Layla "The staff tho"
Victoria "G E N I U S"

In his defense Desmond hasn’t always been the brightest tool...well now I guess he is literally the brightest tool
These zangy jokes show how bad storytelling has gotten on this series.
@@blacktigerpaw1 I would agree with this statement if you said it before this game came out, this ending, the whole story is amazing and there is so much lore, story wise this is assassins’s creed through and through
It's like writers cares about modern day plot again, I really missed that. Those riddles was my favourite part of this franchise since first game.
Yeah I’ve noticed that. Impressive how in one game they’ve managed to tie the story together in a way they could not do since AC3
A hmmm yeah. AC4 and Rogue tie together to seemingly explain all that lead up to AC3. Unity is like a continuation/Consequence of Rogue, but seems more likely to explain that people around the world are banding together and joining the Assassin's. So yeah..most of the AC games after three hadn't tried to bother too much with the modern world..
I always thought AC3 was going to be set in the modern day instead of just three missions...but they knew they were going to keep pumping out new games
Yup this game in the first time in a while Modern day story in the modern day that actually interest me
the dialogue and animations are still junk tho
Juno: It will be an instant, there will be no pain
Desmond: *intense pain for 5 seconds*
I'm so glad that they bought back Desmond. Assassins Creed has always been about Desmond Miles.
Yes sir 🫵🏻👍👍👍👍👍
I really tought Desmond died saving the earth for exploding or something but they killed him off like that. So weird
@@ZadDan95his body is dead not his spirit
It’s like Desmond just became doctor strange
To me Dr Manhattan
There 1 million possiblitys and only 1 is works
Aren't the main character of the "Assassin's Creed" was Odin? heck we're even Loki now. Maybe we'll meet Dr. Strange or Spider-Man somehow in the near future 😂
Got both Doctor Strange and Dr. Manhattan vibes
All we need is Nick Fury to step in on the next game. 😂
Looks a lot like Adam and Eve in front of the Tree in the Garden of Eden
Makes me think that Clay was talking about Layla. He was going insane in Brotherhood because he kept seeing the calculations himself. So far, two things he's said have come true: "your son" (referring to Elijah in Syndicate), and now "Find Eve. The key. She in Eden. Her DNA." which might be referring to the image of Desmond and Layla in front of Yggdrasil / the calculations. In his scrambled mind he might have confused Desmond and Layla with Adam and Eve because of the scene looking like Genesis with the tree of knowledge, hence him telling Desmond in Brotherhood to "find Eve" instead of "find Layla". Obviously none of this was planned in advance but I'm thankful that Darby has tried to make some sense out of all of it.
It's nice to see that they are trying at least to give a sense to what happened.
But it would be even better if they could tell us what was the original plan for that Clay's quote...
@@gianlucaf5215 There was no original plan per se. Darby McDevitt admitted on Twitter that Clay had simple seen too many different timelines (via the Isu calculations), and it drove him mad. But then in Syndicate they confirmed his visions with Desmond's son being a thing and now in Valhalla they confirmed the second vision he has (of Eve and her DNA).
@@aver7693 Thanks :)
Its more like layla finds desmond instead of demsond finds layla just lile how 16 told him
I love how Desmond fulfilled Juno’s demands from brotherhood right before he killed Lucy, he found Layla and he awakened the 6th sense
Elaborate please im confused with this comment
Same
No, the Sixth Sense Juno was referring to was Eagle Vision. Her demands were, 'The Cross Darkens the Horizon'. Unless you're referring to, 'Only *she* remains'? Because that was left open ended and I doubt the writers ever planned for Odyssey or Layla.
@@blacktigerpaw1 The Sixth sense is locked from humans, humans can use Eagle vision so it's not the sixth sense.
@@blacktigerpaw1 “The Cross Darkens the Horizon” is a statement not a demand also the “She” that Juno refers to is a Chekhov’s gun it was introduced early on in the franchise and has been resolved in this game. Lastly seeing how Layla is the only woman we see Desmond meet since AC brotherhood it’s fair to assume that it was referencing Layla
this is what subject 16 predicted in ac brother “they key lies in her DNA... find eve”
Wow the thing you mentioned is most important point in assassins creed revelation modern day
and yes its assassins creed revelation not brotherhood because after brotherhood he stucked in animus as subject 16
Tbh they weren't referring to Layla as origins wasn't even on their mind yet.
