i don't mind these videos, James makes them fun, but i do miss the higher effort series you guys did that kinda disappeared. Bumper 2 Bumper episodes looking at some awesome car or Jerry teaching us how something works in detail for half an hour, Nolan's or James' essays on historical manufacturers or people, the Money Pit with Zach showing actual practical stuff, the list goes on. Don't get me wrong i still enjoy the channel and i love all you guys make, but lately it's been feeling like the videos aren't as quality as your previous series.
While I agree, I like old B2B and miss money pit, these videos get a lot of views, consistently. Jerry’s motorcycle project video got way less views than these. It’s kinda sad, but they are a company and need to make money. But yeah James makes these videos good.
They could get me wrong all they want. The channel is way less fun than it used to be and I constantly skip new videos, or leave halfway in. This one was fun, though.
I agree. It seems like they have been running out of ideas for content. They could have done build series for their personal cars but I get how that could get messy. I think Money Pit is the one I miss most followed by Up to Speed and B2B.
Since a lot of other people are saying it I will throw my 2 cents in. I like these videos, But I really do miss bumper to bumper, wheel house, money pit etc. I thought there was mention of another high low coming. High low is probably one of the best and most creative series in the car RUclips community. For years there have been people building cars on a budget and at the same time people who have been building cars with the most expensive parts they can find because they believe it is truly worth the extra cost, and I think high low really shines a light that you can get the same or similar performance for half the cost. (in most cases). High low definitely needs to come back! I think that instead of doing a specific build like off road or drifting, just do a standard street build that MOST car enthusiasts are likely to build, and with a commonly modified car, like a wrx or civic or something. Any car that has an affordable base model that people tend to build. The most common first mod is an air intake. I'd like to see a test between an AutoZone drop in filter and a $500 carbon fiber covered intake.
@@roytoy the problem isn’t the prices, it’s that the wages haven’t gone up at the same rate like they are supposed to. Federal minimum wage would be $25/hr if it kept up with inflation.
I think the biggest issue with Donut content at the moment is that they're gutting a bunch of content like Up To Speed, Wheelhouse etc, which I understand research is hard and there's only so many cars you can get a hold of, but more importantly is that content feels too quick. I think Tool Time with Jerr Bear and The Hunk and Tax Write-Offs For Content are great additions to the show but you can really feel like a lot of stuff is left on the cutting room floor. The two biggest examples I have of this are the "Pigs Blood as Oil Coolant" video and the "Pick-up Bed Pool" video. There was a scene in the Pigs Blood video where they straight up cut the final expirement for maple syrup as coolant. I get the pigs blood was the main headline maker but if you aren't even gonna commit to showing us everything then why have it in the line up. With the Pool video, they show Jerry I think in the pool filled up as it's moving for like half a second at the start of the video and the only time we see context is at the very end when the imbedded videos cover half the screen and you don't even get that much extra footage. The whole shot feels like a checked off box, like the higher ups say "There has to be a wacky scene that generates both a reaction of the crew and potentially the audience". I get that I'm ranting about two scenes in two videos but I just feel like Donut reeks of corporate disonance and feels more like clickbait auto journalism and not people being people. Also when was the last time you saw "| Donut Media" in a title
Its too formulaic. Its beyond a problem nowadays. I wrote about the depth of the content and how over time their market has completely changed... It just feels like a corpse of a channel.
I've been wondering how other people felt about donuts content recently. I've been watching them for years and like other people said, I do like this content since it's entertaining but I do miss the other series they used to do.
Just another example of "Oh we're popular now? Well..lets produce 1/4 of the content, and 1/4 of the price...and profit 10x as much! Problem is, people still provide views because we're loyal.
@@Null94 That didn't seem to be necessary like a year ago. And don't say "they have to hire more people, pay bills etc." You underestimate how much RUclips channels earn. Merch aside.
Got introduced to Donut through the awesome ‘evolution of skyline’ in 2017, loved every additional member and set, proud of how Donut grew, sadly all must come to an end, feels like a recession.
@@SanguchitoGaming i think hes talking about how donut content is lacking the effort and insight it used to have. All they do now is regurgitate informstion and test crappy amazon products
I think a good idea for a new money pit is buying a car that actually doesn't run and need repairs to even start during the first episodes. So we can see a complete journey with the car.
Man I remember waiting for Donut Media videos every week. And now it doesn't feel rewarding anymore! It's great that they made it big and started uploading videos everyday but now I don't really mind missing a few videos.
