Max of 72, Lowest you can "set it" and lowest it will stay active is totally different as well. It will stay active at a full stop and monitor in front of it as the traffic starts to move. As he said its a little buggy at the super low speeds from a dead stop. But for example if its a traffic jam it seems much smoother while vehicles are just coasting or slowing/speeding up as openings or traffic speed shifts.
Lol, quite the opposite just happened. They just updated the UI and made it easier to manually adjust wiper speed. Seems like a coincidence 🤔 otherwise that would be a pretty unreal turnaround time.

@@Tw1stTech A horsepower is more to do with the kinds of loads that you can put on a horse continuously. If you're a tractor manufacturer selling a tractor to a farmer who's only used horses and oxen, a value of "745.70 joules per second" isn't really going to be meaningful. The anti consumer practices are heavily offset by the fact that they dont run you through a regular dealership, I also think linus doesn't full understand what hes talking about when he mentioned these practices.
They're not that great cars, they're fast (as you can expect form a muscle car) but when it comes to car like qualities like, well, quality, ease and safety of use etc. they're very poor. They spent a lot of money on a big and expensive trivetrain, the rest is a one massive cost cutting.
Not selling parts and not letting you fix the car, closing the software, that is as anti anti-consumer as you can get with a car. If you can afford to discard a car every 2 years like a phone that's fine, but its a tad more than an iPhone.

I work for an automotive company and I can tell you for a fact that Electric vehicles are not the future, the majority of electric vehicles (probably Tesla exempt) aren't even built for a profit, they're built to offset the charges set by their local government for not bringing down their fleet CO2 down, but they don't include manufacturing CO2 numbers. There's a nice video online that explains how the complete total CO2 production of building and running an electric vehicle over a certain amount of time is much worse than an internal combustion engine.

@Nicolas sure, but we aren't there yet. And batteries have some advantages over hydrogen, specifically the hope of being much less dangerous over time, or in use with larger vehicles that will live in the city where the amount of hydrogen needed is too dangerous. You will still need batteries, why not get a head start when you are already having a, albeit marginally, positive impact. I say this as a guy who owns a Mustang and will own one more gas car before switching to electric in about a decade.
@@Bawrabawla Hydrogen fuel has been around since a few decades, it was used in the space shuttle to generate electricity and as far as i remember it i read article about them in production cars in the mid 2000. Hydrogen make more sense for truck with trailer and bus to get a longer range with fast fill up, but for city car battery seems to be a better choice with the regen. GA would be a good application to replace AVGAS that contain lead and with it's low weight compared to battery, train too but these can be wired and fast like the TGV in france. Currently the main downside with hydrogen is the efficiency from electrolyse(where electricity can come from coal or gas), by using methane not a good choice either... fuel cell are made from rare metal it,s pricey and there life is about 5-10 years depending of the usage, the convertion back to electricity is not that efficient so it's add up. In cold climate the water can freeze in the cell and make it inop... converting a gas engine into hydrogen are possible bolt modification need to be made and it might not create greenhouse gase like co, co2 but it create lot of nox so not good The best battery would be supercap but they dont have the the energy to last curently but they are good for regen then fill a battery or reuse right away. On the tesla subject, i dont like their attitude everything has to go though them, always connected and such, part are barely available( not tire and brake obviously). I own a magnum(daily) and a charger(roadtrip), I'm considering selling the magnum since i work closer from home and doing like 8km a day is not great on it and cause more trouble. 2nd hand electric are still pricey and make it hard to justify for that short trip, the choice is still limited... I would like a sedan or wagon, not an SUV. The bolt is not bad, wich to try it one day but it seems short...
Thank you for the honesty of the review. I owned a model X for two years and felt very mistreated by the company whenever i had a problem. The absence of service and respect finally pushed me to go back to traditional car makers.
They really need to focus on that. They claim they are... maybe the quality of service is regional. We've had an X for around two years as well. We've been pretty happy with the service... although the sales support when we were getting it was really horrendous at the time. Elon likes to brag about no marketing, claiming marketing is lying to customers... but then his company has all kinds of other issues that are arguably worse than that. It needs to improve. ... that said, we're not going back.
The touch screen controlled wipers is indeed very distracting. If anything needs a physical control, it's that. The 'auto' wiper option just isn't good enough. EDIT: using voice commands is much less distracting! Great suggestion.
Holy shit its such a bad idea. Just finished 2 hour drive in snowy, foggy and dark weather and if I had had to switch wipers through a screen instead of constantly switching them without taking my eyes off the road i would have just not been able to stay on the road. Sad that Tesla went for the apple route.
Touchscreen anything that is freq used is a fucking bad ideea, my focus should be on the road not on the screen navigating to find the stupid climate controls. In this case, the wiper controls should be ilegal to be controlled via a screen it is just too important not to be easily accesible.
And if it’s products and culture. What i dislike most about Tesla is the *post purchase experience* (and I guess it’s 50% dude-bro wannabe ‘entrepreneur’ culture). Trying to get anything fixed under warranty is like trying to argue with your cat about why he should let you eat the can of fish. And yes, these cars have horrible quality. Whether it’s fit and finish issue, electrical issues or mechanical issues. Needing to fix your car 3 times a year and each time taking 2 month to do so (parts take forever to come in too) really kills the ownership experience and takes away everything that’s cool about. Nothing is cool if you can’t use it. The price of buying a Tesla tells me i should get at least BBA (Benz, BMW, Audi) level of post purchase consumer experience if not Porsche level (which btw, absolutely DESTORYS Tesla in real life ownership experience) But instead, i get an unorganized, shady, untrustworthy post purchase experience filled with constant doubt and worrying. Just can’t deal with the literal BS that comes with owning these cars anymore. I like Tesla’s, and cars in general. And I’m not in the party that hates on electric cars despite also loving engined cars. But man...the amount of time wasting stress associated with owning a Tesla in its current form just isn’t worth it anymore.
Totally agree, though in my opinion he focused a bit much on the negative and the negatives of Tesla rather than the car itself. He didn’t do that with Chevy in his volt video. Not saying it shouldn’t be mentioned it was not proportional to his final verdict of it being a decent/good car. Also didn’t mention much about supercharging. I am aware I am bias though so it could just be me.

