Part 2! Welcome back everyone. Thanks so much for all support from part 1, I really appreciate it! For part 2 I make the trek back to Kimba in South Australia trying to get the 1991 EB Ford Falcon running and driving reliably so I can attempt to make the 500km trip back home in the car that has been parked in the same spot on a farm for the last 15 years. Not quite a barn find, more of a paddock find, last registered in 2008 and has been parked under a tree ever since. What's my plans with it? Drag car? New drift car? Street car? You'll have to watch and find out!
driving footage on road filmed by passenger
Thanks so much for the support everyone! I’m honestly blown away with how much everyone loved it so thank you all! I really enjoy doing this style of video so will be planning some more! Also, If anyone knows of a cool car that needs saving send me an email to jarradklingberg@gmail.com 🙏 save them all!
I have a mazda 929 with a barra 5 speed manual in it that I was going to use for drifting
Ur a Aussie car life saver
But there is this vacuum that can suck dust and the dirty stuff from the seat get that and u will see how is it
All my Fords & Holden's have fallen to pieces. Not much build quality imo. Never had a Japanese car fall to bits on me. Liked my Aussie built cars but they weren't exactly renowned for quality.
31:00 I do want to see more of this type of content because it’s cool to see Australian revivals
Shows how good the Falcon is after sitting all that time i would keep it stock. Worth more that way.
Keep it 100% original! It's a rather rare car these days!
It’s fecked
You bloody beauty.
This actually brought back some sweet nostalgic memories for me seeing the EB run about, my Dad used to have an EB GLi wagon, (and now I’m watching with a bit of pride now as a bloke who grew up with Falcons and now a proud owner of a BF MkII XT wagon) and I was not surprised at all that this beauty made it back to your place. Never underestimate a Falcon.
Yes please, keep the series going. Restorations like this just prove that things can be done when you put the work in. And they are a sweet thing to watch.
And unfortunately, the EBs are getting rarer and rarer. So if I was you, I would be keeping this beast as close to original as possible.
Beautiful job, mate.
Absolutely yes for more of this style vid, I'm a sucker for breathing life into machines that've been given up on! Though personally I'd go a totally different direction and try and clean it up into as nice a version of itself as it can be and daily it, but that's my nostalgia talking there
Love this!
Rub a tiny bit of Vaseline on the demister switch. Wipe it off the next morning.
The switch will be 100% restored back to Black
I’ll give this a shot! Cheers 👌
Good tip, saw your comment and tried it on my EA, not perfect but definitely looks a lot better.
Cheers.
I had one of those as a wagon in exactly the same colour - brand new. Company car. Drove it all over western Queensland and did 100,000km in 12 months. Very trustworthy and comfortable car in its day. It got swapped for a Commodore which promptly fell apart over the same roads. Went back to another EB, stuck an outback pack on it that included raised suspension and a sump guard and once again never missed a beat. They were solid old buses and proved themselves over some of the shittiest roads known to mankind.
I spent a lot of time around 90s Falcons and Commodores back in the day. Always liked the instant grunt of the Commodores from a standing start but you could easily tell it was the Falcons that were screwed together better. Close the doors on a VP and an EB: it was like night and day.
@@jakelong7976 Agree 100%. After about 20000km the doors on the VP and VR Commodores were sagging so bad from the corrugated roads they couldn't shut properly. The other issue was the car was built in Oz, the engine came from a Buick and the tranny was Japanese and none of it felt like it went together. I always found the Commodores challenging when overtaking as well. A couple of times they nearly killed me overtaking road trains when they refused to kick down properly and lost the torque.
Wow that is Amazing and he did a Wicked Job on the Car and I Score him 10/10 for sure and please keep up The Good Work Yeee haaa yeah bro.💡😊👌🤩🥇🏵👑👍💪😎
Loved this series mate. Better than anything on the tele
Watched PT1 and PT2 of the driving 500km in the falcon great to see an aussie doing things like the Yanks do i watch most of the shows from America, so keep it up loved it
Loved the video. Had an EB myself back in the 90s. More please.
