Screen reachability - OneHand+ app in Samsung makes it THE only phone to care less about phone size. It is sad people from video and those who watch it do not know about it. Also sad, that Pixel PRO was in MAX, but not in regular size to pick (none of those guys got MAX iPhones). Vivo X100/200 with best tech.cameras would be interesting option for script, and would educate viewers a bit. P.S. a pity that S25 Ultra was not ready for the video. if you're a regular ltt viewer, you should know by now that they do this to get it in the algorithm. it's basically required for the video to get pushed out
@dcresistance I remember that they put some "part 1" here and there. Also I don't know about the algorithm, it wants user satisfaction, and if someone expects a full video, but only gets the first part, they might leave. The question is if putting "part one", and potentially getting more views outweigh the negative effect of the unsatisfied viewers or not.
@kiryuukazuma04 I feel like when it comes to Phone size, the iPhone 5 is the sweet spot of small phones. I'm actually quite dejected by how every manufacture has pretty much dropped small phones as a concept in recent times.

Yeah even customer service don't know that much about the phone they represent. The community should be paid in some way because they're more helpful than the actual employees.
The average seller would've just handed you a high end samsung or whichever iPhone just came out. Which is why every grandma is either rocking an A55 or a three yearold iphone when the 1500USD new phone turns out too expensive.
I never liked that when Elijah first started appearing in LTT videos they went with the "dumb" character thing. I'm glad he's been able to show he's actually smart and knowledgeable.
@merlinwarage "Usually" yeah, it's been known to be used for mix gender since atleast the 90s. So while it's more common between two males, it's not exclusive.
ok, so a lot of mentions of airdrop in this video, and only mentioning that oneplus has an app that lets people airdrop to iphones, but zero mention of quick share, thats literally just airdrop for android, and its literally on every up to date android phone. and it works with windows
Was wondering this as well, Quick Share andAirDrop from what i have currently seen seems to have feature parity with the difference being its not so apparent at first
I thought this was clearly answered with the Oppo, Apple users just expect a feature to work on all Android phones and they were disappointed to hear some users need to get an app. All their friends must use iOS so it blew their minds. I'd be more surprised if people even notice they don't have function any more.
The "minimum wage employee" you chose was a fantastic guide for the 3 employees. He was knowledgeable, helpful, asked all the right questions, made the experiment more interesting, I like him!
@1wor1d knowledgeable? All 3 asked about Airdrop as being the main feature that they will miss, and bro never mentioned QuickShare and Nearby Share for any of them, just that Oppo "app". It was the opposite. He just stared at them and said like "fair point".
Elijah did a great job, but the fact that he had to do a big presentation on different brands and models of androids, is definitely part of why iphone people are iphone people. You decide the screen size you want and you're basically done.
If I were to predict what's going to happen, Tynan will end up switching over to Android, Andy will switch back to iOS almost instantly, and Lisa would go the entire time and eventually switch back at the end due to familiarity.
I agree! The only way I see Lisa deviating and sticking with Android is if there are certain apps or features that seem to just work better for her in a given context (like the camera, or other things that she decides to try during the run). But if I was a betting man I'd say you're probably right, familiarity will win out.
Out of all the options, the Google Pixel 9 pro, the non XL, isn't there when 2 out of 3 of the guests mentioned wanting a not too big phone. That's a hard miss in my opinion
Completely agree. I can empathize too, I really like pixels but I skipped like 3 generations of pixel and didn't upgrade until the 9 pro non-xl came out.
@WunjoxFlo absolutely. When I switched from iPhone I wanted a phone that was easy for me to one hand, and very few phones offered that. I also wanted a bigger screen for watching content though so I felt stuck until the original Pixel Fold came out. I switched, loved it, and won't go back
I appreciated that all three of them, in some way, picked their phone based on it not "being an iphone" and that they wanted to experience the unique things that android has to offer, instead of just picking something that felt the most familiar. Should be interesting to see the results.