I'd love to see more cars being built, loved both of the Z series and the whole yotas tacos offroad adventure. Glad to see James is still here to make our dys!
I feel like this could have been a multi part series. I would have loved to learn more about what features the vehicle has and if/why the price is justified. PLEASE make this a series. I would watch every episode.
I've loved going over Donut's stuff, you guys really have smashed a nail on the head with your work but something that struck me early on, and I think you're now realising, is how this sort of thing has to mature into a steady state. You cranked out a lot of content, you made us all laugh, you put on more shows and it feels like you're scrambling for content to keep the train going. That's why TopGear only had one episode a week, things aren't moving all that quickly. That said, a timeframe like that just doesn't work on RUclips. To be a little more positive, I think you guys had an amazing idea with the 'High Low' series- wanted to see something mid-range in there aswell but it was fantastic to see it applied to the 4x4's-, the project builds and pro vs DIY. Think an Old vs New kind of show would be cool, bike content, F1/2/3/Rally/Dakar reviews. Never forget you can rip off TopGear/CarTrek and make roadtrips and challenges show with you and the guys. That template has stood the test of time, people love it, it feels raw and we got to see places most people can't go to, throw in a little history and camping... Winner.
I miss Up To Speed man, James has a knack for automotive informational story time, he liked it too, now too often we see videos about car prices…bums us ALL out man…
There’s nothing more entertaining than a group of friends being themselves together, Unedited and uncut, just working on cars. Driving cars, whatever, this video makes me feel like I’m in a classroom. With a hilarious teacher though. Just record yourselves having fun.
B2B is what got me into cars in the first place three years ago, I loved the engineering series and up to speed and I'm pretty sure I've watched every video from those three. This is the first donut video I'm watching in a while cause it's at least a semi interesting monolist concept for once and I gott say I feel let down. I'm glad to see others in the comments share my viewpoint on this, but I'm really sad that this stuff is just all that donut is now.
I wonder what car company would be at the top of the list if you list the cheapest car it even sold, Bugatti seems the obvious answer but wonder if any obscure company can beat it. You'd have to adjust for inflation or it would just be all the really old cars.
I like how light hearted and just funny this was where you could hear everyone in the studio laughing too. I assume these videos are a nice cool down for everyone
I wonder what the most a car company could make a car to target old rich people would be that one of them would still buy. "this is our bespoke cruising mansion that we're only making 1/2 of 1 complete vehicle of, it costs a billion dollars."
Man it's kinda depressing to see the direction Donut has taken since they were acquired. Really miss the classics like B2B, Up to Speed, Money Pit, and especially Wheelhouse. Still love the OG Donut crew and really like the new additions (Justin is a great pickup) but these "list" videos just feel so low effort and come across as "we ran out of good ideas but we still need to put SOMETHING out." Bring back old Donut Media! *Edit* I think the recent video about motorcycles with Jerry was a great video, more content like that!
A bakery can only sell stale donuts for so long before all the customers catch on and quit buying. Bring back the good fresh content. You guys were awesome 2-3 years ago. Now not so much.
^ underrated metaphor This channel is gonna die and go into obscurity much like jalopnik in a year or so. already i don't listen to the content, its background noise.
8: 20 I think the Donut crew forgot about the Fisker Karma from 2011-2012. Wikipedia says the most expensive model was 116.000$. The only reason I remember that model is because a neighbor had a Karma of some sort. The IRL looks of that car blew me away nearly as much as the price tag! The current manufacture Karma was founded in 2014.
Since everyone is talking about donut content, I'd like to take this opportunity to say I miss science garage. It was a really fun show. Also, I would like to apologize to Jeremiah for not liking him at all at first. I'm pretty sure I commented on a few videos that he sucked or something. I actually really like him and think donut has a great cast now. I agree with a lot of what others have said here. I love donut I just hope they listen to some of the suggestions.
Seriously I use science garage to help me study with the automotive course I'm in right now. I'd love it if they brought it back but maybe kept it on topic a little better than the old science garage videos
I thought I would get over it but I haven't. I still miss Bart & Science Garage. That was easily their best show. I also disliked that James threw in Jeremiah (who was brand new at the time) to "replace" Bart. But yes they have definitely been prioritizing profits over the quality of their content as of late.
@@ojsimpson9516 I mean, most people have a kid and keep working, maybe they take a few months off. I'm not a conspiracyist but it feels like there's more to the story
Big thank you to Pontiac, I bought the G8 and used the rest of the money at the drive-thru in my new G8 to buy a cheeseburger. Had they not done that, I wouldn't have eaten that cheeseburger.
