Thank you Christine, I came into your shop yesterday with my friends and we spent some time walking around your shop looking at all of your great handmade items, I just wanted to thank you for how generous you are with your time and knowledge, we'll be back. Cheers Jayne.
I'm not a good seamstress at all just a beginner ,I simply love an appreciate the way you explained everything you do, just like using the same thread I'd never think to do that, and sew top stitch on the busy side of the material i ,its not seen ,I'd never think of that ! Goodness your amazing, explaining everything, thank you !!
RMullins, it doesn't matter how good a seamstress you are as long as you enjoy your craft. Skill and knowledge take time. Have fun and don't be too harsh on yourself🤣
Your videos are so genuine, clear and calming. Thanks you. My husband nearly bled to death last week and is still hospitalized and stable. I gave myself permission to pause this morning and watch your video with my morning coffee. So helpful as I face another day at the hospital. Thank you.
This bag I am sure is going to be one of your best sellers,it’s a handy size ,pockets for cards, goes over your shoulder. The colours are lovely and the contrast works really well,it’s lovely looking bag.Thank you for showing us how to make it and making it look easy.Hope they do really well for you,I am sur they will.
Great bag for that walk I should be doing three times a week! Maybe I can get my motivation to get outside more often…..show off my craft skills too! Love that this got card slots … and this looks easy , magnetic button, not zippers, web strap , not fabric strap. Looks like you got rid of my excuses 😂 for making a crossbody bag to wear while I walk or run that quick errand. Well done Christine 👍👍👍 Great tutorial with plenty of tips , love it ❤️.
Still working out how to get the free swatches from where I live. I love the bags will certainly give them a try. Getting the webbing will save a lot of time. Thank you for sharing 🥰🙏🥰
This is a perfect tutorial. Your instructions are so clear and easy to understand. Loved watching you. Im headed to my sewing machine to make one similar ♥️
I can see why they would sell quickly! Very lovely and practical! Would be great for when a person is touring or for when shopping a flea market so one can be hands free! My shoulder aches when carrying my purse walking around flea markets and this would be a great solution!
These would be nice for shopping, travel, going to games, or anywhere that you may want to keep your bag with you (and sometimes out of sight). These are very nice, one of a kind, cross body bags.
Hi. I do enjoy following your tutorials which are simple. I made several of the fabric shopping bags. I would like to see a tutorial on making aprons. Have a good one
Love them. Will have to make one or a few. I have tried to process some swatches, but the paper is really hard to remove on most. In my defence, I did make one doggy dodo bag with swatch 😂. Thank you for all the tutorials. You are an amazing teacher. Have a great day.
These are great. I love the technique for making the card slots. I like to close up on the top on totes because they can be reversible without the seam showing on the bottom.
Love this bag Christine. I have made a few bags like this and I find them great if I'm going into hospital for day surgery just to keep your phone and glasses and small stuff in..My daughter works in WA on a mission and find them better than using her good leather bag..they are so much safer than ordinary bags because they cross over your body. I'm going on holidays in a couple of weeks and hope to be stopping in to see you and your shop.
Such a great idea for using those swatches! My friend (who works at a furniture store) just asked me if I would like some swatches. I think that I will give this a try when she gets those to me. Thanks so much for a great tutorial! 😁
I enjoyed watching you make the bag. Love the upholstery fabric. Maybe I will manage to make myself one. If I had more energy I would make some for a bazaar. Good job love your videos and how well you explain everything. 😊💕 from North Pole Alaska.
Great tutorial! Thank you, I’m making some out of samples too and raising money for a charity. It’s great to have you talking through every fine detail. Off to make some myself today. X❤
Thank you for such great tips and tricks! I found your site while searching for a pattern to make my own backpack, because I can’t afford what I want…so I plan to buy a leather coat from the goodwill and make my own…
Love this I want to make one of these so I'm chuffer=d you've done this one Christine thank you :) Can't wait to see how well they do in your next 1/4ly sales run down
I really love this little bag as well as all of your creative ideas. I would like to make this bag with the magnetic snap on a top flap covering the opening. I wonder if there’s a video for a bag with a top flap, or if you have a suggestion for modifying this bag to include a top flap? Thank you!
I'm actually in the middle of creating a bag video with a top flap Sharon. Might be a week or two before it's ready. When it is, it will be a red bag in the video😀
I think $30 even in the US is reasonable. I know a lot of people say OMG you should sell it for me but I disagree with that. I always ask myself 'what would I pay?". Anyways we make to sell right so I would rather have a lower price and sell my inventory than try to get a lot more and sell less and have to lug everything back home.
Thanks Heidi. I've stopped asking myself what I'd pay as I'm way too stingy and always looking for a bargain. Instead, I ask myself "what am I worth?" I actually prefer a higher price on my products as I can always reduce it if they don't sell. I can also give bulk discounts to some customers. Fortunately I just charge labour as my material is mostly free😁
Excellent tutorial, very clear & easy to follow. I do like the style but the magnet clasp does not make me feel secure enough to put credit cards in those pockets. By that's ok, they would come in handy for biz cards, lipstick & tissues. TY for sharing. I'm a newer subscriber here & love your videos.
You can cut the lining longer and just fold it over as the reinforcement to the magnetic clasp to save sewing time later. It adds up to a lot of time savings in batch sewing.
Another great video. Thank you. Your overhead camera must be a fair way from your sewing board because your items always look so much bigger when you're sewing them 😀
I enjoyed the tutorial on the cross body bags. Just wanted to ask if the magnetic clasp will strip the info from your cards. I had my cards inside a wallet inside of my purse and my cards stopped working. I was told they were too close to the magnet putting them in and out of my purse.
I took your advice and got several fabric books from a local interior designer. I will be charging for the fabric, if I ever get anything finished, because it took a long time to get the stiff paper backing off the fabric pieces. If you can recommend an easy way to do it, I would love to hear about it. Thank you for your videos.
Great score Marianne. I don't charge for the fabric, but I do factor the labour costs involved in removing the paper into the selling price of my products.😁
I really like your cross body bags quick and simple to make. Do you have a pattern for the cross body bag that sit more on your chest so it will fit under your coat or jacket, almost like a mans inside jacket pocket.. Almost like a fanny pack but horizontal, it will hold your passport, credit cards and some cash. This type of bag would work very well at the airport, it is always hard to have your boarding pass, passport in your hands along with your carry-on luggage. It would keep your valuables out of sight. There are so many pick-pockets out there now. What are your thoughts.