Not surprised the woman chose the z flip. A lot of women like the novelty of the cute tiny colorful phone. When my bro and sil upgraded their phones he went for the large man-phone in the z fold and my sil chose the z flip. Not surprised by the other two az well. The Asian guy was all about photography so he chose ones like the Sony and the other guy wanted a more android experience so he chose the pixel fold which is a form factor apple does not have at all.
Lisa chose the zflip because it was novelty, and different... had nothing to do with android or anything of the sort. Andy chose the fold simply because he wanted to try it, again, fold, not android, despite apple not offering a fold (again, z fold?!) Tynan chose the fold because it would be useful to him, not so much because of android... None of them actually chose something android specific to test, they chose gimmicks like fold/flip or a shutter button. Which is very 'iphon-y'
@XeroCreator Iphones doesn't have such gimmicks, so that things isn't an "iphon-y" behavior. Of course they would choose a "different" phone. That's the whole point of the video. They can't have such things with Apple. And they were not presented to any Android features, so it was impossible for them to choose them because Android itself... C'mon don't be dense. An example? They said that will miss airdrop, but this video has 0 mention on QuickShare or Nearby sharing, the "Android airdrop".
@XeroCreator what would be something “Android-specific” that someone would choose a phone for? And why is Android-specific hardware (that there’s no iPhone equivalent for) _not_ Android-specific?
Ditto, here for this. It's been closer to 60 days. I need more Apple criticism. I need to inject it into my veins. After 13 years of android I went to iPhone for a month and I had an existential crisis with how user unfriendly it was.
That’s my thought. The flip though, as a woman, that’s amazing. My pockets cannot fit these big ass phones they keep making 😅 And I don’t need to walk my dog with a handbag, sometimes it’s just nice to carry things in pockets 🙃
That's exactly why I would want the Galaxy Fold (not flip) or the ultra. They're big and I don't feel it's too big. The Fold especially is almost a small tablet.
I don't know - my fold made me unable to ever go to a non foldable again. It is big enough to be a small tablet usable enough for netflix during travel or even 80% of my job without any additional devices.
07:58 One of the amazing things about Samsung Ultra is that in cold weather I can put on gloves, pick up a stylus and continue to use the phone without freezing my hands.
Interesting point, but I suppose you could do similar with any phone with those universal stylus that have a rubber tip that imitates a finger. Heck even some gloves have a capacitive tip. But in fairness, the ultra already comes with a stylus, so no separate purchase needed
@akubel33t It's not just that it's a separate purchase, a cheap stylus costs no more than 3$, but it's the fact that it's integrated into the device and it's always there with you.
kinda strange how you choose to not include the regular pixel 9 pro when half the people mentioned size as a factor, yet you included both the base galaxy and large ultra version
my guess would be that were the phones they had sitting around. for my taste there were many phones brands missing. like vivo/iqoo, xiaomi, honor, realme, HMD or just for memes Sharp & Huawei.
Yeah I agree, if thats something their use too & something they've invested money into & expect out of their phone. It's not a fair switch to take that away from them when its available on the android side. They should have done a full ecosystem swap to the extend people are already using additional products to see what their view of "android" is without tainting it by the lack of integration with their iPhone gadgets.
@Zaptosis Well, this also does replicate the experience of switching to android for a normal person, you're not gonna instantly replace all of your other devices
@Username-jt4yqexactly. Honestly, I doubt most people would even bother consider switching. Nowadays people just buy a new phone when the old one is lost or obsolete, or maybe they are given a work phone. Smaller number of people will update to ensure they have all the available OS features. And then, they just stick with whatever ecosystem they have. That ecosystem and accessories is a barrier that a more considered & realistic video would have covered Like: what about CarPlay, lifestyle apps, handoff to a MacBook, Apple TV, iPad, smartwatch integration
@timjones7336 Well, Carplay not being on android isn't really an issue because most vechicles that support carplay also support android auto, but the other issues are very real
The ecosystem is the greatest point for Apple. If the iPhone was a standalone device it would be one of many and probably not my choice. But there is no equivalent of that ecosystem on the Android side. When I had a Sony Xperia the interfacing with my Windows machine was horrible. Now I have iPhone and Mac, the interplay is seamless.