I am glad you included Indian brands like Tata, Mahindra, Romanian brand Dacia and Spanish brand Seat which are all not widely known but you did miss some popular domestic brands like Malaysian Proton and Perodua, South Korean SsangYong and Samsung, Russian Lada, Tiwanese Luxgen, Vietnamese VinFast and Iranian Iran Khodro. They all make very interesting cars for domestic markets and might not be globally popular but are a hit in their own nations.
Got a ride in a base Yugo, Was motorcycling with a friend when the bike quit, so we hitchhiked. A mom with kids stopped and offered the back seat. The both of us climbing back there and the ride was comically cramped as we pretzeled ourselves for the 2 mile ride to town.
65K? That’s not bad at all for a half ton these days. You could easily pay double that for a brand new F250. Doesn’t make the 10 thousand dollar Cummins option any less anal though.
Why is the content so mid compared to before 💀 what happened to UTS and B2B (especially B2B) I even feel like science garage would fit into their current lineup of series super well, like has anybody really realized how wheelhouse has just kind of been phased into all of donut content
The Donut subreddit is blaming Donut's new owners, Recurrent. And they have the right to. Since about a month ago they've been dropping in quality. No B2B, no UtS, no WheelHouse. Just this. The little optimist in me hopes they'll come back. But if the money's on here, I'm starting to doubt it. EDIT: Watch 'till the end of the vid or skip to it cuz this vid mid AF. They've acknowledged it!
Maybe thats the reason why youtube stopped recommending me donut's videos, cuz they've changed the type of content and it doesn't fit on my search for car history anymore. Thats crazy af

Why is this video not adjusted for inflation?! Makes no sense comparing car prices from 20 years ago to cars from 2021. Side note: You guys have 6.92 million subscribers now and your videos have never been more boring. I could watch Zack work on cars whilst Nolan talks facts about them all day but instead we get James reading a spreadsheet.
Because it would pf gotten stupid if they went off market value or market adjusted prices. It was the price they sold for, simple as that. Get over it. The f60 for 2.5mil would of been like 4.5mil. Even the gmc truck would pg been in the 90's all day.
10:27 for the gold plated Delorean DMC 12, priceValue of $85,000 from 1980 to 2022 $85,000 in 1980 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $305,624.51 today, an increase of $220,624.51 over 42 years. The dollar had an average inflation rate of 3.09% per year between 1980 and today, producing a cumulative price increase of 259.56%. That's a lot of money for a golden crapbox.
Respect for the fact you great people at Donut media still included Lancia. Aaaand, understanding and knowing that FIAT and Abarth are two different companies. Donut, your amazing! And also, "any FIAT can be an Abarth, but no Abarth is a FIAT".
Very Nice to see James mention Romania and trying to speak some words. I reccomend doing a video of Dacia 1310/1410 SPORT version of it because there are a lot of mindblowing and interesting facts about it,compared to any sport version of any production cars ever concepted and built.
Need another hi/low, money pit, B2B. Im really looking forward to the bike series since its something ive been wanting to get into recently. Both getting one, fixing it up and such. Keep it up
If we're doing companies that still exist but cars that kinda don't, the Chrysler 300 SRT8 MSRP was $58, 075 and was discontinued in 2014. That's 25 bux higher than that minivan and way cooler. Possibly faster. Seats don't fold into the floor, so it's probably a wash
Donut has a lot of fans and a lot of content to produce. They post on RUclips most days of the week. And they have two podcasts now. Saying all this to say, everything great in entertainment has filler episodes. They need to make this content so that they have the time to actually work on the content everyone is asking for. They are very aware that Money Pit, B2B, Wheelhouse, and Hi/Low are extremely popular series. But they have a lot to maintain in order to produce this material. Be patient with them guys, and enjoy the light hearted content like this. These videos to me help me learn about cars I never knew about. There are at least 20-25 cars on this list that I’ve literally never heard of. Perhaps more. I think that is very informative and worth watching.
In the meantime, go rewatch the old series you love over again. I do that and there’s always stuff I either forgot about, or didn’t notice the first time around.
These videos may not have the stakes or the drama of the build stuff or the product tests but I always click them as soon as I get home from work. After a really long day I enjoy a simple, but really funny videos about topics I’m curious about. Keep these going, keep ‘em all going
The G8 GXP, The Vauxhall Alphabet Soup, and the Holden Alphabet Soup. What was the 4th? It also makes me sad how expensive the Holden was vs the Vauxhall which were the same car it's because of the Australian dollar being weird.