Wonderful videos! My 11 year old son loves to sew, and has done quite well considering his age. He now wants to start a RUclips page. Any suggestions or advice for him?
I'd say go for it! Tell him to be himself and not try to copy personality of others. People will love him for his own style. Also he'll need to learn how to edit his videos. I might have 3hrs of video that I have to chop down to 20min, so there can be a lot of work to do there. There's lots of free video editing software out there with tutorials. He'll need a fast computer with lots of space too. But you can build on this.😁
Lorraine, you can just use a 2/3 inch strip. Alternatively, cut a small square of fabric and place it between lining and washer as you put the snap in🙂
Are your viewers buying your bags to give their opinions on where you should put your label? Put your labels whereever you want, they’re your bags, not your viewers bag.
Christine! I truly appreciate all the little details that you point out as you sew your projects. thanks so much🥰
You are so welcome Janelle😀
I love crossbody bags, and yours is simple, quick, and unique! Thank you for once again an enjoyable tutorial! Have an enjoyable day my friend 🌺😜👍☘️🌷
Thank you Tina. You too!😃

Thanks Jayne. It was lovely meeting you. Hope you get to make lots of great items with all that fabric. I see you worked out how to comment😁
I'm not a good seamstress at all just a beginner ,I simply love an appreciate the way you explained everything you do, just like using the same thread I'd never think to do that, and sew top stitch on the busy side of the material i

You are so kind and generous to share your hard won knowledge with everyone. Thank you so much. 😊
It's always a pleasure Pamela. Thank you😀

Great tutorial with plenty of tips , love it ❤️.
I need to do one of these for my walks too Berniece, but I really need someone to give me a push to walk😁
Still working out how to get the free swatches from where I live. I love the bags will certainly give them a try. Getting the webbing will save a lot of time. Thank you for sharing 🥰🙏🥰
Usung the webbing has made all the difference for me Teresa😁
This is a perfect tutorial. Your instructions are so clear and easy to understand. Loved watching you. Im headed to my sewing machine to make one similar ♥️
Thank you so much Mary😁
Definitely like the shorter, squatter bags. Really like the swatch fabrics. You make it look easy. Enjoying your videos.
I agree Lisa. They're more balanced that way too😀
Your instructions are so clear - very easy to follow. Thanks!!!🎉
Thank you Naomi🙂
All of your bags are fabulous and I’ve learned so much in time and cost saving for my little bag making business. Feeling totally inspired ❤
That's awesome Julie. Thank you😀
I can see why they would sell quickly! Very lovely and practical! Would be great for when a person is touring or for when shopping a flea market so one can be hands free! My shoulder aches when carrying my purse walking around flea markets and this would be a great solution!
Thanks Laura. I think I'll even make one for myself😀
Christine I love that the card slots can be used in other bags too. Another great idea, blessings.