@mysticseven6578 I feel like this time the joke was more of a jab at retail stores and such, since they are notorious for paying their employees minimum wage (and sometimes even less). I could be wrong tho. But the fact that they made the joke with Elijah was still diabolical lmao.
While I appreciate the broad selection of android phones, I can't believe they aren't going to be given accessories as well. Like for Samsung, Galaxy buds pro 2s and a galaxy watch, or for pixel with their respective buds and watch. One of the most common complaints was "Oh it won't work with all my Apple stuff", so why not give them some non-Apple stuff to really experience the other side?
Because this video was meant to replicate the experience of the average person switching to Android. The average person switcihng to Android isn't going to buy a new watch, new earbuds, etc
It's a good point, but for the buds, I'm just still using my AirPods Pro v2 after switching back to Android and they work fine. You lose a little bit of quality of life that only works with iOS but I don't mind and they still offer best in class noise cancellation. The watch though is a good point as Apple watch just straight up does not work with Android. I switched to a Garmin myself and loving not having to charge every night.
@jsonr I see your point, not everyone does, but if their main concern is missing out on the ecosystem, doesn't it introduce a bias against android if they can't experience its Apple ecosystem counterpart? If they're voicing that the cohesion and ease of use with Apple's is a critical element of why they use the brand, they deserve the same kind of experience with the Android equivalent imo.
@finraziel agreed, I actually used the 1st gen pros for a while with my 24 Ultra, but gave em to my wife after getting the buds pro 2s. The noise canceling and pass-through on the buds are nowhere near as good as the airpods, but the cohesiveness has prevented me from buying the airpod pros 2nd gen, at least so far lol
I think this type of content is very smart - Instead of focusing just on the tech, the focus is on the people using the technology, which makes the story, subject and unpredictability much more interesting, therefore the video too. Good Job guys, more content like this!
Issue I have from the start of the video, where they pick the phones, is that the pixel 9 pro is absent. It's literally identical to the XL, just smaller. Give people a choice in size too, since that is a valid concern people have.
@TroublesomeOwlThey can afford $800 for the test and showing the phone with the rest of the 9 lineup. They don't even mention it or specs leaving iphone users unaware it even exists.
@selicostech They have to draw a line somewhere or it would end up being dozens of phones to sort through. "What we have in inventory" is a very sensible place to stop. This isn't an android or a pixel lineup phone review, you don't need to know the specs (if they gave a full rundown of all the specs of every phone in this video, it would be 3 hours long) , and if an iphone user can't say "oh i'm interested in checking out android" now can't google a spec sheet or look up sizes of available phones, well, that's their problem. Sounds to me like you want validation for your own purchase or something like that more than anything else. I think it was a really good mix of phones with different functionality, feel and features.
15:00 Actually, it won't hurt the battery! It will bypass the power straight to the CPU and the battery will remain the same percentage as it was. This feature has also been added to samsung a couple of years ago too!
@joseluizamaral1264 Samsung has also solved this! With adaptive charging, when your phone reaches 100%, it will stop charging until it falls below 95%.
@joseluizamaral1264 As long as it isn't further charged. The problem is by plugging your phone in and using it at the same time the battery will be discharged and charged at the same time. Current would flow through the battery constantly, that hurts battery life, especially at high charges like 100%, because, the fuller the battery, the higher the resistance, the more current will be pushed through to charge it. By bypassing the battery it would be fully charged and stay there, no current in, no current out, this prolongs battery life. Of course battery's do slowly discharge by them self, so it wouldn't stay at a 100% forever.