This just them trying to connect the dots to fix their fuck up with Desmond and to somehow bring him back someway in the next games.
I like to believe The Reader is Desmond, as that device he touches is the same as what Layla touches, kind of and she was transformed into a similar appearance as the Reader. Not to mention how Desmond is referenced in this game more than the other games except maybe Black Flag. Also, the character model looks similar to Desmond and the voice actor sounds the same.
Also the way he talks, “eight years ago... in my new life...” implying the Reader is only eight years old, and Desmond “died” eight years ago. I think when Desmond died he was reborn as the Reader. Now fully accustomed to his new life, where time is infinite but doesn’t feel like it.
Perhaps the device transfers the consciousness into the Grey, like with Juno, and its here that Desmond lives and can access the Isu’s ability to calculate probability. Perhaps he’s still trying to save the world in death as he did in life, “break the code, break the node.”
I think the reader is Desmond as well. Both of them are indeed voiced b Nolan North. I think being stuck in the grey for so long has shaped him from being kind of thickheaded into this wise, almost omnipotent being. I kind of hope that we get a resolution where Shaun, Rebecca, and William find out that he's still alive in some form.
I think it was confirmed to be Desmond
Duh he’s Desmond! I thought that was obvious
Bro I haven't even played Valhalla and it's the most obvious thing in the fucking world that this is Desmond.
he became Adam
Assassins Creed Valhalla brought something very precious we all missed very dearly, hope. Hope to see Desmond once again.
"I look at all these timelines but i can't find the one where Ubisoft didnt F*** Assassin's Creed story"
guys i will tell you we will get an assassins creed sooner or later where desmond and layla are returning possibly as adam and eve. maybe we will get a game where both of them relive the story of adam and eve during the isu age.
Thats what i was thinking when i saw them together
If I remember correctly for assassin's creed II, in the Adam and Eve clip, Adam had Desmond's voice
@@DarthTerrest oh shit ur right

Everyone saying Desmond or Layla the most important and crucial chracters of the series but what about 16? He is not getting the recognition he should get without him the world would have ended on december 21 2012 he sacrificed himself over and over again for the world he made puzzles and gave hints and clues killed himself in the modern world cause of all this shit going on with him and he did everything he could to tell and explain to Desmond what he knows he sacrificed his version in the animus to save Desmond.... He has done a lot compared to any other assassin in such a less time.

I’m calling it. They might use the tree to time travel back to ac3 where in order to stop the end they go with Minervas plan and Desmond lives
The writer had that idea for ac3 but I think they fired him
Break the code :O
@@edishera Yup the writer was the OG Patrice Desilets himself . The last story he wrote was for ac brotherhood and ac revelations the last ezio game was ended beautifully by Darby . I also think that Ac revelations story was the idea of Patrice where Darby completed the story.
god please, i may actually start caring about ac's plot again if the return to that point
Is not time travel what they are planing.
Free Juno....and kill her in the comics. Way to hype up the antagonist.
writer gave up on it... since each game had differnt one...
i really wanna see desmonds son come into the games
That was the worst decision by Ubisoft, the comics, and hopefully they realized about his mistake
Comic name pls?
@AlCeeProd2.0 The only thing Ubisoft does best is to be abusive
Now I understand why AC 3 was remastered along with Valhalla's launch. Because they both are connected.
The reader is Desmond. Nolan voiced the reader. It’s definitely him.
So Desmond is Adam and Layla is Eve. The Inu/Early humans used their technology "tree of life" to continue their lives and hopes. The Time in valhalla are illusions but the story plot is real and is actual memories distilled by what Eivor recognizes. When desmond sacrifices himself in 2012 to save the world he became the reader and is reunited with Eve when Layla decides to become the next reader. Desmond still has his Dad and non video game canon son that live though at least in the current timeline. Not sure what the trickster Basam has up his sleeve but he is more of an anarchical neutral power than that of evil or good. He wants to finally find his family and create a world where there is peace still though how he gets there doesn't seem to matte necessarily. He still has the staff which is imbued with his wife I believe.
Idk she said he wouldn't feel pain but that looked pretty painful to me...
Every numbered AC title had something to do with Desmond. AC III, AC IV....AC V-alhalla...
