@@dc-wp8ocdo you understand the differences between hyper-dispensationalism and dispensationalism???
Because people who are dispensational without the "hyper" believe is was also always by grace in the past and future just that God had different ways he went about spreading the good news... For example while everyone past present and future have to believe in God and his death, burial, and resurrection, when Jesus sent his disciples out two by two to spread the Gospel were they preaching his death burial and resurrection??? Something to think about

@@dc-wp8oc dispensationalism is just referring to dispensations of time and recognizing that things were done differently at different periods of time, that's why "isms" can be tricky, best not to put anyone in a box before asking some questions... Like the example I gave about the disciples preaching the Gospel during Jesus's ministry, we can be sure they weren't preaching the death burial and resurrection of Jesus for the forgiven of sins, we know that because they had no clue about his impending death on the cross even a few days prior, so being a dispensationalist i just see the distinction...
And as far as Mark 6, it tells you he marvelled at their unbelief in verse 6, so the repentance is of unbelief...

And the reason they say that is because they don't believe in the free will, as if we would lose our free will in the moment we got saved (which is nonsense of course).

(Luke 18:11) The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men [are], extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
(Luke 18:12) I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
(Luke 18:13) And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as [his] eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
(Luke 18:14) I tell you, this man went down to his house justified [rather] than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

I absolutely LOVE your simple teaching of faith in Christ alone. I encourage you to look up "John Harper Titanic Hero" sometime and perhaps make a video of your own about this faithful man of God. That is one of the best examples of being saved by faith in Christ alone that I have ever heard of! Many of those people who he swam to in those freezing Atlantic waters that April night in 1912 and told of the simple way to Salvation had never given Jesus a second thought throughout their lives, yet were sealed for eternity after believing on Christ after Pastor Harper preached Christ to them.
I've determined that the best way to approach death when it comes is to approach it like someone in the Atlantic waters next to John Harper. Just believe on Jesus Christ and you shall be Saved. That simple.

Amen Ono. We are saved by believing in Jesus Christ through faith alone, in Christ alone, GTF. The preaching using one verse as gospel truth does never hold value when one fails to rightly divide the whole word of God.
The Bible says, “What must I do to be saved?” Believe on the Lord Jesus and you shall be saved. It does NOT say believe plus works.
    Very well explained Ono.

  • @professordr4059
    @professordr4059 Год назад +5

@OnoDiamante The KJV Bible clearly agrees with Ono's important conclusions here, “And if by GRACE, then is it NO MORE OF WORKS: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.” -Romans 11:6
“For if Abraham were justified by WORKS, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. For what saith the scripture? Abraham BELIEVED God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that WORKETH is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that WORKETH NOT, but BELIEVETH on him that justifieth the ungodly, his FAITH is counted for righteousness. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness WITHOUT WORKS.” -Romans 4:2-6
“Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work THE WORKS OF GOD?
Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye BELIEVE ON HIM whom he hath sent.
    ’” -John 6:28-29
Jesus said: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that BELIEVETH on me hath everlasting life.” - John 6:47 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and BELIEVETH on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” -John 5:24
“For by GRACE are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the GIFT of God: NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast.” -Ephesians 2:8-9
“Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by FAITH WITHOUT THE DEEDS OF THE LAW.” -Romans 3:28
THEREFORE THE BIBLE TEACHES: Adding your own payment of GOOD WORKS to Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for us is rejecting God’s offer of the FREE GIFT of forgiveness and eternal life. What you pay for is not really a gift. We must place our FAITH in Jesus Christ and His payment of our sin’s penalty, without in any way trusting our own good WORKS to help pay our own penalty. We must trust ONLY in Jesus Christ’s perfect sacrifice for us. Jesus Christ clearly taught that eternal life is only available to those who BELIEVE IN HIM WITHOUT ADDING THEIR OWN GOOD DEEDS.

However, true faith alone should also mirror good "works" in our life... Someone "works" that is not aligned with God's morality, is not true Faith. If we really believed a bomb was under the table our actions should reflect our belief and we would get away from the table. So, I think that when our outer actions don't reflect moral behavior we ought to reanalyze our faith.

The main problem is see with these works salvationists is that they simply do not understand and therefore ignore the reality of the spiritual new birth by faith. They can't understand it. And therefore they see salvation only as Christ paying for our sins and that's all. The resurrection, the new man they don't understand because they don't believe. That's why they have to replace it with the works salvation doctrine to make sense of it. If there was no rebirth and we were dead in our sins just like before, then of course the law would still be necessary. They think the new birth is foolishness and probably consider it in a mere figurative sense. Or they think the new birth is what we do, that we somehow birth ourselves by works. It's hard to make sense of this fleshly thinking.