@Fataha22 With the latest versions of OneUI (samsung's android skin) they give you 3 "levels" of battery protection. 1. Once charged to 100% it will only start charging again after it depleted to below 95%. 2. Only charges to 80%. 3. "Adaptive" will use option 2 while you are inactive (sleeping), and option 1 while you are active, depending on your usage patterns. This is a really cool feature and I wish they rolled it out to older samsung devices as well. I'm still using my trusty old S8 and I've replaced the battery twice now. Nothing wrong with the phone and it still does everything I need it to do (although it's a bit sluggish at times), but I need to replace the battery every 3-4 years just to be able to do my job without charging it constantly. Luckily it has wireless charging, as I suspect that the charging port would've been ruined by now if I had to rely on that. But I heard from a friend that a local cellphone repair shop replaced his broken charging port for really cheap and it only took them a few minutes, so I guess that is also not really a problem. It feels weird that the $150 samsung tablet I bought recently has just about the same specs as the $800 flagship phone of 8 years ago.
Makes sense though. There’s a lot of choice (way more than shown). Compared to Apple where there’s just a few. Selecting a phone is a very vital part of using Android
not only the battery they got everything wrong. wrong screen resolution, no wireless charging, cameras is wrong everything wrong except the name of the phone
15:01 i wish elijah would mention that the rog or heck most gaming phone nowadays have a "passthrough" feature where if you plug in the phone while gaming, the charger will only power the phone, and wont charge the battery. the cool thing is you can prove it yourself by using one of those usb charging cables that have a display on it to show how many watts are being delivered. if you set the phone on passthrough mode while gaming, it will only show like 5 - 9 watts depending on how intense the game is.
i wonder if iphones have that. i always see teens with their iphones plugged in, and i swear apple purposely profits off of making their batteries crap out quicker if you dont properly charge them. my old lg stylo 2 plus still holds a damn good charge even after going through the unproper charging method of a teen lol
@andrewtimothy9792 Samsung has that feature, if you plug your phone with 25Watt charger and enable game mode, it stops charhing and slices the heat output basically zero...
You mention that like this is a "great killing feature", but in fact nobody cares if the phone charges or not when it already has a connected wire to it.
The S2X ultra best unknown feature is how you're able to use it during a meeting. If you take notes with your phone, it may look like you're chatting - but if you're handwriting, nobody cares. Like, honestly, huge game changing feature not having to carry a laptop or a tablet with you at all times.
I takes notes using swype, and the hard tip on the stylus allows me to be lighting quick, considering my true penmanship is unreadable, even by myself ,lol
And this might not be an issue for this trial, but only first party Samsung apps use the stylus - or a "hacked feeling" Gboard stylus support. OneNote, Microsoft Office and other apps don't natively support the stylus - which for me is a deal breaker. Yes, I own the Ultra and watch year (after every upgrade) I only use the stylus 4-6 times - it's just not useful enough to use different apps.
Use the voice to text function to transcribe everything and then use AI to make notes. The stylus is not practical or a feature anymore. Especially for anyone switching devices.
Fair, I imagine it's just a matter of which phones they had around from reviewing in the past. It'd be hard to get a review sample just for a video where your phone may not be even given a chance, and for the same reasons it would be a tough thing to rationalize buying for just the video
Edit: Fixed We're aware of the various issues regarding some of the specs and stats shown in this video, and we're working to get them fixed. Thanks for everyone who pointed them out!
I know I am high jacking this comment, but hope to give an idea as a game developer, why can't I use a regular Android phone: Not a single one comes with TrueDepth camera for facial motion capture and (which I use less) Lidar Scanner. Are there actually any Android phones that support such tech features?
@alhusseinfarah4194if you told me in my 20s phone would’ve cost on average $800+… I would’ve been like no fucking way… but if you told me the specs I’d also be like… no fucking way…. 😂😂😂
Well the nothing phone is compared to the best flagship phones which cost over 1000$ but it has similar features You can still get pretty good phones which cost around 200$
And they got more specifications wrong than right. It's a 5000mAh battery, not 6000. It doesn't have a telephoto. It doesn't have 512GB of storage, nor 16GB of RAM. Etcetera, Etcetera. TLDR LTT is incompetent.
After adding Pt. 1 to the title, I just want to say that I definitely prefer having this be a multiple part series instead of just one video with immediate conclusions. Excited for part 2!