Thank you ST😁
Love them. Will have to make one or a few. I have tried to process some swatches, but the paper is really hard to remove on most. In my defence, I did make one doggy dodo bag with swatch 😂. Thank you for all the tutorials. You are an amazing teacher. Have a great day.
Doo not dodo 😂
Thanks Lucrezia. I have trouble with the papers as well, but tend to leave them on at the edges now. I'm still testing a few options though😀
Another great project for me to jump into. Thanks
Hope you enjoy it Cynthia. Thank you😃
These are great. I love the technique for making the card slots. I like to close up on the top on totes because they can be reversible without the seam showing on the bottom.
That's a good option Betty. Might have to do some reversible bags too😀
Hi thanks for showing us how it's done. Really lovely. Keep up the good work. 🤗🤗🤗
Thank you Janice😃

Welcome Georgia. I might do a version with a zipper in it too🙂
Love your videos!! Wondering how you would go about making a double one of these? I mean 2 of these connected together with a zipper.
Cindy, do you mean two identical bags, but a zip in between the two? Which would have three openings all up?
You can cut the lining longer and just fold it over as the reinforcement to the magnetic clasp to save sewing time later. It adds up to a lot of time savings in batch sewing.
Thank you. That's a great tip😀
Another great video. Thank you. Your overhead camera must be a fair way from your sewing board because your items always look so much bigger when you're sewing them 😀
I'm still working on the positioning of the camera. I'm thinking it needs to come closer to the table😃
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs it's fine by me. It was just a bit of a shock the first time
I enjoyed the tutorial on the cross body bags. Just wanted to ask if the magnetic clasp will strip the info from your cards. I had my cards inside a wallet inside of my purse and my cards stopped working. I was told they were too close to the magnet putting them in and out of my purse.
That's a good question Sandra. I'm not sure what the effect would be, but I think if you don't scratch the card along the magnet, it should be fine😀
Where do you find those pretty fabrics. The out side pieces. I'm in USA
I just did a video on this very topic a few days ago that might help. 🙂
ruclips.net/video/bm-t7CTS39U/видео.html
Love it. So how long would it take you toake one?
They take about 25min Pama😁
I took your advice and got several fabric books from a local interior designer. I will be charging for the fabric, if I ever get anything finished, because it took a long time to get the stiff paper backing off the fabric pieces. Awesome
Thanks Evelyn 😄
Thank you for this tutorial. Last night I was working on a project that calls for magnetic snaps, and the instructions were not clear.
You're very welcome Loraine🙂
I really like your cross body bags quick and simple to make. Do you have a pattern for the cross body bag that sit more on your chest so it will fit under your coat or jacket, almost like a mans inside jacket pocket.. Almost like a fanny pack but horizontal, it will hold your passport, credit cards and some cash. This type of bag would work very well at the airport, it is always hard to have your boarding pass, passport in your hands along with your carry-on luggage. It would keep your valuables out of sight. There are so many pick-pockets out there now. What are your thoughts.
I don't have a video for that style yet Barb, but it's on the list😁
Thanks!
I absolutely love your content. You have a lovely speaking voice. I could sit and watch you for hours. Also, love the details you provide when sewing. Directions and explanation of the work you do and why, are extremely helpful. Keep up the good work. I'm definitely inspired!❤️❤️
WOW! Deanna. Thank you so much 😊
That's so lovely Deanna. I have to admit, I cringe whenever I have listen to my voice😁
But you can build on this.😁
Hi Christine. Question, how wide are your seams fir your cross body bags, 1/4 inch or 1/2 inch?
Hi Gigi. Me seams are 1/4" 😁
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs thank you. I guess that gets you the most area for your bags. Makes sense. Thank you.
What was the measurement for the facing(reinforcement) on the lining? Thank you!
Lorraine, you can just use a 2/3 inch strip. Alternatively, cut a small square of fabric and place it between lining and washer as you put the snap in🙂
Thank you so much Christine!
Do you also have a video for a zippered cross body bag?
I sure do Sheila. This one is a batch sewing video, and I'll do another one soon ruclips.net/video/GiT2bfShv_w/видео.html 😀
I make a similar bag with a zipper closure for security.
I do them with zips too Tina, but don't bother with pockets inside them🙂
Where do you get your labels?
Candy, there's a link in the description of all my videos for the labels I use😁
Wouldn't the magnets affect your credit cards?
You could swap them with velcro or buttons Angie😀
Where do you get your free Swatch samples from?
Here's a video I did a few days ago Samantha that will give you some tips😁
ruclips.net/video/bm-t7CTS39U/видео.html
I love your bags. I sew tote, toiletry and makeup bags for charity. Through Peggy Purl Manawatu.
That sounds fabulous Robyn😁
How do u get the swatches for free?
Beverly, I have a playlist on the channel for sourcing free fabric that noght help😀
Another great product line
Thanks Lesley😁
🥰🦋🌈🦋🥰
Talking to much
haha, you're lucky I don't sing😁
Are your viewers buying your bags to give their opinions on where you should put your label? Put your labels whereever you want, they’re your bags, not your viewers bag.
Thanks RG. I do value everyone's opinions though, and I know I can't possibly get everything right🤣
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs It’s right, because you’re the person making them.
Pearls to the swine, eh, Christine??
haha, I had to Google this phrase. Love it!😀