Might be a joke but who knows? Haha
AC VI-LLA
That's possible, nice idea.
I know you're kidding, but thinking better, that's have sense
@@knoxctry1569 You serious? xDD There is "V" in it..
Makes sense in a way because It does continue the story from 3 and 4 so in my opinion this is the real AC5.
I'm hella sure Desmond is coming back in one of these games, since a cutscene you got deleted says that they will search the possibility of him not touching the deadly globe, that he did in ACIII. The option of him leading the group he has and possibility finding Layla again, being together etc.. Oh, he will definitely come back!
Well, the possibility of him not touching the globe will be like a new world, where he will make a new generation. That's what it was back then in ac3.He had a choice and he did it.
@Ryan Kwon or they will somehow possess a new body using a poe
@Ryan Kwon Basim was there to with the radiation cant the staff just bring leyla back??
I really hope so. I want Desmond back so bad
@Ryan Kwon imagine time travel introduced next ac lol
remember in origins and odyseey where Alethia suggested we'd go back in time to meet her via the animus? guess Ubisoft kinda forgot about that
Aletheia is a villain. She was Angrboda all along, Loki's lover. And Loki/Basim is the new main antagonist of the series
Didn't we already? Layla met Aletheia in the past through Kassandra's eyes using the Animus. Aletheia said some words and Kassandra was like _" what are you talking about? "_ Then Aletheia said that those words weren't for Kassandra, but for the Heir of Memories (Layla).
what's crazy is that there really was a coronal mass ejection in 2012- in July- that missed Earth by nine days. AC3 came out in October that year. That's seems like quite a short time to change such a big point in the story of the game. That, or the devs just had a "lucky" coincidence.
Please bring Desmond back as the main character he was meant to be !!!!
In AC Unity there is a message confirming that Desmond and Clay are in the gray
Desmond and Layla. Adam and Eve.
Are they gonna mate or sum shit

0:41 Ok, that sentence have so much sense now
I guess you didn't pay enough attention to AC III. Desmond was talking about his specific timeline because Juno told him the world could burn and the Assassin/Templar fight be destroyed, and then watch it arise again from the worship of Desmond as a martyr.
That game was supposed to be the ending, because the original writer had been fired. These games were not planned for.
@Max Creative differences, I think.
@Templar Gaming I've heard that too. The premise isn't too bad, it's just the execution that matters.
I just hope they finally got the idea for modern day story
Tbh I did not expected that and plus some old theory video of youtuber's prediction were right that desmond is still alive but in a form of bright yellow glitching code on the abstergo exploration footage cutscene on AC: black flag and the prediction was that he was involved the node of time situation on AC origins since they revealed that multiple timelines were exist
Desmond talking about possible future timelines, is a reference to ac4. After hacking one of the computers in the upper right in Sample 17 floor, his memo 2 talks Clay's memories of the first civilization which includes the machine that predict POSSIBLE FUTURES.
I’m just hoping for a bada** Layla and Desmond team up and more Rebecca and Shaun
Wow... Desmond is just like Doctor Strange now.
"I went forward in time, to view alternate futures. To see all the possible outcomes of the coming conflict."
"How many did you see?"
"14,000,605."
"How many did we survive?"
"One."
You realize with this now being a thing They opened up the possibility of resurrecting altair ezio connor and every assassin to join the fight against the ones who came before.
hardly, Basim was only resurrected because his body was left in the temple and his mind was uploaded to the machine and Layla brought him the spear and helped him download his mind back to his body and after that he used the spear to heal his decayed body back to what it was.
Unless Ezio or Altair minds are stored somewhere and their bodies are preserved and they can be remerged, nobody else is coming back.
It was good to see some form of Desmond back in assassins creed!
What if someone in the future was re living Desmonds memories? I wonder
Holy shit imagine
It's obviously Desmond miles, I know the game didn't tell us but with the same voice actor playing the reader than that makes it obvious.