That made me cackle lmao. A couple of months ago my friend and I were at the park with our cameras and we wanted to compare how far our zoom lenses could go, and we ended up in a situation extremely similar to the one in the video. It's so spontaneous that it's hard not to laugh when you realize it.
well as you may know it is all relative. Especially considering the current state of phone prices and the specs because high end parts are indeed expensive, even as just from a BOM perspective, so yeah 400 dollars with a good build quality and half decent specs is something that is considered cheap whether you actually think it is or not. Kinda like how a 15-20k brand new car is considered cheap when for many people, dropping that kind of money is far from inexpensive.
I really do think people do not understand prices now post covid inflation. We're going to soon be the boomer grandmas complaining that you can't buy a chocolate bar for a nickle anymore.
@Drkbowers1 I don't think phone prices were affected by Covid at all. I bought an S10+ back in 2019 and it was the same price as my S22+ I bought in 2022, and that included going for the higher capacity storage (256gb) option and the S25+ that launched yesterday is the same price again (the 256gb price). Yes Covid drove prices up in a lot of areas, but phone prices have been pretty static since 2019.
The only ad I will watch if it's a Dbrand sponsor on LTT. It's always a delight to see how they roast Linus. I love their relationship, it's truly like no other
I would love if they started selling in Europe. Their products seem to fit the prices very well, but when I get +19% taxes +shipping it becomes not worth it.
@raulv98yeah I was looking for a phone case for my s25 and a case would be 70 euros and another dealbreaker is that they don’t have a other option to pay than paypal or credit card
I'd appreciate it if you made it clear that it was just part 1 of multiple, I got to about 1/3 of the video when I realized it was just about choosing phones, which in my opinion is a lot less interesting than the actual 30 days of use and conclusion.
I mean it is pretty interesting to see the thought process of picking a phone when you have all the choices, where before they have only ever had what Apple told them they wanted.
11:50 quick share exists, ever android phone supports it, windows supports it, why wasn't it even mentioned? people use it all the time on my university
@AQG_EDWARDSCOOL and they cited the "airdrop" from oppo that only works with a few brands, while quick share works on every android device, not only samsung and google.
6:03 "It has a little bit more megapixel, a little bit other updated settings". Ah yes, the classic I kind of know what I'm talking about but don't know enough to explain it.
When he talked about Final Fantasy 7 and the flip phones, he's talking about Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children, an animated FF7 movie sequel to the game from 2005. His reference in particular is to the fact that they really emphasized the use of flip phones as a cool fashion accessory (many of the scenes are either taking phone calls after intense motorcycle sword fights and generally had intense flip action and camera angles that put the phone flips as focal points). There was also a phone release that collaborated with the movie as promotion (Panasonic FOMA P900iV). The game "Before Crisis," a story prequel to FF7, was specifically for showcasing that flip phone as well.
I hate to come back to this channel several times a week looking for part 2. Won’t swear cuz I love Canada 🇨🇦🇺🇦 But guddam Linus, the effect of disappointing expectations is through the roof. It’s betta be good Pt2
I actually loved this episode. Very well constructed with different people wanting different things from the experience. Also the fact it was real people choosing a phone, rather than being sold on any particular "feature", like Lisa immediately saying the pen was a bit "douchey". Felt very real.

Oppo Find X8 sounds like a Math problem
@Pearloryx yup Oppo find the solution to x 🤣
@LinusTechTips and this is why Linus is king erm I think
@unotoli iPhone has the reachability feature. Does OneHand+ offer sometthing different?
I was hoping the 30 day challenge already happened and we had the results lol
Lmao agree, they got to the top 3 part and I was super surprised to see the video was basically over
Misleading tittle, if it’s a series they should tag it as part 1
LTT usually is more reliable with this. seems like drop in quality
@reilandeubankYeah. I’d have at least liked to see what they actually ended up with at the end.