03:47 YAY DAIHATSU! I Actually own a Japanese made 2011 Terios SX which runs undoubtly today. It's got good room for me and my friends, a cool sounding 1.5, Awd w/ 4WD, and just, such an epic compact suv! It's really rare to find these days as they discontinued the japanese model, and production is going in Indonesia, which I regret their decision. Daihatsu has a great history and makes wonderful cars. Glad you mentioned it, Jamie James! Btw, why not tell Nolan to make a talk about Daihatsu? That would be a hit!
Daihatsu rebadged as Toyotas are crawling all over South East Asia. e.g Toyota Avanza, Vios and Corrolla Altis which is the picture shown. they are cool cars
@@kristyanmirasol342 That's a true point. However to my knowledge, some Toyotas are rebadged, even Perodua. For an example, the Perodua Elite Viva, it has a Daihatsu engine. The pixis line up, all Daihatsu, the newer town ace minivan, it's also Daihatsu, but some Toyotas are Daihatsu rebadged, like the Camry. The fact that Daihatsu wouldn't make expensive cars like Toyota (Land cruiser, Crown, etc.), is that Daihatsu is focusing to make cheaper cars for the country as ever since the world war attack revealed to them, they became really poor and had to manafacture cheaper cars. But these little cars are amazing! I've seen many reviews of the Terios, Mira, Charade, the Tanto, etc, people love them, although they do complain the size, which was made for the japanese market.
@@TheTeamTilly I have this thing that, if an American RUclips channel, or else Australia, etc, posts a video about Daihatsu, I just get so excited. You see, Daihatsu isn't that popular, but ppl love them. It just makes me so proud that other countries are loving these cars and making videos about them!
You guys should do this video prompt again, but instead of the most expensive car's MSRP from each brand, it should be the most expensive car from each brand to ever sell. Whether that be a crazy rare model of a car that was cheaper originally but sold for millions (300 SLR), or a vin #1 car, or an old celebrity iconic car even. I think that would make for a pretty killer video!
I had a hand me down manual geo spectrum for my first car....loved that little thing. The clutch broke and my parents as well as the mechanic were like, it is not worth it to fix it! Come on, a clutch was worth more than the car? I wish I would have fixed it. I would still have that thing....pop a turbo in it haha
17:09 - the TVR Cerbera Speed 12 never actually went into production, although they had taken deposits so I suppose it was "technically" on sale. Oh, and also to note, the exchange rate in 2003 would mean the USD price would be closer to $410,000 (£245,000, and around 0.6 GBP for 1 USD at the time), not including import charges etc...
Donut’s most informative, well researched content isn’t on RUclips anymore, it’s the Past Gas podcast. It’s the only thing they make that I enjoy and listen to the day it comes out. I just wish bumper to bumper, up to speed, and science garage would come back. Why would you stop making your best content?
this video was ok but im seeing a lot of others that really miss your old series. I miss B2B, Up to Speed, and especially Wheel House. And maybe its nostalgia but the first money pit and hilow was just better. it didnt feel rushed like any of the seasons afterwards. Tool party is kinda fun but when i found out you guys replaced wheel house with that? I stopped liking it. Wheelhouse made mondays fun and kept me up to date with the car world in a fun way
It's wild how the quickest car in the world from 1987 wasn't a Ferrari, it wasn't a Lamborghini, it wasn't even a Porsche.... It was a Buick lol and it didn't have a fancy V10 or V12 engine, it had a V6... For a mini van lol
Probably an impossible task, but i would love to see some of these cars being torn down and appraised to see if they are really worth the asking price that the manufacturers charge. But then again. Its estimated that the manufacturers cut lies somewhere between 10-20% depending on the car and also the brand - Some brands just charge more just because they can.
@@alexm566 Well, let me say it this way then, Brabus will probably have own VINs on Mercedes cars, since it is a Tuning company that usually tunes Mercedes cars, So the Smart probably will NOT have their VIN number. And even if it does a VIN doesn't make it not a Smart car, since it has a bodykit and an engine tune
I drove a Dacia duster 2000 km in Iceland a couple months ago. Didn’t have ac (though apparently not really necessary in Iceland), and no cruise control (has a speed limiter instead). Definitely not a car that I would recommend day to day, but super popular around the country.
