My dad owned that Ute for years. Believe it got recently sold again from the buyer that got it. So much work done it. Still has those plates on it too. Good to see it get around. Miss driving it too
I had a very low and fast AUnUte. Kings Sorings used it as a development car to design a super low rear rear spring pack. The used thinner leaf’s in the pack with one extra leaf. This gave an excellent ride while retaining the factory load rating. The big problem with towing a lowered AU is the fuel tank. Ask me how I know. Towing a loaded car trailer, the tail shaft rubbed against the plastic fuel tank and wore a hole in it. Lucky the whole lot didn’t go up in flames as I threw my smokes out the window. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 After that ballsup, I removed the tow bar so I would never be tempted to tow again.
Oi brother this channel is gonna take off before you know it 👌🏽 Love your personality and the editing is spot on. I also own a series 3 AU . Good luck for the future man 👌🏽👌🏽
I remember seeing a black p250 for 11k around 10 years ago 🙉 i also bought a t2 te50 for 8500 and another for 3000 😤 both long gone now. The 8500 t2 te50 i had had the alloy svo y303 heads as standard from tickford.
Yep... that 302 Windsor sounds awesome- with a few add ons... My daily driver is an Au ii 5.0l 302w ute... sadly an auto- but has a stage 2 shift kit, the ute also has ford racing extractors & twin 2.5 sports exhaust, e303 cam, ported gt40p heads with hydraulic lifters, a little intake work, lsd & a few other things... I give credit to the previous owner who did all of the upgrades & set up an awesome 1 tonne work ute that sounds like a beast & has really good usable power- it will absolutely light up the lsd & squiggle down the road from a dead idle... the bloke did a great job... Big smiles all round with that glorious 302 Windsor bellowing & howling as it gets up in the rev range... Love it!!...
For everyone who hasnt subscribed yet: 5:02 - haha seriously though, awesome work, subscribed! Great review and also love a good yarn about falcons. Would love this donk in my XG.
Have owned 2 AU XR8 sedans & 2 xr8 utes manuals & auto,s nothing better than a Windsor reving past 6000rpm made the mistake of selling them & buying a BF xr8 with the boss 260 what a heavy heap of junk those engines were spent more time back at the dealership with cam chain problems & fuel issue's than driving it .
Give it time they will be i regularly keep a eye whats up for sale some owners are asking big dollars but not selling some have been advertising for 12 months or more.
Definitely an iconic Ute along with the TS50.. These and Barra powered falcons And the old Holden 5.0L,355 strokers are the only proper built aussie cars made.. the v8’s after that like the boss and ls are just drop in American power plants..
had a bog standard 03 ba 6 cyl XL ute. It had 58 000km on it when I got it in 2017 or so. Nothing ever went wrong with it mechanically, but the interior trim fell to bits. Those AUs didnt sell because they didnt win anything in the v8supercar series back in the day. I understand the AU was the worst selling model Ford ever made in Australia. Look it up. In my opinion my ba was over-engineered and poorly put together but it was reliable (ever tried to change high beam, low beam or indicator lights? There is absolutely no room to work). I always liked Ford utes and once owned a 302 XT ute which had seen much better days. I wish I still had that one! I sold the BA in 2024 and picked up an original owner VY SS ute and had the same issues. The interior is falling apart and it has only done 120 000km and I have thrown some big $ at it in the 5 months since I have had it just doing stuff that should have been done properly by the last so-called mechanic that worked on it for the original owner. In my opinion build quality over all makes and models with Ford and Holden has declined in direct proportion to enhancements in performance and in-car technology over the last 20 years as profits and overseas manufacturing for cheap labour became more important than build quality. No wonder the car building industry died in Australia. The Government of the day didn't help much either, apparently when Holden folded, every new Holden on the lot had $2000 worth of taxpayers money invested in it and GM still pulled out of Australia. Disappointing. To be fair, my XL didnt have independent rear suspension which made it horrible to drive in the wet, but, it did give me excellent fuel economy and handled very well on dry roads and gave a very comfortable ride. If the fellow who bought it hadn;t put a note in my letterbox asking to buy it, Id still have it and as I said, I had put quite a few $ into it as I like my cars to be as good as they can be and for what it was, it was still good and crap at the same time if you know what I mean. I had a love/hate relationship with it. Always nice to watch vids of people who are passionate about the cars they drive and the effort and time they put into getting their cars looking and running nice, whatever the flavour. Passion beats brand every day of the week.
P250 is an interesting beast. Pretty rare now as there were only 248 of them built. A $50K+ price tag in 2002 put a lot of people off hence the low build number. I know as I had one when they were new. I still own one now but sadly not my original one. The engine is unique to the Tickford TE50, TS50 and P250. Tickford produced a promo video on the engine build back in the day and you can still find it on RUclips ruclips.net/video/6UJ8uDMS34o/видео.html
That was a great watch thanks for posting the link. When I first drove the p250 I was shocked in the duality of the 5.6 profile, in how much lowdown torque it had and at the same time how much it loved to rev up top. Unlike any pushrod V8 over driven before. I'm a Holden man till I die but I have a new respect for Tickford. That p250 is an outstanding street car. Does love the dinosaur juice though 🤣
@arkhsm sure did. One of the first in Australia to do it too. 400+ HP in an engine that only weighs 180KG. Lots of them in Cobra replicas out there now.
Even though I only own a series 1 AU sedan forte, I love it. And I also enjoy how people dislike AU's.
Makes me love AU's even more
Yeah this guy is gonna have millions of subs if he keeps this content up
Thanks fella! I hope you're right 🤞
Proud owner of a series 3 ute and absolutely drive it regularly
It brings a smile to my face every time I drive it even though it's a xr6 manual
I remember seeing this on display at the 2000 (around then) Sydney motor show and was blown away. What a great time for motoring back then.
In darling harbour right? I remember.
This one in the video does actually do some work. Hauling slabs of VB tins 💪
@ Yes at the old exhibition centre
Love that you showed the kid at the end of the video what a REAL v8 engine sounds like!
fun video.
gotta love the sbf

Same owner. Never sold it. Couldn’t do it
Love the start mate. Makes me wish i was back in those days.
Proud owner of a series 3 XR8 sedan here. The last of the Windsor V8s very underrated.
100% agree with you
Love my V8's especially this AU Pursuit ute.
Enjoying your videos keep em coming
Thank you fella I will do my best
Wow, what a BEAUTIFUL V8 sound!!! In South Africa this bakkie was known as the Ranchero.

Sweet au Fred
I own a 2014 XR6 Turbo. If " Time Travell " is invented I would go back in time and get Ford TE 50 / TS 50 Sedan that came with 5.6 Windsor Engine.
Missing the engine cover shroud
My favorite is the Santa Cruz shirt while in AUS! Lol way to go Charlie👏🏼

Yeah the fox mustang 302 and 5speed. What they could have done with the XF back in the 80s.

Great idea!
As long as the bloke who drives the Jackaroo has a missus who drives a Holden Camira...
Bwahahahahaha!!!!!!!
Aint no irs under that tray...
Actually, who wrote this? Entertaining but a fair amount of inaccuracies.
True!
The ute doesn't have independent rear suspension. Neither do most au falcons. Thumbs down.

Yeah naah pox ugly not really cool and sounds muted. Neext!
Needs a coyote motor haha
Backwards step 😜
@@fredssledshed gapsauce on youtubes done some work to his ute. I think hes bolting turbos on the windsor
The AU falcon is probably the worst falcon ever made. Absolute trash.
