- With plans to take this EF Falcon racing, we needed it to look a little nicer under the bonnet. We had some rust to look after to give my first car a new life with a new engine bay and new engine to suit!

dude i love this!!. i still have my second car which is an 96 EF GLI. had it supercharged pushing 320rwhp through a T5 about 7 years ago. ive been gathering parts for years now and i'll be starting the project again this year tho this time i have a turbo and a T56 so ill be watching your content to try steal some motivation lol. keep up the good work mate. Btw im in Brissy so hit me up if you need any parts.

@@GapSauceRUclips I was running a capa powerdyne @9psi with a custom pulley I made. Turns out it was too small and was spinning the charger faster than it was designed for so it kept shredding the internal Kevlar belt. One time it reached 13psi at an unknown rpm, bent the tabs pushed the impeller housing off lol. So a turbo will be more reliable I think 👍
@@holdehj Wow, yeah that sounds frustrating. I'm building this one for a charger, I'd like to see 500whp, but we will see how it pans out 🙂
@@GapSauceRUclips aawww can't wait!! The thing I like about superchargers is that the exhaust doesn't get muffled from a turbine so you still get the nice lumpy cam noises. The wade 977 b sounds nice but I'm not sure they make them anymore. Keen to see what set up you go for 😀👍
@@holdehj I had the old 977b once upon a time, much more cam this time around though 🙂 Cheers, lots to come.
One tip I’ve learned I use aluminium foil to wrap wires and stuff like that in the bay

That is awesome Blake. I remember doing that in the 80s with my ZC Fairlane. It was so bad lol. Came up well. White with a big blue 351 Cleveland in there.

Glad the E series is alive mate , I've lost count on how many I used an abused over the years lol E series 97 Tickford Fairmont all white on white was mine before someone wrote it off back in 2003 I was 19 cost me $10,000 lol

@@GapSauceRUclips yeah , Tickford Fairmont still hurts lol bought it of my old mans mate cheap with 90k on the clock had it one month and 2 days before Christmas car slammed into the side of it still remember how clean that paint job was ,all the trim was on point aye

Looks good Blake. For a quick clean up, came up great. Only advice I give for next time to save time masking and unmasking, it is easier to use aluminum foil around the wiring and other fidley bits

Need more eseries content
Nice job. If your going to tackle more rust in the future you are going to have to buy a MIG. Don trix has a good channel for some tips. He is doing a x series restoration. Trick is setting up the welder, clean material and practice on a similar material before you weld the car. You seem quite handy to me I think you can handle it.
Thanks mate, I do have a mig but amateur skills haha. Enough to get by with exhaust mods and the like. It's not pretty (gasless) but it gets me by. I'll check out his channel, thanks 🙂 I would really like a TIG for alloy, intakes and custom stuff.
