@@rendaddy_As a car guy he’s much smarter than the average person. And probably smarter than you. Plus EV’s don’t have an engine so it’s mostly tech. Plus for more complex cars Marques has Miles who knows quite a bit about cars.
I bought my 2024 Air Pure back in Summer and it has been incredible. Lucid was the only car company that could get me out of my Porsche Cayman, which I still think is one of the best sports cars of all time. I'm a Porsche guy, but Lucid has really impressed me and I'm excited to see how the Gravity release goes.
@@KameronKDH I was surprised too, I'd really recommend hopping in one of these and checking it out on the road. Definitely won't be for everyone, but I wanted to try an EV and I live in SoCal where we have charging infrastructure everywhere. It turned out to be a pretty easy decision: the Lucid destroys the Taycan. I lived with two Taycans as loaner cars when the Cayman was in the shop and the Taycan is simply too cramped for a 6'3" guy like me. And FORGET putting anyone in the backseats of the Taycan, it's practically a 2 seater unless you have kids. Also if you are cross shopping the two, I'd recommend driving them back-to-back. I literally drove my loaner Taycan to the Lucid showroom in my area and tested them back-to-back-to-back and I felt like the Lucid had better chasis control, better suspension damping, and more feedback through the steering wheel.
Every single one of these electric vehicles should come with heated/ventilated seats upfront and possibly even heated/ventilated seats in the second row. These cars have glass sunroof in many cases that do not open. Some of them have moonroof, but it’s very few and far between. They need to ensure that every single time I precondition this car that getting into it, presents me with cooled seats or heated seat seats. The options should include massage seats for the driver and front seat passenger. But at this point in the game, massage seats should be optional for the second row as well. If Hyundai and Kia can do it, then these other companies can do it as well. But the desire for these options is more so obvious with an electric vehicle specifically because of the reason I mentioned. When it’s 100°F outside, I can pre-cool my Cadillac lyriq and know that when I step foot inside the car that the seats will be cooled and the interior will be cool as well. That process takes about 10 minutes. The same goes for when it’s freezing outside: the heated seats, heated steering wheel and interior cabin heat all work together to present you with a comfortable vehicle.
To be honest NOT having stuff like soft close doors and powered open frunk is an advantage for me. I'm sick of cars adding complexity and points of failure for features that really don't improve the ownership experience at all. I place a premium on simplicity and reliability. Lucid seems way better in that aspect.
Physical controls and latches are much more necessary than people realize. I have a 2024 VW Atlas with zero real buttons except for the steering wheel. It's not great...
Starting in 2025 all Air and Gravity will have J3400 instead if J1772 ports. When the Lucid Midsize Sedan ( AKA Lucid Ocean [Not Lucid Midsize]) comes out the Pure will get a quality bump including all trims getting auto frunk, soft close doors, and heated seats.
I love EVs.. and was torn between the Model S and a Lucid.I really like the Model S but Lucid has so many good options.. I rented both and can 100% say, I will be going with a Model S. Here's my biggest takeaways from the Lucid: 1) It should be illegal to have that much a blindspot. The A pillar is massive. I thought I could get use to it but man...just can't. 2) Their software is abysmal compared to Tesla. I know they're new but when you're competing with the best, you have to do a lot of things well and software is just not one of those things. 3) I'm 5'6 and I hit my head EVERY TIME I got into the Lucid. 4) To really compare a Lucid w/ a Model S, you have to compare a Lucid Touring, not the Pure. And the Touring is like another 9k upgrade The stuff that comes standard with a Tesla, you have to upgrade a lot more to even get a comparison. Tesla Standards: Glass roof, heated steering wheel and back seats, ventilated seats, Driving Hardware, blacked out accents. So to get all that on a Lucid will make it $90k vs the standard $75k on a Tesla...Just to get the same car. 5) My biggest gripe is this: If there's one thing Tesla did right, it was giving every car all the hardware/cameras needed for their software to run, regardless of model or price. Lucid chose not to do this. So let's say you buy a Lucid and dont buy their "DreamDrive" AKA FSD. If they somehow get a great "FSD" software and you wanted to use it, you'd have to buy a whole new vehicle because the one you bought doesn't have all the hardware and cameras to run it. Horrible decision!
70K!!!! no, we need more competition in the $35K-$40K range or Tesla will just always be the default. $70K+ range - there is no need for competition there, whales don't look at price tags anymore at that range
“Lucid produced 1,728 vehicles and delivered 1,967 in the first quarter, equating to a loss of nearly $350,000 for every Air sedan it sold in the first three months of the year(2024)”

Won't trust a electric car company cannot make the Bluetooth connection working properly for android. This sounds like a garage can't inflate a tire with proper PSI. 7:56
Marques - Lucid loses >$200k per car sold. Due to this, it will never be a 1 to 1 comparison as lucid can just add premium materials and still 'sell it at around the same price'. Sure based on that the end consumer sees, sure, it might be comparable but it is no way the same. Also it's comically funny you call Lucid a better engineered car 😂😂
I don't get why only Carplay and not android auto? either both or none. I have an android and if I knew it didn't offer it, I would walk out the dealer. They lost $70K over a $10 feature

You’re not comparing them apples to apples. You’re comparing this brand new Lucid with an older Tesla in your head. The 2024 Model 3 highland is much better with better suspension, less noise, seat cooling and more
Why would anyone want CarPlay over the Tesla System lmao. The reason carplay exists is because of crappy car systems. The tesla system is great and beats CarPlay in any way.
*??? What's with all the airline pilot control stuff? Didn't they learn anything from Tesla?? People don't want a thousand knobs and push buttons all over their cars anymore. That's one of the main reason Tesla sells so good. It doesn't look like the inside of an airplane pilots control center!*
