when kurt compliments their moves while being totally unable to see, that is the most impressive. when he moves, it almost feels like he could be guessing (I know he isn't but it feels like he could be less oriented) but when he acknowledges their moves as good, it really shows he not only knows all the pieces on all four boards, not only have plans for his pieces for all four boards, but ALSO is keeping track of all of their potential moves, which ones are good, and how he may counter them

I guess that it depends from person to person how much the noice effects you. Personally I have done this against 2 people in at school during a break while talking to others. The most impressive part is the amount of boards. I don't think I can handle a 3th. And that's comming from someone who calculated 12^12 with mental math.

chess isn't 100% a memory game but it's a lot a memory game. That's why computers are so good at it because there's a finite number of moves in any board state and from there a finite number of moves etc. So despite the fact there's a massive number of theoretical board states it decreases in complexity as the game proceeds rather than increases so any board state can be analysed and predicted.
Oof why is Kurt speaking softly blindfolded and being so smart doing it for me?
Ned played incredibly well - I put the endgame in Stockfish and at no point was he losing (it hovered around equal to +1.0). It was +0.3 when he offered a draw.

This is the first video with Ned that I have watched since the news dropped - and I wasn't sure how I would feel, but to be honest - I still enjoyed it, but maybe it's because Ned was actually focused for real in this video instead of trying to be funny.
I really am trying to avoid the Ned comments. I just wanna watch videos in peace and maybe with a little pain. But I agree, I was gonna comment on how you can see the change in his expression: While playing chess he's extremely focused, and not even what's happening next to him can phase him. Grandmaster is a whole different ballgame compared to master, and Nakamura is one of the best grandmasters in the world. But yeah it would be nice to see him enter the chess scene and taking on guys like Nakamura, Eric Rosen, etc, etc.

@@querpou7488 When there's something within your body vicinity you will feel its presence if you are restricted from seeing. You won't know what exactly it is, but you'll know something is there. And there are also factors like the fact that there was a moment of awkward silence when Ned stuck his hand out to the guy, so... Considering he just beat 3 people and tied a fourth one he probably just figured it out.
@@querpou7488 And *also* during Chess when there is a draw coming both players need to agree on it and then shake their hands. So it's just instinctual.
