Has anyone talked about the eye patch on kratos that's on the main menu ?
There is a reference to dante's inferno in hellhiem when baldur and fria revealed the theme is from dante
Lol I played through the whole God of war series, and most of the times it was to find the boat captain LOL I can’t believe I missed that, hopefully I can try better in finding it in Ragnarok, Long live the end of the gods
I don't play online that much, so having storyline based games like GOW is always nice
You and me brother 🙌🏽 games like this take you to another universe.
Same
Storyline base games makes me miss PS2.
@ImTrash then you give it a couple of years and replay the game once.
@@niiniiniinii5936 just relayed dragon age inquisition after 6-7 years and it was better than the first time
Honestly no matter how many times I play GOW, I'll never stop being surprised at Lokis reveal.
Ikr
As someone who was more into Greek mythology most of the game was a surprise to me the same can't be said for those that know their norse mythology
I'm just imagining you getting to that part for the 30th time being like: "wait what? Atreus was Loki ALL ALONG?!"
@@Unkn4wN_TM well your not wrong
I had a feeling he was Loki when Baulder got stabed with the mistletoe arrow. In Norse mythology Loki got someone to use mistletoe to kill Baulder. I was still surprised though
Sigrun on hard mode was the toughest boss I ever fought. When she said she wasn’t the real Valkyrie queen I had flashbacks of stage one Mario at 4 years old. A week of playing only to see “the princess is in another castle” devastating.
Well, it's more like a test, she has every other valky moves so if u knew them it became easier, I did it on GMGoW difficulty with no healing thanks to it
Killing the gondul Valkyrie was intense. It took me 5days to kill. I don't think I can attempt fighting the Valkyrie Queen
@@udoborkelly7072 which one was that? The one I struggled most against was the volcano one
@@filipvikenes4429 that is gondul. The volcano Valkyrie
@@udoborkelly7072 it may have been a experience gap but i found gondoul considrably harder than sigrun. gondoul was the second valkyre i fought right after gunnr. what helped out a great deal was dodging her wing thrust in the right direction and realizing that atreus's arrows can inturrupt her ground slam attach that has a huge aoe and a grab at the end if i remember the attack correctly
I suspect that Faye meant for the journey to lead to Ragnarok as revenge against Asgard. The giants’ foresight abilities were described as unsurpassed, and they were the first to foresee Ragnarok, which probably led to the war between them and the Aesir. Faye was said to have caused a lot of trouble for Asgard, but it probably wasn’t enough to save her people. But her people’s foresight meant that she knew that the Aesir would perish in Ragnarok. And when you consider that Kratos’ actions triggered Fimbulwinter a hundred years early, I think it’s fair to assume that Faye meant for her death to be the ultimate revenge against Asgard.
if so, that's kinda shitty of her as a mother. "hey, i'm gonna force you and your absent father to bond and become very close on a road trip after my death only for it to trigger you losing ANOTHER beloved parent! a parent who would've been a distant figure before all this!" sure maybe it would gain her points for long game strategy, but lose a bunch as a parent and wife
@@QuestionableLifeChoices it did seem like the best way to bring them together. What else could she have done to accomplish that goal?
@@QuestionableLifeChoices Umbrella Academy vibes
Nah, it was her way of saving the world (it's in chaos thanks to Odin's paranoia) while forcing/accelerating the bonding of the two people she cared about most--broken people whom she wanted to protect....
@@SanguineMalcontent saving the world by destroying Asgard.
One Easter Egg everyone missed or doesn't get talked about enough is Mimir in Tyrs temple telling Atreus he knows of other God's far away in a desert. I believe we may be seeing an Egyptian God of war in the next 10-12 Years!
Yes to this please.
Out of all possibilities after Ragnarok that’s by far the most fascinating to me. Can you imagine the beautiful Egyptian gods made by these top notch game developers? They’d be INSANE!! I imagine how badass Anubis would look and I can guarantee it’d be extremely refreshing and unique. They’d find a way to make Anubis super unique and “new”. Same with all of Egypt.
When descending into Tyr's Temple there is a wall hanging with at least three different culture's that Tyr has visited: Egyptian, Japanese, and Inca/Mayan.
I tried to beat the Valkyrie Queen and it was too much. It’s good to see what happened after.
I had the same issue. I got so close to defeating her, but then she stepped up the speed of her attacks, and I was overwhelmed. After that, I couldn't even get her to half health before she killed me. And that's all I had left to do before getting 100%. Such 🐂💩 her skills and level grow to match yours, so the stronger and more leveled up you are, the more difficult she is.
