Job well done, and a true DIY effort on a budget that will hopefully encourage many more people to have a go.
Don’t be too hard on yourself over the niggles. Most people won’t notice them anyway, and you’ve got plenty of time to fix them.
You clearly have experience getting the base coat right, or lots of practice 😊. It’s hard for a first timer to get metallics and pearls right - usually ending up too wet or too dry. Yours is perfect. I look forward to more content.

Black pearl is a bugger of a colour at the best of times I had an EB XR8 in the same colour. Never owning a black car again ! Yours looks good and remember they weren't spectacular finish from new

Man the best car I ever owned was a Polynesian green 5 speed ED XR6. It was written off by a Range Rover that went through a red light and I was heartbroken. The only car I’ve ever financed, and probably the only daily car I’ve ever bought because I HAD to have it, vs oh I need a car, I have this much, what can I buy/swap/trade. If I still had it now, 100% it would be a turbo Barra 6 speed swap. The E series is my favourite Falcon for sure. I’ve had 3 EA’s, 1 EB, 1 ED, 4 EF’s and 3 EL’s, and loved all of them.

Looks awesome and agree you don’t have to wait until they’re near finished to enjoy them.
Keen to see more like this, I have a AU XR6 slowly bringing back up to shape, will refer to this for paint time!

I find with darker colours it doesn’t hurt to close up your gap between passes and put down a first light coat for the paint to bond to on a second coat. Getting metallics right for a novice attempt I think you did a great job beside the things you identified but done in your garage yourself….be proud of it mate. Another good car saved from the tip for years to come 👍🏻

    Great job!
I saw a brief shot if this interior.
Rub a tiny bit of Vaseline on the demister switch.
Rub it off with a rag the next day. The switch will come up looking brand new. It won't stay oily or anything.
Also works for the orange buckle releases and the steering wheel buttons in the standard wheel
    ✌️

VERY nice job. It's a great job for a non professional. My first was a disaster, back when we still used enamel paint a lot. CURTAINS, NOT RUNS. LOL The average person in the street doesn't know what they're looking at. I probably would fix the bonnet though.
You should really be wearing gloves all the time. Both to protect your hands from the poisonous paint and thinners and protect the car from greasy fingerprints.
You probably vacuumed the floor but damping it down also will stop dust flicking up onto your job.
    Had to sub.

It looks great the black was a rare colour in NZ it's very similar to my EB that some knob rear-ended at traffic lights I've owned XF to EL and the EA - ED is my favorite. Finding good falcons in NZ is getting hard and if you do the prices are mental

My biggest worry if I ever get onto my 156 sportswagon is the dent repairs. You see so many failed patch jobs out there, there must be a surefire way to avoid issues. Fortunately I'd be working with Alfa Red, which is as basic as colours come. I wonder if an inflatable shed from someone like vevor would be worth it to safe on all the overspray all over the workshop.

For what it cost you that looks very good. I would be happy with that personally. It's not perfect, but most of that stuff no one will ever notice anyways unless it was a show car trying to get awards.
