@Trey Stephens Quote of Darth Sidious when killing Plagueis in the 'Darth Plagueis' novel: *"No true Sith can ever really **_care_** about one another. This has always been known."*
I know that it may sound a little odd, but in many ways I think that the assassination of Vidar Kim was the final piece that fully formed Palpatine into Sidious. I mean I know that Sidious was always his true self, but Vidar was a real connection for a young Palpatine. His momentary hesitation for his assassination proves this & makes the active severing of that connection all the more significant, as the last true element of Palpatine has been destroyed, leaving only a mask to be used by Sidious.