They made a lot of options for it. In earlier versions from 2010 for the lowest price possible (8k euro if I remember correctly) you get a SUV but w/o the comfort of AC and cruise control (just limiter). The newer models (2014 and beyond) they got a lot of standard stuff on it
well for 2022 models onwards you can pretty much get anything on them, including multiple airbags, electronic hand brake, auto safety brake system, multimedia with android/iPhone phone connectivity via Bluetooth, back camera, sensors, shift indicators, cruise control, speed limiter, SOS button (since 2014), hill climb assist, and so many others... it is true that the base models come almost bear bones, but you have other levels and optionals. so you can chose what you need
Fun fact: The SSC tuatara is named after a cool lizard, and has an NRE engine in it. Always thought that car was wild edit: and apparently has so far gone 295 mph.
I missed watching Up to Speed. Those seemed like the best, well researched and most creative videos from Donut. Hell! they're the reason I subscribed. D-List is a flop. I can Google all of this. Please James, let's push for something more fun and educative.
I don't know why I laughed so hard when he said that he would daily the McLaren, wouldn't wash it and it would be COVERED in bird poop. I had to pause the video.
At this point Donut needs to do an apology video. They need to come clean, and focus on the content that people really want to watch. Cause this isn't fun anymore and i think everyone agrees at this point.
i don't mind these videos, James makes them fun, but i do miss the higher effort series you guys did that kinda disappeared.
Bring back science garage!
I agree, but at the same time Hi Low and Tool Party have been enjoyable, and I love the motorcycle/ATC vids but it seems they don't get views :(

Honestly donut content has become filler for me nowadays. James yells for no reason, i have it on in the background.
He could just stare at the camera for 5 minutes trying to keep a straight face and I would watch it.

Next video: all car brands cheapest car
😮😅😂
@mmpj twod yep. Devel 16 actually costed $43M.
I think all the builds would be better. They should do a dead brand like Mercury! That’d be a CHALLENGE. Lol
high-low definitely made me really like Donut. This guy's humor gets old unfortunately..
“Poor people, goodbye” my man you left us at Geo 😂
100% ,let's go online
Finally someone said it
Fun education has just become a bit too silly and click bait
Its too formulaic. Its beyond a problem nowadays.

Winner.
If your saying they need a tv series I agree
When they started reviewing Wish products it went downhill.

@@yammmit media company that now owns/manages donut and directs their new style of content :/ I fucking hate these companies destroying channels for clicks
A good idea for money pit could be a car that doesn't runs and need repair.
For hilow maybe muscle cars or hatchbacks
To be honest.. daihatsu is my favorite car company. Really reliable, cool and thought out innovation. Love it
Why is this video not adjusted for inflation?!
For real, adjusting should have been done
Because it would pf gotten stupid if they went off market value or market adjusted prices.
It was the price they sold for, simple as that.
Get over it.
The f60 for 2.5mil would of been like 4.5mil.
Even the gmc truck would pg been in the 90's all day.
Can barely be compared without being adjusted for inflation. but still great video!.
10:27 for the gold plated Delorean DMC 12, priceValue of $85,000 from 1980 to 2022
$85,000 in 1980 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $305,624.51 today, an increase of $220,624.51 over 42 years. The dollar had an average inflation rate of 3.09% per year between 1980 and today, producing a cumulative price increase of 259.56%.
That's a lot of money for a golden crapbox.
I was going to say the same thing, even the Prowler at $43k in 2000 would be $73k today.
Respect for the fact you great people at Donut media still included Lancia. Aaaand, understanding and knowing that FIAT and Abarth are two different companies. Donut, your amazing! And also, "any FIAT can be an Abarth, but no Abarth is a FIAT".
I paid 26k€ for my 4x4 Duster -19 when it was brand new and had some extra things. Best price-quality ratio there is in any 4x4.

The Veritas is a re-badged Holden Statesman AKA Chevrolet Caprice PPV.
Very Nice to see James mention Romania and trying to speak some words. I reccomend doing a video of Dacia 1310/1410 SPORT version of it because there are a lot of mindblowing and interesting facts about it,compared to any sport version of any production cars ever concepted and built.
Never knew there was so many US only Car Companies
Need another hi/low, money pit, B2B. Im really looking forward to the bike series since its something ive been wanting to get into recently. Both getting one, fixing it up and such. Keep it up
If we're doing companies that still exist but cars that kinda don't, the Chrysler 300 SRT8 MSRP was $58, 075 and was discontinued in 2014. That's 25 bux higher than that minivan and way cooler. Possibly faster. Seats don't fold into the floor, so it's probably a wash
happy to see Tata and Mahindra show up 👍
I wished it was more common to adjust older prices for inflation. That Yugo Cabrio is closer to 21,000
I figured we would do this by inflation. Crazy that a cx9 is more than any RX7 ever was even with inflation
Great videos, info & sense of humor. Greetings from Colombia, South America.
