I don't know if yale will help with gambling and misdirection and experiance of a game though yale can be helpful in many situations; poker may not be one of them. Many poker players/gamblers never even went to college or even finished high school (though there is still many who did or do now).
Florence Kellogg she was talking about Maths and a Yale graduate should be doing just fine with it, he got to Yale for a reason. That’s that, OP didn’t say anything else about the people skill or gamble skills.
@@killjoyer Maths doesn't always save you in expecially in gambling. A psychology degree in yale might...but maths... (or math in my American country that I live)...not really. It's a psychological game just as much or possibly even more than that of numbers. A mathematician can't always win a game when there's bluffs, misdirection, or anything of the such. The game is only slightly math related and mostly playing a fronted game of psychology. Confident liars with unconventional smarts can go pretty far even against people who are smart in the educational area (though not always).
Y'all are acting like she's bad when she's literally ranked second. Also, she was here to teach, as well, and a way to teach is to show how to win AND lose.
It was the blind progression that did it. She wasn't allowed to be very strategic in her decisions because the blinds were raised so quickly. That made the game more luck based. If the progression was slower or the total chips on the board were greater, she would have more freedom to whittle them down. Conventionally, each player should be starting with about 100x the amount of the initial big blind (since it was 50, they would have started with 5000 if they were doing it standard). And the game should go at least 10 minutes between the blinds being raised.

People are getting so antsy over this lol. Chill y’all. This person was simply making a joke. I’ve noticed this before too, usually in these type of videos Ned speaks about how he has the most experience. It makes sense why because these type of activities are ones that suit Ned’s lifestyle and personality and are also things he would’ve done in earlier life. I don’t think that’s unfair, he has more experience and that’s just the way it is. They shouldn’t not do a video just for that reason. But that doesn’t negate that it’s true or funny to point out.
IcySync I literally have nothing to be triggered about? That’s just me stating my own opinion. The original comment was obviously a joke and that’s it. No need to have a huge argument over something so harmless
It was fascinating to see Ned trying to read Maria. And the editing is almost equally amazing, especially 3:33-4:16. I also appreciated the probabillity percentages, they helped a lot!
I know it’s a joke like Kim kardashian wore mirrored sunglasses, but lots of pros do, because of the way cards are picked up in NL hold em, you’d never be able to see the cards, however some pros want you to try, and fail.
It is respectable. But, again, the odds are astronomically in their favor. Had the chess master not been blind-folded, he would've won, easy. Plus, there's only so much you can control when it comes to poker. You have probability, not guarantees. It's FOUR against one. The fact that the pros lasted so long is the real testament to their skill than winning or losing.
I’m glad Maria was in this. She seems like a wonderful choice because when you’re that amazing it seems easy to let your ego get in the way after this and such, but she was calm and collected the whole time. She also made the game interesting as a viewer when she taught the boys as well. Amazing video 👏💜👏🃏
I appreciate that instead of trying to crush them at this game, she opted to continuously educate them and even be honest with her hands in order to better educate them
It works like this he's good at gambling, but sees no point because of how he was raised. He didn't want to win and deliberately threw the game. Interestingly, depending on probability he might've kept winning if the odds were in his favor.
in poker bluffing is used a lot its dangerous but works if on the table there is A,K,O and you have 9,3 and you think the other player has like lets say Q,9 you can raise it until river and go all in that a way of bluffing where you make the person think u have better cards than u have.

I love how in the beginning it says "4 idiots" as if they don't have a Yale graduate on their side
Yo who went to yale
Mustache You A Question Ned
Y'all are acting like she's bad when she's literally ranked second. Also, she was here to teach, as well, and a way to teach is to show how to win AND lose.
Y'all are haters, yall ruining the vibe.
And the game should go at least 10 minutes between the blinds being raised.
um exactly. ranked second.

Why are people so upset over this comment lmao

Respect for Ned for drawing a chess master and winning against a professional poker player?
OuiOuiBaguette his Yale is showing lol
Of course, with the additional help of four of his best friends against a single person xD

She also made the game interesting as a viewer when she taught the boys as well. Amazing video 👏💜👏🃏
I appreciate that instead of trying to crush them at this game, she opted to continuously educate them and even be honest with her hands in order to better educate them
Educating while playing is not distracting at all. You show your good cards to make your bluffs more effective in the future.

Also also Eugene: “Always bet on gay.”
It works like this he's good at gambling, but sees no point because of how he was raised. He didn't want to win and deliberately threw the game. Interestingly, depending on probability he might've kept winning if the odds were in his favor.

yeah "bluffing", betting 50 on the turn and 100 on the river
