Looks delish Kerry. I'm in Ireland and I've never seen or used eggs in a fish pie recipe. Must be an English twist 🤔 Happy to give it a try though! . Thanks for your usual Sunday recipe inspiration 😘
Ty Kerry made this yesterday with my career It was so nice Tony really enjoyed it so Tmorro we are making your easy fish cakes and On the agender next week definitely the chicken wraps love to Chris and a high 5 to the boys xxxxxxxxxx
i came here for the food and i got a yummy fish pie recipe AND a life changing hack with the onion chopper! why didnt i think this thing existed before? the thing that makes me not cook as much is chopping the onions because I hateeee the smell on my fingers and the tears in my eyes. thank you so much
How amazing are pull choppers! I found one in Kmart which is a high street shop in Australia for $10 (about 5 pounds) I also make guacamole in mine just put in an avocado, a quarter Spanish onion, chilli, lemon juice, coriander - pull it a few times and it’s done!
I used this recipe from a previous meal ideas video!! Love that the BBC have filmed you up. I appreciate your family cooking style, looking forward to following more recipes. Thank you for getting me to cook better food for my family.
Love a fish pie! I got an onion chopper on amazon and it was under £9 and I’ve used it for a year now and it’s still going strong. It’s a manual onion chopper, Telgoner 520ml it’s £8.46 x
OMG that Tupperware looks amazing I need one. I don’t normally cook fish as I’m allergic but I’m trying my best to do more fish dishes for my little one, just wondering can you make this and reheat or freeze? Not very good on the old fish rules 🤣 xx
I know isn’t it amazing :) it’s a life changer that device :) yes it freezes so well once made.. I make a huge fish pie and then we have it throughout the week.. but you can definitely freeze it too :) xxx
No they don’t always come out like that.. I just chopped them a lot to get them really really fine.. the more you pull on the cord the more diced they become :) xxx
I love Tupperware products and have been seeking a pull string chopper as well. Unfortunately, I saw that while you were meant to prepare diced onions the product gave you pulverized onion with only 3 pulls on the string. Your fish pie looks wonderful.
This looks so good! I'm going to try to make this tomorrow. How much fish do you actually add into this dish? (Lol, that rhymes) We don't have fish pie mix here so just wondering how much fish to buy. Thanking you in advanced!
Haha live the rhym!!! So if I were to buy the fish separately I would buy about 150g if each fish.. that way it will make sure you have lots of yummy fish in each mouthful :) xxx
Yes they are brilliant at that.. mine is so big though and then such a mission to get out and then clean and put away so this is so much smaller and easier :) xxx
Hi Kerry, Good idea to cut up the eggs I used to just quarter them and try to remember where they were😂much better to cut them up, Good luck with your move,💖👍🏻
Red onion for me is a no in fish pie, prefer leek myself, defo no garlic either, I would use proper actual butter in the sauce not that Lurpack stuff. Frozen fish pie mix is nasty.

OMG that Tupperware looks amazing I need one. I don’t normally cook fish as I’m allergic but I’m trying my best to do more fish dishes for my little one, just wondering can you make this and reheat or freeze? Not very good on the old fish rules 🤣 xx

A lovely hearty meal.Making it tonight. The onions looked quite mushy after you chopped them.Do they always come like that?
No they don’t always come out like that.. I just chopped them a lot to get them really really fine.. the more you pull on the cord the more diced they become :) xxx
I’m going to try this xxx
It’s so delicious :) xxx

Love this recipe. I have purchased a food processor recently from Aldi. It’s good, but I know what you mean about the hassle of it lol. X
Yes it really is brilliant for the price.. but I can always smell my motor burning ever so slightly!!! Xxx

Hi lovely, it’s just from amazon.. I can’t seem to find it again though but I only got it the other day!!! Xxx
What is the material of your baking dish, ceramic or glass?
The pie is a stealer.
Is a ceramic baking dish.. I got it from Sainsbury’s and it’s brilliant :) cxx
What flour do you use please??? Plain or Self raising???
I use either to be honest.. whichever I have in my cupboards.. works just as well with either :) xxx
U could just buy a bag of frozen chopped onion for £1 😊
Yes I also do that too sometimes :) xxx
Great video, love your style, where is your t shirt from?
So glad you liked this meal :) my T-shirt is from bluebell+bear on Instagram.. they have such lovely items :) xxx
Iv never put eggs in my fish pie dose it improve the taste I just use the fish mix you use and sweetcorn and peas

@@KerryWhelpdale il give it a go I think i have seen American chefs do it 😂 il give it a try 😊
Can you re-freeze any leftovers?
I made it today turned out pretty good thanks!
i just use my food processor to chop my onions, carrots and celery etc. and it does the same job as the tupperware.
Yes they are brilliant at that.. mine is so big though and then such a mission to get out and then clean and put away so this is so much smaller and easier :) xxx

Thanks kerry, I may give it a go 😊 never tried it with eggs xx
sparklekay88 traditionally it’s made with eggs

Hi Kerry, Good idea to cut up the eggs I used to just quarter them and try to remember where they were😂much better to cut them up, Good luck with your move,💖👍🏻
Oh yes as this way you get lots of bits of egg in each portion :) my kids are always keen to find the portion with the most egg :) xxx
Red onion for me is a no in fish pie, prefer leek myself, defo no garlic either, I would use proper actual butter in the sauce not that Lurpack stuff. Frozen fish pie mix is nasty.
I would really like to watch and listen to this, but the audio quality is terrible. Please fix it.
Stir not whisk