Owned plenty of Falcons over the years so always good to see vids like this. I own an EBII Fairmont now so this series you have going is a much watch hopefully you keep going! Cheers mate
Got to love Sa can go grab a car out of a paddock slap rego on it and drive it no pit inspection required! Love these videos! Keep it up budget builds are the best love watching videos which are easily achieved by the average person great motivation for people getting into drifting without big $$
Only in South Australia where you can run any old junk on the road with no MOT (UK) or government inspections first. No wipers cut a potato in half and rub I on the window. Crazy distances, this country is so big. Keep it up Jarrad. Love your work.
Only problem, no potatoes 🤣 cheers 👌
Dont drift it you'll ruin it!
The poor Falcon has made it 32 years just tidy it up and cruise in it.
I own a tidy 1981 Ford LTD and FG XR6 Turbo.
My daily is a ex shitbox rally EA Falcon S Pac series 2, 1990 and Ive gotten her mechanically up to scratch and drives beautifully.
As a mechanic you honestly cannot buy anything new today as good as these Falcons!
Great video by the way.
Found these videos very interesting. Considering it had been sitting outside for 15 years it is in surprisingly good shape.
Keep the revival videos coming. The US channels are good, but great to see Aussie cars get fixed up and going.
Awesome video mate, love the old Falcons. great down to earth content which is what it's all about, looking forward to more! Bruce NZ
Good Aussie car made tough and reliable.
They honestly look sick on trident mags
hey jarrad I just scored myself an EA Fairmont wagon carport find lol looking at getting it on the road for my daily driver
Love these sort of videos. Keep it up
Nothing more Aussie... Cruising through the Outback in an Australian made car. Great video......
Thankyou!
Whatever you do it will be awesome
Chuck a ghia kit on it slam it on its guts and a t5 manual box 👌🤙 sleeper build would be Mint aswell
Great work love the video's
Go the Falcon...
The feeling of when they first start and first drive after sitting for a long time is so amazing!!! I got my mums 1996 hyundai excel running and driving after 9ish years of sitting. Ran amazing... only thing i changed was the fuel pump. Not bad for a Korean car with 300k+ on the clock!
It was manual (auto excel gearboxes are shit) and even the slave cylinder worked. Its getting a bit how you going after a year but thats a problem for another day XD
Be cool too see more of these videos mate
Thankyou! There will be more for sure
Great watch along, cheers👍
Up the mighty Falcon!
Keep it original mate, great content as well 👊
Yeah liked the will it go video
Keen to see all the builds mate.
Particularly on this.1991 EB series 1 Ford Falcon GL - Bringing it back to pretty much factory when it came off the line...
Thanks for sharing this content with us.
Cheers from, William.
Mount Gambier, South Australia.
Mate unreal video, more like this for sure
Great video.and go the falcon
Excellent videos! Really enjoyed it. If you can do more of these videos do it, they are really popular, certainly the type I watch more than anything. Gotta be lots of cars around that have sat for years. Make yourself the Oz Vice Grip Garage!! Good old Falcon, knew from the start she wouldn't let you down.
Got a subscribe from me and am definitely following.. love the box cars. I own a mpfi 4L factory manual. Very spicey
Considering the intake/carb was open to the elements it ran well. Also enjoyed the driving footage, my old stomping ground was the mid north of SA, good to see it getting some rain. Cheers
Really like this kinda video mate
cheers mate massive thanks . great content
Auto trans should be running shell xtr fluid, or similar, not dextron 3.
Also, is coolant temp reading low? Thermostat stuck open?
They’re cracking long distance cruisers. Well done on getting it up and running again.
I got stuck in kimba with no shops open and could only get dex 3 power steering fluid to start with so that’s what it coped from there on. If it stays auto the box with need a flush and service at minimum so I wasn’t too bothered.