When i played ac3 and desmond wanted to put his hand on this thing i was in tears saying: “no desmond please look at me love please this cant be the ending no no no” HAHAHA i will never forget this
Same i was like dang i wont be able to play as Desmond anymore 🥲🤣
Desmond is the reader
yes
Definitely
plus theres also this one obvious theory
Adam = Desmond = Reader
Eve = Layla = Second Reader
@@kollinlorenzo3287 well...no shit
@@dylanrinker6831 yeah no shit were nearly the end now that the entire chosen one hero plot has finally been revealed
That is desmond, without a doubt, but a theory popped into my Brain, what is when Desmond alias the Reader is waiting for the others readers to arrive because like we see here, Layla is helping him of reading the Millions of timelinse, and the games we are playing are not only the memories of someone but of what Desmond reads the whole time, he tries to find a solution, and waited for Layla and maybe others more to come. But it's just a theory.
A game theory...
So, Desmond Miles (the reader) is 32 in the grey there 🤨 (shocking) how his essence (consciousness/spirit) survived Assassin Creed 3 (After how manipulative Juno was back then). Also, Minerva didn't help at all back then but made it a little bit worse for Desmond, he was in a hard place and did what he thought was right for humanity and himself. At least he knows what his purpose is now.
At least, we know Desmond's true context about him became the reader as the real ending instead of our context about us though that he's supposed to be died over the game's overview.
I really do think his consciousness did end up being in the grey like Juno said in black flag. When he says my new life it sounds reasonable
Just like Adan (Desmond) and Eve (Layla). Dammit, what a plot twist :O
That is not a plot twist.
Layla is not eve. Eve's descendant is Galina Voronina.
First time seein this as soon as I heard Desmond’s voice I got goosebumps man he definitely gonna be more included in the the next games. Hopefully they jus not rpg
Gotta say, i really got attracted to eivor and really liked him as a character it would be cool to just resurrect him from the bones lol but anw it izz what it izz :p
Felt the same but ply another ac game
he wassamata you reader?
After AC4 ALL THIS FRANCHISE WENT TO SHIY
What are you saying, dude... It's all starting to come together now. The story in AC Valhalla is good, like REALLY good, unlike the one in Odyssey.
If you really "play" Valhalla and "fan" of the AC games, you will really love this Isu thing that has been focused since the FIRST game, hell, even AC4
Its people like you that make me ashamed of being an assassins creed fan
Now comes Timetravel with Adam und Eve? It's like "Netflix: Dark" all over again :D
Ah i see you are a man of culture as well
I hate stories when u fell in love in one character and it dies then it turns out some 10th character is way much important and greater and this game keeps doing that countless times i personaly love much more skyrim than valhalla rn because of all of this im disapointed
Not everthings about you, Leyla.
desmond literally transformed to an Ascended Drip
I dont even think desmond died I think lowkey it was a test to see how far he would go to bring peace to the world and save it and he did it what happened after is unknown they say hes dead but what if he didnt die what if he transcended became something more and is still alive and that's why they mention him in Valhalla in the opening here you see a beam go though him and straight up as if it was taking his soul out of his body
Assassin's Creed Genesis would be a great title to see them go back to the days of the First Civ. I want to see Desmond back in action.
So juno was right on with Desmond being in the grey so is clay there too like she said maybe we know he sacrifices himself in revelations but could’ve been saved somehow. So does this mean they’ll go back to 2013?
So the Adam and Eve plot still continues after all the hints we got from the first AC games. That's cool
I beg you Ubisoft, in the next one go back to the old mechanics, and evolve and make it better how low they killed this game.
(Not mean but happy said)He was right. That Bastard was right all along.
Desmond might be "physically" dead but his Mind is still intact, just like Clay's aka subject 16

Animations in new AC are worse than in 8 years old game, wtf.
All the good animators and the original creative director are gone including the narrative director Corey May who helped Patrice realize his vision for the story. all the interns and ego driven developers decided to take no inspiration from the original games and try and make their own version. All this in hopes of making their 'mark' in the gaming industry. This is why in my opinion all the games after AC3 are irrelevant. The story died with Desmond as far as i am concerned. AC4 is only good if you want to enjoy some swashbuckling, but that is never what assassins creed was supposed to be about. It was rumored that the original story was going to end up with you playing as Desmond miles present day, fighting the Templars after realizing his heritage and completing his training through his ancestors. Giving us all the chance to experience a full game playing as Desmond the entire time.
I feel like That’s what happens when you want to give dialogue options to characters, you have to spend time on animating all those other dialogue animations and have less time with cutscene animations
They DID want to copy the Witcher, jank and all I guess.
And boom new Adam and Eve