Pretty much across the board any preacher that has any level of popularity is preaching work salvation

Most denominations or sects are works based on some capacity.
Pentecostals (Assemblies of God, Church of God, etc.). believe that you can lose your salvation and therefore place going to Heaven on their own abilities to not sin.
Mainline denominations like Lutherans and United Methodists also teach that one can lose their salvation. Lutherans teach you have to be water baptized and take the Eucharist to be saved. This is of works.
Many Calvinists backload the gospel with works, claiming that if one is living in sin, they were never saved. This is what is called as "Lordship Salvation". They are putting emphasis on their works and turning from sins.
Presbyterians believe in infant baptism to save until one is old enough to believe, or in a grace element, as far as I remember reading, within the ordinance of the Lord's Supper.
The "Church of Christ" believes you have to be baptized to be saved, and many believe you have to be baptized by someone within their group in order to be saved.
Roman Catholics believe in works for salvation, participate in idolatry, and place mere men in positions of dignitary as if they are likened to God.
When you get down to it, most churches in the world belong to the above groups. If their congregants are adhering to these beliefs when they seek God, then they are also trusting in themselves and are not saved.
Even many Baptists have become Calvinistic. As it stands, Baptists still have a significant number of congregations that preach free grace, but Calvinism has crept into many of them. That said, Baptists are probably the largest block of so called Christians that are actually saved.

I get a headache when worldly people try to understand spiritual things in a wordly way. What a mess... As Paul says: "Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." (1Co 2:12-14 KJV) Without the Holy Spirit, you cannot understand spiritual doctrine.

There are no witnesses to such events and even if there were, it would more likely be a conspiracy of likeminded people at that point, rather than a testimony of what has actually happened. There is no scripture that says this sort of phenomenon is legitimate. There isn't even one verse in the bible that says God actually takes living people into Hell and then brings them back to testify about Hell. If scripture does not back it up, why would you believe it?

I do not wanna falsely represent Metaxas but to my knowledge of him he is a catholic sympathizer. I do not think he has ever publicly said Roman catholic church or greek orthodox are false gospel-having churches that lead people to hellfire.
Anderson is a wise man and he is spot on with many things but with his philosophy comes man-centeredness. Everything must be defined by God's Word for doctrine and it(Bible)is our highest authority, not man or what man THINKS faith is. All of this twisting of James 2 again. I can just imagine them continnuing to Matthew 7, Matthew 25, Rev. 21 etc. Yes, we should oppose all ungodliness but it is better to live in sin but believe in Christ Jesus and therefore be saved, righteous, have eternal life without works, than to think you do not live in sin or do not sin and have a false gospel of faith and works. Jesus does NOT share His glory with us. He ALONE did the work for our salvation, His ALONE is the glory for sanctifying us in how we should walk also this christian life.
I just cannot understand how hard it is to get it that there can be christians who actually live in sin for a LONG TIME! I have had 2 addictions, both of which have been horrible. I guess some folks think they are so perfect, do not sin "as much". People should really reread 1 Corinthians over and over and over again. Are we justufied to sin? No! As much as a son should respect his father, but this ABUSE of saying you are not a true christian if you do not always do as you should LACKS grace because we all still sin! Until we reach glory and get rid of this fleshly body we are gonna sin. Then, even then, Jesus will be our glorification. So glory to God, not us!

Generally where the term comes when someone is a disciple, they had the entire Old Testament memorized.... No one would take discipleship lightly and think it is just something that everyone just does. Salvation however is by Grace through Faith in what Christ did.... If salvation was by discipleship, very few would be saved.... It would be easier to get a doctorate in engineering than to be a disciple.... So, we just obey Deut 6:4-9 (Not to be saved..)

    1 Corinthians 1 18-31 kjv
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
    23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
    27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

This Eric Metaxas is a good example of the church today; in that for the most part the church is apostate, hence the narrow path that leads to salvation where few be there that find it!
This man has access to the same Word of God that all of us have in the US, so there is no excuse for him in that he openly admits that he does not believe the Gospel by which we are saved.
He’s read Ephesians 2:9 and Romans 11:6 just like the rest of us.
    Hebrews 4:2,
For unto us was the Gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
We are saved only by placing our faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ for the following of our sins.
This is the Gospel we read in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.

James 1:18 says, "Of his own will begat he is with the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures."
"Wherefore, beloved . . . work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure." (Philippians 2:12-13)
For, " . . the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant man seeking goodly pearls, who when he found one pearl of great price, SOLD ALL That HE HAD and bought it." (Matthew 13:45-46)
Jesus paid it all. He's the "merchant " in that parable. He tells us beforehand what he will do.
So the work of Christ is a finished work. Nothing more is needed, nothing less will do.
To teach that a blood bought, born of God Christian can be lost again is like boiling a kid in his mother's milk. It's an absolute denial of the Finished Work of Christ, and by extension, the simple truth of who he really is. "Have you been with me so long, Philip, that you do not know me? He that hath seen me hath seen the Father." (John 14)
So fear not those who crush your soul. Fear him, rather, who came " . . not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many." (Matthew 20:28)
