Eventually Sidious proved to be prepared for everything using the sith ritual know as transfer essense to cheat death, overcoming that weakness.
There is an awesome exchange between Vader and Palpatine at the end of this arc where Palpatine basically intimates to Vader that there is very little happening in the galaxy that he doesn't already know about. This plot certainly fell into that category. Thank you for watching Matt!

It would take a massive army to take on palpatine--did you see him just toy with maul/savage and kill 3 jedi masters in 5 seconds? And thats after decades without practice.

Their plan wasn't even that great because even if they killed and took over anyone loyal to the emperor would come to kill them and fight the empire. They know who Vader is which means they know what they'll have to face afterwards. Their plan was even worse when you realize they already killed all their allies in the empire. They killed half their support in the empire trying to take it over.
I believe the Emperor knew full well that this plot was happening. He just let it happen. All to make an example of those who survived. After all. It is kind of strange how they just turned on each other before they killed the Emperor. I mean I knew they would kill one another but to start doing that BEFORE they went through the plan? Yeah. The Emerpor knew full well and was twisting them indirectly through the Force. It is a very Sith thing to do.

It'll also keep him from murdering me one week before the fight." This chain of thought, when we incorporate cold strategy, political allies and a will to kill to get one's way (pretty much every armed incident and coup would count) is likely to happen- both in fiction and real life.

If it was widely known that he was a super powerful Sith lord, people plotting to assassinate him would not march into his throne room to confront him, instead they would barrage his palace from orbit with heavy turbolasers, dialed up to thermonuclear yields. But by concealing his power, and presenting the image of a frail and broken old man, he draws his enemies in, and then destroys them with the full power of the Dark Side.

I love these comics. Trachta is a great character, loved him in Ghost Prison too, loved that story overall. I really feel that in these smaller unconnected arcs, EU comics were at their best. Another one I liked that comes to mind is the one with Tarkin's son.
the music really goes well with this one. Its calm but allows your voice to be heard and moves up to the climax of the storie. Very good. For me this type of music goes good with someone telling the storie of a comic while the observer sees the comic panels. It some how deepens the storie. Carry on.
