
not yet...unless you install all google services, then google play etc...because litchi needs google verification that you bought it

Great shame that DroneDeploy doesn’t install as I define areas on my Mac which then is available through the app on my device. I use this system as I have one repeat commission of exactly the same area. I don’t know if pix4d allows backing up a mission on CS, without this faculty it’s useless
Yea it is, still working on this, the issues appears to be the apps that are looking to use Google maps and google services, Litchi will install but no maps and its complaining, DD just crashes out with the warning, I suspect the App developers will actually modify their app to support CS VERY soon.
Mad RC pix4d runs fine apart from no maps. It seems madness DJI’s making a point about opening Crystalsky up if no maps work in relation to mapping apps. This is the biggest annoying omission with CS since launch
Mad RC Here is a reply from dronedeploy re Crystalsky: It's good to hear from you again. Unfortunately, we do not officially support the DroneDeploy app on DJI's Crystal Sky tablet yet, especially since DJI has only allowed access to third-party apps very recently. It will be quite difficult for us to fully troubleshoot with you when we haven't ironed out all the kinks, but we'll certainly try to help where we can.
Our guess is that you might need a different version of Google Play services. We aren’t sure which Google Play services will work with Crystal Sky yet, but we recommend uninstalling your current Google Play and installing a new one to see if that might help. Please let us know if that works for you - we will be looking into this and hope to make some progress to get our app working on the Crystal Sky soon. I'm sorry for the inconvenience in the meantime!

High Flyer - Skyfpv hay thanks for the update, I do have Litchi and DD working now after some playing but it’s not straight forward as such, I need to workout if I’m happy to discuss the method. But there are options coming.