Loved watching every bit of this one! Drove all the roads you took many times when I lived in pt Lincoln, if I’m not mistaken that was auto1 pt Augusta! That placed saved me a few times, most notable one was driving a Gu patrol from Adelaide to Lincoln in 40+ temps the bottom rad hose “walked” off the bottom of the rad into the ac compressor and chewed a hole thru it dumping all my 2 day old coolant out! Found a random irrigation pipe joiner in the Ute which I used as a “repair” section to make up the damaged section, all done in a rest bay 60km out, but it got me to pt Augusta and auto1 had the rad hose on the shelf by some miracle! Definitely would love to see more of this style of content!
That’s the one. Where there’s a will there’s a way! Haha
Also had my patrol do the exact same thing to me too 😅
Loved watching the old Falcon come back to life , definitely would like more of this content , maybe have a go at getting that Mazda Capella running it looked pretty complete under the bonnet 👍😁
Thank you! Yep pretty complete, I recon it’s possible.
Imagine if u cooked that trans doin the outback skid lol. Them old girls are tough alright. A bit more love and u could daily that thing no sweat. Nu sub by the way....
🤣 would have been worth it
E series were a great model.
Great job on the EB, I reckon you could get the capella going.Give it a crack, atleast start it. Some really salvagable parts on it.
be a pretty decent car when up and running properly, can't go wrong with those older-type Falcons
She cleaned up alright, the old girl.
Love your video, i would like to see this type of content in the future. I would rather to see the falcon stock, as many of them dont exist anymore
Nice one.. great to see a Will it run & Drive Australian version worth while watching.. Awesome work mate
Hey bud, shes a pretty tidy ol eb aye. Just a bit of friendly advice in regards to the aftermarket dizzy ya threw in. When ya get a chance, pull it back out and swap the drive gears over so your running the the gear on it thats original to the motor. Ive seen it a few times where the aftermarket one has damaged the auxiliary shaft after time.
Cheers, I’ll keep that one in mind 👌
New subscriber. Nice seeing good old Aussie cars on a run and drive. Add $1 per litre and that's what it is in NZ.
You need to do the Mazda Capella 💯
My first car. ‘89 EA-II with the centre point injected motor paired to a 5 speed. It would sit all day long at 110ks and the fuel economy was excellent. Air con was hopeless….
I've been falcon waiting for this bloody vid! 🤣🤣
Great foundation to be the aussie VGG!!
😂 i can appreciate a falcon good pun. I appreciate the kind words 🙏
Very Interesting 2 part vid. Would like to see more of these. 👍
Love the falcon content keep it up 😂🤙🏾
MORE thanks
Ive been waiting for this video all week
Awesome video! I’d love to see a turbo build! Huge fan of these drivetrains🙂
Good content mate ( in addition to the drift)
Saw one of these on 4 stud rims at the bend a few weeks ago, 😂 took me a second to pick what looked out of place
I had the same thing to when I was out there, definitely had a double take 🤣
Keen as to see more videos 👌 90's e series falc 😎
Revive and drives are where it’s at
Good to see she got you home, not bad for a car that was sitting as long as it was
I was very surprised!
I would like to keep on seeing more of the videos on this. EB Falcon taking it on more road trips of some sort. I'd enjoy watching out for that each time if that was to happen. Yes it would be a good idea converting this car too. A factory look - 5 speed manual like it came off the Ford line in September 1991. If You do decide to do that.
I hope you enjoy whatever you do with the car, mate.
Thank you! More to come for sure.
Keen to see all the builds mate
brilliant stuff ol falcon should make it shes tough
Great video mate,I drove a ed Fairmont from Brisbane to Perth and back and it didn't miss a beat back in 2003.This bought back great memories, look forward to seeing more on this cheers
Looking forward to watching more vids on the EB
G,day mate knew she'd make it based on the fact it ran when you started it , mate had last of ea as 5 speed and it was dynamite even at 650,000 km still healthy and very lively
great couple of videos. love the falcon
Absolutely loved this video mate. Well done. I’m looking forward to seeing what you turn this into.
Falcon oath !
I have always wanted to put a 351 Cleveland in one of those.
New to the channel, loved every minute of this one!