@@kennethmoore625 yo I didn’t know that. Thank God I didn’t waste time trying to level up. I almost did. But I was right at the end and had been playing for so long.
You need high runics and just level 7!..not telling about give me god of war difficulty though!..It may be tough but hmm took me around 8 days of grinding armour and runic attacks
It's really a fight of repetition. She has all the attacks of the other ones so youve seen them before. Took me about 10 tries to beat her once I realized that
@@ShermanBMason
Get gud 🗿
You forgot to mention that the yellow necklace freya wore had a rune on it which says Baldur.
8:10 A tiny slip; Laufey (pronounced lau-voy) is actually an aesir, not a frost-giantess. Which make Loki's parentage very special, because most of the time, it's the male aesir that marry a jotun female and bring her into the aesir family, not the other way around. Hence why Loki is refered to as Loki, Son of Laufey, despite the Norse refering to someone as being a son of their father, not mother, as Laufey's status as an aesir weight more than Farbauti's status as the father, and is the reason why Farbauti is rarely ever mentioned in the source (he is mentioned only twice, both time as father of Loki)
She is a giantess that is said in the game multiple times. Everything you just wrote is pure headcanon
@@johannesschult4170 Hi. If you have Prose Edda, you can flip to Gylfaginning chapter of it. It has what I said in it. It was written in 1200's. Hope this help.
@@PimsriYotube the actuall mythology is not the lore of the game. He is talking about the game and in said game it is clearly confirmed that she was a giant. If she wouldn‘t be atreus could not be half god and half giant. Kratos is a greece God and fey was a jötunn. We are not talking about actuall real world myths here
@@johannesschult4170 I guess I could have been more clear that I was talking about the source.
@@PimsriYotube the thing is you said he made a tiny slip. But he did not because she is a giant
A couple of Easter Eggs you missed:
When Atreus asks Mimir about his past, the head reveals that his first job was for a faerie king, and that he and his band were known as "Goodfellows." This is an indication that Mimir is none other than Robin Goodfellow, that merry sprite also called Puck, who is featured prominently in Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream."
When the wall reliefs are revealed at the end of the game, players get to see one which has yet to come to pass: Atreus cradling a fallen Kratos as what looks like Jormungandr emerges from his mouth. But many players miss that there is another relief beyond that, one depicting Atreus traveling without Kratos, but accompanied by three wolves.
After the reveal of Tyr for the next game I have a theory that he isn't cradling Kratos but actually Tyr. You see that he's missing an arm and that's accurate to Norse myth regarding Tyr.
@@tinky_xiii9285 not true.
I feel like that bald guy Atreus is cradling wasn’t Kratos, it was the bald Mimir with a new body.
@@PlayshotKalo nah, look at his arms. That's the big hint. Not kratos, not mimir.
Its cool how he never fails to entertain us + never disappoints, and vids are so damm good
The great thing god of war did was Loki was still the cause of baldars death cause the mistletoe was in his quiver stap
maybe the mom messed with the strap so it'd break and since she could see the future she knew kratos would put a mistletoe piece there. jus a theory
@@jazelgalaviz9450 honestly that would make it less cool than it being a coincidence
Never thought that there's more Easter Eggs in the Game that I missed, once I find the Time I'm definitely going to play the God of War Games in Chronological Order.
Also to note about Farbauti the name translates to dangerous striker, among other variations, but all can be used to describe Kratos accurately.
I thought it was cruel striker
@@nickk6501 it has many variations including cruel striker
🎁🎁👆👆👆..
I mean, the only part of his past that he's actually proud of is his military career, makes sense that the leather skirt is the only thing he still wears openly
Mimir is not an Easter egg it’s literally his function to tell you stuff, literally the only reason he’s in the game
Also to make you laugh without him god of war wouldn’t be nearly as fun I love the lad
90% of these are just story beats that you reach naturally in the game
hes not talking about mimir himself, just his storys in alfiem as aside from the valkerie there no reason to go back there with him so it missable lore
Ok. A little correction about the turtle Charlie. The other members included that name and just said to Cory to trust them. When the game was finished and he played and came across that section, he laughed and enjoyed it!!
Nope. It's because one of the articles about GOW 2018 before it came out randomly named Atreus "Charlie". Cory Barlog decided to include it because he found it really funny.
I swear to god those valkyries almost make elden ring feel easy 😂
Valkyrie Queen Vs Malenia when
True unless it's NG+7 then Elden Ring is harder.
