Its finally going in and staying in! The RB30E T is at home in the VN Commodore for good now and heck it looks good blacked out. The rb25det manual gearbox was made for this car, I used the standard VN 3.8 auto transmission cross-member and it bolted straight up to the gearbox, I just had to redrill 2 holes for the chassis side.     Good job brother, it's good to see someone doing it in their shed and not sending it out. I'm 55 got a few cars including a blown hq coupe, do pretty much everythingin the shed. Don'tworry about negative feedback build the car you want (everybody's got an opinion). I enjoyed watching the video including getting parts out of a paddock, are you a fitter?     Don't paint the radiator, polish it up to match the extractors. It will give a little contrast throughout the engine bay. Just my thoughts. I love your work, keep it up.

    Silver, for sure. It’ll work with the alloy plenum, etc, and make the engine bay look lighter and cleaner. Leaving it raw will also mean that there’s no paint / powder coat to get chipped or peel off.

    Black radiator for me. Those headers look bloody nice, hence my earlier comments. Anything SSS was imported from Japan and came with some cool goodies, aside from the venerable L20 single carby engine, such as gearbox etc. Personally I would like to see 15" Minilite's for the wheels. The current ones look ok though.

    Looks schmick for a rattle can rebuild. Those headers look the same as used on Formula Atlantic open wheel cars from the 80's, bloody nice in any case!

    When they space a crossmember down like that does the steering shaft need too be modified or does it have the engagement still too just slide out ?

      It does slide out a bit yes, but I like to modify the bottom piece of the steering column to suit. The crossmember spacers and moving the rack forward mean the steering shaft has to be lengthened.

      Depends how it’s driven, but a lower power car does benefit from some Ackerman. In saying that this set up would work with any power level 👌