The audio sound you are complaining about is because a combustion engine rumbling car gives white-noise affect to drowned out the reverb affect of your voice that seems to bounce off everything with a very quiet car, and the white-noise also pacifies the motion sickness your wife may get due to the fact of swaying back and forth in it because that's all she can since because nothing else is making noise to keep her from only realizing of her swaying, like a distraction that keeps your mind off the obvious annoyance. My neighbour has a Model 3, and i got to drive it the other day. It's the performance one, so Four wheel drive and does 0-100 (0-60) in 3,3 seconds. I've got a 2012 Mercedes E220, it is a chip tuned diesel that is estimated to have between 210-220hp, and at least 500 newtonmeters of tourque. So my car pulls, even tho it's just a 2.2 Liter diesel engine pushing an almost 2000 kilo car. Then i got into the Tesla Model 3, then floored it, and i was in love. I don't think i've been that excited and afraid at the same time before. The power is so instant, and it just goes. It made me do some research and i realized that the Model 3 is "dirt cheap". I can get a 2020 model for somewhere between 50-60000 dollars in my country. That is basically brand new car, fully specced with technology, comfort and power. Compared to my 9 year old dinosaur, that i paid 30000 dollars for one and a half year ago. I did the math: If i were to sell my current car, get a new bigger loan i'd actually save 100-150 dollars every month. The loan would cost me about $100 more each month, insurance about $20 more, but the big money saver is maintenance and fuel. But of course one of the concerns is the "poor build quality", but it's definetly something to consider in my opinion

@@Bawrabawla Yeaj but Hydrogen cars have a lower carbon footprint from their beginning
@Nicolas It depends, others source of energy can be use like hydroelectricity with a very low impact on envrionment in its lifecycle...
In cold climate the water can freeze in the cell and make it inop... converting a gas engine into hydrogen are possible bolt modification need to be made and it might not create greenhouse gase like co, co2 but it create lot of nox so not good
The best battery would be supercap but they dont have the the energy to last curently but they are good for regen then fill a battery or reuse right away.
@@kiyoshim9593 Don't forget that Hydrogen cars actually produce cleaner air as they drive along aswell. Battery cars don't do that at all.

As an admitted fanboy of Tesla’s products, I gladly welcome the valid critiques of Tesla as a company.
The price of buying a Tesla tells me i should get at least BBA (Benz, BMW, Audi) level of post purchase consumer experience if not Porsche level (which btw, absolutely DESTORYS Tesla in real life ownership experience)
But instead, i get an unorganized, shady, untrustworthy post purchase experience filled with constant doubt and worrying.

He only said “oh yeah these parts are soldered to the motherboard you can’t upgrade them by yourself”, etc. Which isn’t necessarily the wrong approach, because the laptops he was comparing them to also had most of their components soldered to the motherboard.

@@brokengames9020 then why are you subscribed to their channel?
The audio sound you are complaining about is because a combustion engine rumbling car gives white-noise affect to drowned out the reverb affect of your voice that seems to bounce off everything with a very quiet car, and the white-noise also pacifies the motion sickness your wife may get due to the fact of swaying back and forth in it because that's all she can since because nothing else is making noise to keep her from only realizing of her swaying, like a distraction that keeps your mind off the obvious annoyance. Once again you keep producing the best videos and that's why I subscribe and always enjoy Linus.
Really love the Top Gear reference. "It's the fastest car in the world, because it's a rental." Always strange to see two pretty different worlds collide.

the sheer honesty in this video is exactly the kind of input i wanted to hear when learning more about teslas everyone else just says electric car go brrrrr it cool im smooth brain instead of pointing out valid strengths and weaknesses like you did, youre a tech channel why are you so good at car reviews.
I've seen a lot of the tesla reviews out there yet there's so many new insights here. LTT 👌
I'm very glad, that you doubled down on the "You must use the screen for everything" issue
I've asked other Tesla channels to do critical videos and many won't. Instead they'll give you a top 10 minor things I kinda don't like but do like kinda videos.

Good review Linus!!! I’m glad you pointed out the not so great things. I agree that the wipers should be easy to turn on in the case of a sudden downpour. That has to be addressed quickly. Thanks and I’m looking forward to more car reviews.
Just to let you know, since this is an old video, most of what's mentioned has been fixed and changed, although the wipers are still controlled via the touch screen, though touch commands do a great job to make up for it.
So your telling me, as a kid, Linus did Tae Kwon Doe, horseback riding, and went to a magnet school, and grew up to be Linus Drop Tips. What a glow up lol