Another interesting one lies in Tyr’s temple, in the scene where Kratos finds a vase from his homeland with a drawing of him on it, right before that, he throws away a stone with Egyptian text written on it, hinting where he will go after Ragnarok
If your a game reviewer or RUclipsr who got this game early, most often they have what I call "on camera review anxiety". Nothing wrong with it. But a real player loves to delve into the story that they are playing. And most likely already caught ALL of these.
Bro i was genuinely upset when i finished all of mimirs tales
Farbauti translates to "Angry Striker" .... a very fitting name for Kratos.
You can not 100% Alfheim on your first visit. If you want to 100% it you need to go back with Mimir on you.
Not really "Easter Eggs". Most of it just part of the story.
In Norse mythology Laufey is actually not a giant but a goddess, it’s Loki’s father Farbauti that is a giant.
Farbauti does mean "angry striker" so that at least tracks for Kratos.
Another name fact is Kratos's axe being named Leviathan is a reference to Loki's weapon in Norse mythology Laevateinn (no etymological relation though).
And y’all seemingly missed that Mimir is actually Puck best known from Shakespeare's A Midsummer’s Night Dream.
Santa monica never follows the actual lore of mythologies.
If you zoom in on Freya's pendant it says "Baldur" in runes
Man, I'm just here after beating Ragnarok and I'm impatiently waiting for New Game Plus lol. Can't get enough of this series.
I was thinking what if Atreus gets his own game after Kratos dies and it’s titled God of Mischief? Idk just an idea
Man I literally commented the same thing on another video like 6 days ago 😂
My last video actually explains what's after ragnarok. And the proof is all in the 2018 game.
Ew
My fav game ever. Can't wait for Ragnorok.
If u cant wait for ragnarok then your gonna definitely love my last video
Don’t know if it’s an Easter egg but there’s an armor set based off of the cod of war skin from god of war 2
That fayes path one really got me cause ive replayed the game multiple times and i never made that connection
that intro cutescene isn't even God of War 2018
In gow 1,when kratos was Trying to secure Pandora's box there's a drawing of a man fighting Zeus and it was saying a picture of a future. It's a prediction of gow 3
U guys late on this one. Lol
Why does the first GOW look so much better than this sequel?
Stick to movie and videos.
All these have been know.
Best part is when you unlock the blades, new weapon is great, and one of the best cutscenes fs
I was ligit wondering about this and why he always has the leather straps tnx mojo
I showed that big blue dragon to my cat and he scared and used his claw on me
The sash Atreus wears is only part of the loincloth
The other part surrounds the blades in his house is the rest
What players didn't get that the yellow paint was placed there!?! That was the most obvious thing in a game ever
This is no Easter egg list. Clickbait!!!!
Thought you said you were gonna show us something we missed?
In my last video i show EVERYTHING we missed in 2018s game. Come have a seat at the dinner table. Let me cook!
In yottenheim the last panel that has the picture of Loki Holden Kratos if you look at that after the cut scene and the banister's drop down and the bottom right corner you can see that it predicts Loki being able to do something with the wolves in the next game
I was wondering all game where the hell Loki was. I really didn't see that one coming.
How can the golden path be "an easter egg we totally missed" when IT'S LITERALLY SAID ON THE FUCKING GAME.
For ffs, WatchMojo writers are getting worse and lazier every video
This the 2nd gaming channel to say sum about Gow we getting info soon
Dear MojoPlays and Mojo team,
Could you please upload your awesome videos in glorious 4K?
A lot of people watch RUclips on their laptops and big screens!
Thanks 😊
Stop Calling It 2018 God Of War, It's God Of War 4!!!!!!!
Also in gow 3 there are notes from the boat captain
I don’t agree with your picks, many of them were not even Easter eggs and just facts or items within the story and side content. Like how is a normal findable axe pommel an Easter egg? Spoiler it’s not
I didn't miss any of these
Should rename the video 13 minutes of useless babbling with God of War clips in the background
I killed 5 Valkrie's. And then my 7yr. Old deleted it. Haven't been able to get back to that level
And now the 7 year old lives in the basement 😂😂 jk bro I’m sure you’re a good dad 😆

@@tinky_xiii9285 even if I had I probably would have to reset the difficulty... so much time and effort that I just don't have r.n
@@markofthedevil845 why would it reset the difficulty? Just to be clear im not trying to diss on you, I legitimately feel for you that you lost your progress..
Climbing markers is nor an Easter egg, and how would it go over a lot of players heads if it literally is talked about by Atreus before the very end of the story
so, what are the easter eggs?
Faye is the reason I'm climbing up and down some wall I can just jump off???????????????????
Title: "everything you missed"
Video: "everything you already know"
Viewers: " 😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐 "
you missed one, there was one panel in the game depicting the next pantheon kratos will be going. egypt and japan.
