Here in 2021, we have an ABUNDANCE of motorcycle options to choose from. In this video, I try to make an argument for why I feel like the 2021 Yamaha MT07 might just be the best motorcycle for road riding available on the market today.

Fun > Thrill. Powerful bikes are a thrill the first few times you open them up but once you're acclimated to the power it kinda feels limited because you can only really use it in very limited settings and even then you know your license is at risk. A bike like the mt07 though you can enjoy in all sorts of settings. It's just fun.

      That's a great point.
BUT, you can get a Monster that is much higher power, and weigh and handles pretty much the same. And it's a better bike to travel longer journey (I'm planning to travel across EU and the Alps, so I'm really not sure between these 2 now).

Depending on who you ask, some consider my 890R a middleweight. It weighs the same as these 650-700’s, but has tons more torque, with a decent bit more hp. I think the mt07 is a great beginner bike for a mature rider.

Cable throttle is where it's at, my dude! No computerised throttle control has the same responce as a direct mechanical connection, and that is worth more than all the riding modes in the world.
I notice it on cars too, my old Toyota isn't very fast and coming off something newer it takes a bit of getting used to, but I've never driven a modern car that feels more direct in its power application. It's smooth and immediate, an absolute pleasure to drive.

Good review, thanks. Waiting for the dealer to get one so I can test it. Global supply problems!! However I have ridden the GSX S750 and was super impressed. Despite the weight it was very smooth and easy to throw around about town with plenty of go. However keep the taps open and it climbs to 112 Hp and 80 Nm or torque, screaming like an F1. But nice and smooth and appropriate for the city of you upshift. Way better brakes and suspension is rebound adjustable both ends and I think is better sorted. The GSX is reportedly more stable pushing through corners. Finally I like the idea of traction control for wet roads and poor surfaces. Looks, well neither is really outstanding. At only USD700 more where I live I suspect the GST S750 is a better bike for money. Probably all the handling and power you really need, so maybe gets the title ;-0

30+ years not riding, bought a 2017 MT07 brand new in 2018 (BTW I was 57 at the time) and haven't looked back 21k in 3 years and she still looks new. 2 track days (go to my 3rd in a week), thousands of wheelies, group rides, 1 crash and bad drivers, my girl Kandi has survived and just keeps providing fun and adventure at every turn. Super easy to ride, pretty easy on the body even on longer rides (get a windscreen) and plenty of power to do anything EXCEPT go over 130mph 🤣🤣

OC: I’ve loved these bikes since they were first introduced. The thing hat steered me away was hearing from several people that they were a little “wound up” for highway use and that the 09 was a better option. My commute is 45 min to 2.5 hrs depending on work location. Ended up buying a Z900 when the shopping was all said and done. There is still room in the garage to add an 07 later though!

After riding 600cc sports bikes and dual sports, this is my favorite bike. I have a 2018 and love it. I would trade it for an r7 though. The wind protection, brakes, suspension, slipper clutch, and looks would solve all my minors gripes. It’s probably not worth the money though, and I still love this thing.
