I watched closely as you pulled those first pockets off without a hitch. On the second pockets, I slowed the speed of the video down and watched again. It was so helpful that you did it again. You are precise without being the quilt police, and you are stern about details without losing your friendy demeanor. It is a true talent and gift that I am so grateful you share. This project first got me to your channel, about a year ago, and since then I have probably watched 50 of your videos. Insomniac caught my attention because I am up sewing at 230 in the morning sometimes. Just enjoying the process, much like I feel you do too.
One of the best videos I’ve ever seen. You don’t skip ahead with the sections we need and do a great job with showing your process. Can’t wait to make this one.
This is the second tutorial that I've followed in as many days. You are such a better instructor!!! I didn't have to unpick anything. Thank you so much for all you do!!
I agree. This is the best bag video on RUclips! You show the magnetic snaps and the zippers and everything that intimidates people. Really appreciate it. I thank you so much for making this video! You explain things really well also! 😊
You have shown me a new way to measure on my cutting board. Everyone else I've watched measure from the bottom numbers and it always end up off a bit but this way of measuring and cutting has given me hope as a newbie.
I’m a visual learner so I really appreciate your step by step instructions they’re so helpful no guess work and the bag is so cute. Thanks for taking the time.
Tiffany, what can I say!?! You are the most clear, patient, and precise teacher on RUclips!!. I am a newbie to both quilting and bag making. I've tried other websites, but they are either too quick to understand or they don't cover everything for someone like me! I need to be shown over and over until I get it!! 😆 🤣. I absolutely love the rewind button!!! 😅😂. Thank you so much once again for your patient attitude and your clear instructions!!. I love how you can see things and just get them done!! Brilliant!!!! Orinthia xxxxxx
Tiffany I can honestly say I learn something new everytime I watch you. Today was our last day to go get our quilt blocks because the store is closing in October. Ran across a lady from ness city, Kansas that apparently is a beginner sewer. I told her to watch your channel and creative heart creations or whatever is your friend from California that moved recently. I told her that you make everything so stinking easy.she took a snapshot of one of your itinerary so she could go home and watch it. Ness city is probably an hour or hour and half from hays Kansas. I never get tired of hearing your voice either.
I really think this bag can be made in so many ways. This is the best. It could be bigger,or smaller. It could be made with denim, quilted blocks,& one fabric throughout. Love it. Thanks. You're so talented.
I rarely comment on these types of videos but I just had to tell you how great this tutorial is. Precise, easy to understand and a joy to watch this little bag emerge from pieces of fabric. Thank you and I look forward to watching many more of your videos. :)
I’m wowed. I’ve had questions about the inserted zipper installation and you’ve made it so clear. Going thru the entire make has been sooooo helpful! Thanks so much for this wonderful tutorial Tiffany. You ROCK !!!!!
Fanatic tutorial. Great explanation on everything. Love the trick about leaving the inner pocket open so that the bottom of the lining can be sewn shut. I can't wait to try making my own. Your fabric choices were adorable. Love all the pocjets and zippers.
The techniques you taught us can be used on so many different sewing projects! I was blown away by all the information!! Thank you so much. You made me believe that I can do this, that each part is going to help me make some lovely and unique projects. Wow 🤩
OMGOSH I love this bag!! I am not a sewiing expert by any means and I had to redo a lot because I misunderstood a few things, but well worth it. The inside pockets are at the PERFECT HEIGHT, I do not have any purses that are as convienent as this one is. I am deffinately making another one!! Thank you so much for sharing. I wish I could sho you a picture, I have chickens and daisies on it, some of my favorite things!! 💞💗❤
I just made this bag. One thing I did different was, I stitched the D-ring tabs to the purse body back matching the top stitch line….now they don’t flap. It was a bit tricky because I did it after the entire bag was finished. Next on, I will stitch the flaps down before completing the bag. Thank you so much for the tutorial…love the bag🥰
Tiffany, this is the best bag tutorial that I have ever watched. Your instructions are so clear. I will definitely be making a version of this bag. I hope you come out with more bags!
Tiffany, you are the best instructor on RUclips Quilting! This is the 3rd time I’ve watched this video, and as a big inner here I think I’m now ready to make this bag and have some real fun sewing something other than “blocks!”
Thank you so much for this video. What an excellent teacher you are. I have tears in my eyes. I just finished making my first purse. It’s not perfect but pretty good. You are making such a difference in this world sharing your talents. Helping others to believe in themselves. Words do not adequately express the gift you have given to me. Thank you kind wonderful soul. May you be rewarded 100 fold 🙌😘❤️❤️
Thank you for your video. You are a great teacher, you explain so well. My only question is, I have a juke hzl f600. Will it be able to handle sewing through the zippers?
You are an excellent teacher. Not a thing missed. Thank you for all the details. I think I will try a couple of these for some of my six granddaughters. Also, Perhaps a larger one just a tad bit for myself. This was a long detailed video which I absolutely loved. Your choice of fabric is absolutely darling. Wow........amazing! Thank you for sharing this!
I have learnt so much from in this one tutorial than all the videos that I have watched . Your step by step instructions are so timely and helpful. thanks so much. I really appreciate it.
I love that you explained and showed every step of the way , such a cute bag.. I don't mind a long video when it is explained like yours.. Others want to make a short video not showing every step.. Loved the video.. thanks..
I did it! I can hardly believe it but I just finished my very own "The Right Bag!" And it is "just right." Had to stop & start your video over and over to see just how you did some of the steps & was able to follow your awesome instructions! The local hardware & zipper selection was very slim but I didn't want to wait for an online order so I made it work. I just love it! I plan to make another one now that I've become more familiar with it. And I'll order the parts ahead of time. Thanks for your tutorial video & for sharing it! Sincerely, jw
I have never seen a zipper set this way, the whole process is very interesting. Very detailed instructions. Thanks for sharing. The bags are beautiful!