Black armor, how'd get it??
Honestly, the whole "this went over a good number of gamers heads" it only went over the bandwagon jumpers that have no been fans of gow since the beginning
If Atreus is Loki that means allegorically speaking Kratos is ODIN
8:49 Since my first run of gow I was watching gow videos and I saw “Secret Pommel” I clicked it and I followed the steps and then I got the item
can someone explain to me then why there was that rock depiction in there backyard? or how it got there even
Man how are u guys still in business? 🤦
Who "TOTALLY" missed any of those. What a clickbait
How did he manage to get it on Xbox? Like how is he clicking B
Freya threatening kratos isn't the first time he's been threatened by a God. Though it's probably been the first time in a long time since he left Greece in ruins.
I hate when games call the fourth game god of war or doom just put the 4 at the end
9:56 what does that say is that a reference to future
there was a in game way to figure out how to get the forbidden grip of the ages?
Who else here is so excited for god of war ragnorock their just consuming any bit of gow content you can find ( I can’t play gow 2018 again I’ve already played 5 times )
00:01 bruh it says that this scene is from god of war 2018
Here’s a Easter egg when bolder was killed it was by the hand of Loki arrow like in the books
Easter eggs are not the same as secrets . Half of these are just secrets
I always thought that baulder was looking for Loki, the last giant. Not kratos or atreaus's mother
"Little spartans", gods have more than one?
I don't wanna be negative but my man mr. Narrator sounds super lazy, just saying .
Extra dialogue in alfheim is not an easter egg
Freya being the valkyrie queen is not an easter egg, it’s a fact within a side story of the game
Their also Valkyrie wings hanging behind a curtain in hideout
Damn bro you have seen it to
@@ddrbaby2774 yes I have seen it. That really blow my mind
TELL US ABT THE COD OF WAR ARMOR
"Spelling armor"
Laufey wasn't a frost giant. That shit comes from Marvel. Jotunr were just regular giants.
lol i don't think faye outlined every climable, I think that hand print was just to show that faye knew they would get to jotunheim.
I'm proud of myself for getting boat captain easter egg
An axe pommel is not an Easter egg
Me having 100% the game: “gee I wonder what I missed 🤔
Ok I’m confused, I never saw the trailer for god of war ragnarok but when you showed that clip of Freya it just confused me, how can Freya attack Kratos when she was cursed by Odin to never harm anything ever again?
Looks like the curse Is broken because in the trailer she actually transformed into an animal which the curse stopped Freya from doing that as well
@@D.The1st she turned into an eagle in GoW4 as well
@@D.The1st the curse never stopped her from turning into an animal. She turned into an animal in the 2018 game. Remember? As a matter of fact, how did u even forget that? Come on man we gotta *STOP* just saying random things man. This causes confusion.
@@cookingwithkratos I swear I saw a youtouber say that..and when did she turn into an animal it's been a long time since I played
@@D.The1st before the last fight with baldur, the world serpent falls over and freya descends from the sky to see what happens, while in the form of an eagle. (She was looking for her son. Says she felt his presence in Midgard.) It’s very sudden tbh
Theres also a note from the captain in gow 3
what was that very last clip at the end of the video from?
This is why mojo gets on my nerves... They spit out a bunch of crap clickbait titles just to get you to click on their videos. None of this is new we've known about it since the game came out... Am I the only one to realize this???
Nope, you're not the only one. Half of their "easter eggs" are just parts of the main story, impossible to miss. The other half are secrets that have been out for years... This is just clickbait, pure and simple.
I knew all of these, pretty hard to miss them as most of them are literally spelled out in the main objectives of the game. Only 2-4 that are actual Easter eggs. Then I looked at the channel name and realized why the video was misleading and disappointing
i missed none of these
How many more God of War videos will MojoPlays have available?
You missed something on the wall at the end. Loki absorbing the power of Kratos
That is just a theorie from you. Nothing he missed. Cory himself said that they Never intended for people to believe that this is kratos.
These are duhs
I just realized that Kratos thought that Baldur was looking for the ghost of Sparta due to for him to say "long way from home Aren't you" so Kratos could've thought he's talking about Sparta and the reason Kratos said at the end of the fight "How did he find me after all this time?" thinking he is a reincarnation of Zeus, and this is a myth and I have a little proof just a little
No, that's literally what the game runs on until you learn the truth
"Atleast we hope its white paint"
Is no one gonna talk about how he has Xbox buttons
He is playing on pc I know because I just finished god of war 2018 for the first time on my rog ally pc handheld and I had xbox buttons
these are not easter eggs.......