2:40 Romanian money is called Lei, in translation it would be called Lions. 1 dollar=5 Lei
PS: The pronunciation of Dacia is ok.
I love how four spots on this list were taken up by Holdens with various badges 🇦🇺
The G8 GXP, The Vauxhall Alphabet Soup, and the Holden Alphabet Soup. What was the 4th? It also makes me sad how expensive the Holden was vs the Vauxhall which were the same car it's because of the Australian dollar being weird.
@@craigwinter3792 the Daewoo Veritas was a Caprice
I'd love to see a second hand version of this, same brands, but most expensive pre-owned sales!
Okay! Canadian, American, not to be a "Nationalist" , but that was the funniest vid you guys have done!! Cheers from the Pacific West Coast of Canada.
I was also waiting for the Daihatsu price lol, donut knows us so well
@@kristyanmirasol342 That's a true point.
14:31 Update: self driving had a price increase to $15,000
Love how you included every notable GM brand except for Oldsmobile
I had a hand me down manual geo spectrum for my first car....loved that little thing. The clutch broke and my parents as well as the mechanic were like, it is not worth it to fix it! Come on, a clutch was worth more than the car? I wish I would have fixed it. I would still have that thing....pop a turbo in it haha
I still think Donut is the only channel I'm ok with watching the ads on 😂
17:09 - the TVR Cerbera Speed 12 never actually went into production, although they had taken deposits so I suppose it was "technically" on sale.
Oh, and also to note, the exchange rate in 2003 would mean the USD price would be closer to $410,000 (£245,000, and around 0.6 GBP for 1 USD at the time), not including import charges etc...
I believe you can buy a Speed 12 built by former employees of TVR for about £1m
As the goth kid from high school, whom also took a strength and conditioning class, that ad spot was absolute gold. 100% approved.
Ah yes, the pinnacle of luxury and performance: the Chrysler Pacifica xDD

Donut’s most informative, well researched content isn’t on RUclips anymore, it’s the Past Gas podcast. It’s the only thing they make that I enjoy and listen to the day it comes out. Because views matter, and they’re going after what gets views. Can’t blame them at all.

How about the slowest cars made? For real. Would be interesting and I'm sure James would have some amazing comments. Love this channel!
The Saturn outlook is literally a GMC Acadia body, Mazda headlights, and a Saturn grille 😂
Its estimated that the manufacturers cut lies somewhere between 10-20% depending on the car and also the brand - Some brands just charge more just because they can.

the Smart is a Smart TUNED by Brabus
@@hellcat69420 Don't Brabus have their own VINs? Then it's not Smart..
@@alexm566 no, Brabus is just a tuning company, no tuning company has own VIN numbers
@@hellcat69420 False. Brabus like Ruf and Alpina have their own VIN numbers at least for some of their vehicle models. Look it up.
@@alexm566 Well, let me say it this way then, Brabus will probably have own VINs on Mercedes cars, since it is a Tuning company that usually tunes Mercedes cars, So the Smart probably will NOT have their VIN number. I drove a Dacia duster 2000 km in Iceland a couple months ago. Didn’t have ac (though apparently not really necessary in Iceland), and no cruise control (has a speed limiter instead). Definitely not a car that I would recommend day to day, but super popular around the country.
i mean most people that have dusters have AC and Cruise Control, like every other car
Are you sure it didn't have cruise control? Usually it's in the same button as the limiter, just a different position
They made a lot of options for it. In earlier versions from 2010 for the lowest price possible (8k euro if I remember correctly) you get a SUV but w/o the comfort of AC and cruise control (just limiter). The newer models (2014 and beyond) they got a lot of standard stuff on it
Bloke drives rental spec Dacia that is cheaper than any new car you can buy in the States but writes off entire brand.
well for 2022 models onwards you can pretty much get anything on them, including multiple airbags, electronic hand brake, auto safety brake system, multimedia with android/iPhone phone connectivity via Bluetooth, back camera, sensors, shift indicators, cruise control, speed limiter, SOS button (since 2014), hill climb assist, and so many others...
it is true that the base models come almost bear bones, but you have other levels and optionals. so you can chose what you need