I enjoyed watching this video. You gave clear, excellent instructions. You took it at a slower speed than others, which I liked very much. I hope to have the courage to try to make this bag someday! Thank you for sharing this video!
I love this purse and have made several. Thank you for the pattern. You mentioned you were unsure about the placement of the strap tabs...me too. I moved them to the purse top about 1/2" from the sides. I placed one tab on either side of the top zipper so it is balanced when it hangs over my shoulder. Works GREAT! I really love your style and as a visual learner...this works for me. Oh and I decided not to cut the box corner notches until the entire purse was stitched together...that way, they all match up.
I love this bag! The fabrics you used were so pretty! Your instructions were very clear and easy to follow. I have one suggestion. On the zipper that you add tabs on the ends, don't sew the sides of the tabs. Line up one short end of the tab on the front of the zipper, face side down. Sew across 1/4" from end. Fold over 1/4" on the other short end of the tab and fold it over the end of the zipper and line the edge with the front where you stitched the first edge. Stitch 1/8" from edge. This way you will have a little less bulk on the sides, since they will be sewn in the seam anyway. Hope I explained it ok. The zoom stitching of the strap was fun! Thanks for the tutorial!
A great tutorial, l have made many bags but l learnt a new technique or 2. I loved the idea of leaving the pocket open and being able to finish a neat base on the lining and using . 2 way tape on the zipper. Thankyou for generously sharing.
WOW , I have watched several videos learning to make a bag, and the strap, This is the BEST BEST , Thank you for being clear and complete . I am about to make another bag. JUST LIKE this one.
Mrs Tiffany this tutorial made me forgive how much I disliked making bags 🛍️,just really enjoy feeling FREE to sew Thanks to how you share your TALENT . I feel like I was in the ocean afraid to swim and after watching you ENJOY creating now I'm swimming with Dolphins !!! THANK YOU
This video is awesome and better than most classes I've taken! I've been looking for the perfect bag to make with my Harry Potter fabric, and this is it! Love it, and love your teaching!
Stellar tutorial. Watched it start to finish. Very clear. Thank you for clarifying which side is the glue side. I use (or have tried unsuccessfully to use) the same interfacing. The instructions assume you know which is the glue side (I read them over and over again trying to figure it out). I never could get the interfacing to stick to anything but my iron. I will now try it again.
Hi Tiffany, this is beautiful and I love your instructions. The only part I’m not getting good is making the zipper tab fit when I’m sewing the bag together. I would like to show you by pasting a picture but it won’t let me.
I am so excited to try this project. I’m going on a cruise next month and can’t find a crossbody I like (or can afford!). I love all the pockets in this one. I know just which fabrics I will use out of my stash! Thanks.
OK, I'm hooked. I was looking for instructions for cross body bags. This one is soooo cute!! I can't wait to get started. You didn't mention in the comment section where you found the zipper roll and pulls. I know I can just buy zippers, but yours look so professional. I think these would make fantastic gifts. I can't wait to get started. AND I can't wait to see what other videos you've put together. I wish you were in my town, but I'm so thankful for RUclips that you've been able to share with all of us out here!❤
I get my zippers and pulls mostly from anywhere that is on sale or has deals when you buy more than 3 yards of zipper tape. Last place my hubs found me zippers was on Walmart and he got me the color change zipper tape that is sooo cute 😍

I Love this bag. Thank You for sharing your time, and your talent with all of us. I will definitely be making one of these, or several, in different colors.
This is a beautiful bag and very detailed instructions. Are there any instructions for cutting out all the fabric first? My fat quarters was not enough for this project.
Love this tutorial. I made a pocket like that zipper one in a blazer for my girls in school. They zipped up their phones safely in it. The other girls were jealous and wanted them too. ❤❤❤thank you.
We are working on the bag! I’m very excited about how they are going to come out! You are wonderful! I work in a Healthcare Center so it’s done in steps… it’s been a learning process …can’t wait to finish!
I really appreciate you taking time out to do this video. All of the details made the bag functional and fantastic . I can’t wait to make one, or two. Thanks
Tiffany, hi! on the video, starting at 28:26 you talk about using one of the accent fabrics. Then you say cut an 8 " strip and then on the fold cut 7 1/4 ". Once it is opened, it measures 8" x 14 1/2". Please clarify because you say, 7 x 14 1/2. thank you
Absolutely gorgeous. I really love it. Excellent combination of fabrics. I just suscribed to your channel. Thank you so much for teaching us. My best regards from Lake Worth, FL
made this bag for my travelling. At times I thought the instructions were a bit confusing, especially on the sizes at the beginning, as you give one size, and then end up with a different size. I figured it out though and other than that the instructions were very clear. Thanks for sharing,

Thank you 😊
Tiffany, hi! on the video, starting at 28:26 you talk about using one of the accent fabrics. Then you say cut an 8 " strip and then on the fold cut 7 1/4 ". Once it is opened, it measures 8" x 14 1/2". Please clarify because you say, 7 x 14 1/2. thank you
It's written in the description I think 🤔 I don't quite remember off the top of my head
ok. i'll check. thank you.
Fabulous video - so detailed - how could anyone get lost!!! Thank you ❤
I love everything about it. The colors are beautiful and the size is perfect. Great job.
A true perfection job on this Tiffany, you are awesome!
Lovely job. I love your technique of sewing around the pocket zipper twice. Classy look; I'm going to start doing that!
Thanks for sharing,
Thank you 😊
