Haha. Yep couple reasons behind that, can’t machine hardened axles, not easily anyway and also can’t grind on the lathe as it will damage the bed. So I’m still stuck cutting some stuff with the grinder haha 👌
Pretty deadly budget build.The black sills make it not look as low. Sucks what happened with the timing, oh well, we live we learn. How's a Capella progress? Looking forward to how you tackle that one. IO, by the way you kesev pano is dope AF!

I’d be really surprised if it’s bent a valve rb30 are renown to be free runners over the years I’ve had a couple with snapped belts line it all back up and slap a new belt on and away you go
I also thought it wouldn’t have been a problem, I retimed it. Then rechecked it 5 times. Spun it on the starter and could hear it was down on compression (sounds like the spark plugs are out). Re checked timing another 5 times to be sure, comp test. Be lucky if I got 10psi on cyl 1 and called it 😅
I’m just putting it down to shaved head and thin metal head gasket (1.2mm) but until I get the head off I can’t be sure. I didn’t check piston to valve clearance when I assembled it as I didn’t think it would be an issue 😬
Like I said in the video, if they were the same colour grey front and rear I would have went down that route I think. But personally I actually really like black bars.

My mates vl turbo snapped the belt at full noise and did no damage verry unlucky too do that damage at low rpm 😢
I didn’t think it would have. But shaved head and thinner metal head gasket was enough to do it unfortunately 😅
I had the same one owner 89 VN with 80,000 kms sadly wrote it off in 2002 :(