Great stuff i enjoyed this very much thank you
Love it do some more
Keep up these style of videos mate. Cool to see one of these come back to life being in a couple as a kid. Dad's last EB blew a head gasket between Canberra and Goulburn a much shorter trip 😂so for yours to make it the 500km after a 15 year rest is very cool
I was literally waiting for the head gasket to be a problem, probably why they disconnected the temp gauge 😂
I reckon a sleeper rebuild. Keep your Corolla’s for drifting and keep the EB for the street’n’strip💙
Could be the go!
Would love a regular vice aussie grip type video's 😊 this was great
Loved this video, sad to see its going to be wrecked. It's hard to find them totally stock nowadays it's a shame to see one that's survived get wrecked. But your car your choice...
To be honest there is a lot of rust in this one, if it was a very clean example or perhaps a special model I would consider keeping it standard. But I understand what you are saying, Let’s see how it pans out.
Fair enough. Where abouts is the rust?
Roof, sil panel, rear wheel arch. Haven’t had it on the hoist yet to check under it.
Nice Project Car. Engine Oil, Spark Plugs, air filter and most likely oil filter got changed also. just need to change ATF with filter and flush the Torque Converter, Rear Diff Oil, Fuel filter, Brake fluid, Power Steering fluid, Coolant and thermo-stat left. Wiring most likely need to be changed also. Going to run it on Royal Purple or Liqui Moli after 1st oil change ? K&N Air Filter will also be a good if wanting to get better air flow out of it. Good job on car will like to see more of it.
You probably removed the body earth when replacing the stater motor, by memory its usually connected to a starter motor bolt.
I too thought that may have been the case but had a good look under there and couldn’t see one, I haven’t had it on the hoist yet though.
Mate it will learn to idle this was very very common that's why they had battery minders back in the day when u changed the battery
In surprisingly good nick for having sat neglected in the sun for 15 years!
Plenty of paint fade and some rust, but I’ve seen a lot worse after sitting for less time.
Would be keen to see the travelling time-lapses more often keep up the good work mate 👊👊👊 up the falcon
Great 2 part vid mate, good to see my work on there too, (the iron knob mine)
Nice, someone picked it 👌
@klingbergmotorsport love seeing south Australia vids
It made it! 👏 weldy spool time
Definitely recommend changing the dizzy gear next time! Stripped aux gear will teach you otherwise 🎉😂
id be using optimax 98 for abit to clean out the gunk in the motor and tank and swapping the head lights and taillights with leds so they last longer
Kimba. My daughter lives in Whyalla. At least after u washed it itd take 3 minutes of sa heat to dry
ef falcon rims are 15 inch 5 stud. they bolt straight on.
I only was suggesting the 4 stud 15s to do something different, and I have 22 of them 😅
Transmission slip ,I'd try a filter kit new oil ,might just be gunk in the filter stopping full flow
Definitely on the cards 👌
I reckon it should be restored it's at that age now where you could consider it a classic with historic/club plates
It will be going on historic rego for sure 👌
Ill be honest with ya bro, really enjoyed this video. Havent seen your other content and probably wont (drifting isnt my thing) but if you make the odd one of these ill definitely tune in. But keep doing what you enjoy, ive seen to many youtubers turn from there passion to what gets views. Not saying you dont enjoy rescueing cars, just keep doing what you enjoy and those like minded will be right there with ya.
Thanks for the support, I can appreciate that drifting isn’t for everyone. I have actually done a couple of these rescues before this and never filmed it as I’d never thought about chucking them on RUclips but if the people really enjoy them then I’ll make it happen more often!
awesome
Save the capella !
Mate check u jave not left one of the earths off laying under the battery was a very common thing to do as they had 4 separate earth wires going to the battery when i work for the NRMA on these
Yrah, like this type of content. I follow another Aussie channel that does rescues, Backshed. The bloke there, Mick, does really good content. Wouldn't it be easier to get 15 inch EB Falcon pattern rims?
Cheers. If I do it, I would be going to it for the style the small 4 stud wheels offer.
Good content 👍. Lock me in for option B, turbo’ lowered n hubcaps n auto still.
save the capella!!