Same
You might wanna put a "part 1" somewhere. I was expecting the 27min video to have the conclusion also. It is still a great video tho
same
They'll probably add it a few days later, they need some clickbaits for a little while tho

They don't mention that the S24 Ultra can connect a screen and function as a PC
How he instantly mentioned the light could attract kids attention during a photoshoot. You can see he knows his stuff in photography
Family photos!
the pixel phone has this feature
@tuttikazooti that's nice! Didn't know about that.
@tuttikazooti The Pixel fold uses its outer display to show Disney characters or something to grab their attention.
Of course not
Am i the only still waiting on part 2?
There won’t be a part 2.
“Too small of a tablet, too big of a phone” is a dad proverb if I ever heard one.
Iphone users since iphone 4: "Samsung phones are too big of a phone" but when iphone 5 came out a lot bigger, they bought it immediately.
@kiryuukazuma04 I feel like when it comes to Phone size, the iPhone 5 is the sweet spot of small phones. I'm actually quite dejected by how every manufacture has pretty much dropped small phones as a concept in recent times.
iPhone 5 is too small for me but I still have a functional Galaxy S3 and it's really the perfect size for most things.
While simultaneously ranking the fold as their top choice.
@kiryuukazuma04sane people who bought the xl versions of the iphones lol. A frjend of mine always said android phones are too big, and ended up always buying the biggest iphone
That wasn’t an authentic smartphone buying experience. The salesperson knew so much more than the average sales clerk, ✌️😆
I've joked that I'm the Ron Swanson meme walking into Home Depot and an employee asks if I need help... "I know more than you".
@traceyclaver6076 i literally only go into a phone store if i need a sim card because if i ask a question of any kind the person in the store either just googled my question or said they weren't sure.. not to mention. He knew alot about Samsung and google, kinda brushed over the others
I think Elijah did exceptionally well in this role. He's become a fantastic presenter
So true
From being awkward to becoming lovable he's a great guy just needed time to adapt.
I never liked that when Elijah first started appearing in LTT videos they went with the "dumb" character thing. I'm glad he's been able to show he's actually smart and knowledgeable.
Yeah. He seems like a good kid. I'm happy he's finding his role in the group.
He would make a great minimum wage employee at a carrier store 😂
where's the part 2 gang?
6:30 "I WAS LOOKING AT THE FABRICS AND THE RESOLUTION"
It's ok buddy, it's healthy curiosity 😊
@melonmelon2848 😂😂😂
@merlinwarage Zzz
@merlinwarage chill bro
@merlinwarage keyword “usually”

Idk why but quick share never works for me (I'm on android 14)
I feel like this needs a tagline part 1
Not me checking this within 1 hr of it being posted and seeing "Pt.1" already added
@bcdanielschange is real
"30 day" challenge Part 1 came out 52 days ago!
He needs a raise.
Pretty good for a “minimum wage employee” and those side eye looks at the camera 👌
Yup, that guy is a monster seller. And very likeable person. You should get him involved into more projects.
I wonder why people stopped calling him one of Linus's children😂
27 minutes of phone shopping was not what I expected from this video.
Exactly it was just a frustrating ad
Elijah did a great job, but the fact that he had to do a big presentation on different brands and models of androids, is definitely part of why iphone people are iphone people. You decide the screen size you want and you're basically done.
I actually like this longer format 🤷♂️
I enjoyed it. Maybe I should work in phone sales? Jk I got bills to pay
Watch at 2X speed, and it's only 19 minutes!
If I were to predict what's going to happen, Tynan will end up switching over to Android, Andy will switch back to iOS almost instantly, and Lisa would go the entire time and eventually switch back at the end due to familiarity.

@immoloism Sounds to me like this is Smooth Jimmy's LOCK of the week!
I agree! The only way I see Lisa deviating and sticking with Android is if there are certain apps or features that seem to just work better for her in a given context (like the camera, or other things that she decides to try during the run). But if I was a betting man I'd say you're probably right, familiarity will win out.
Think Lisa or Andy ( because he stated he already has his house built around the IOS ecosystem) will probably drop out around the 2 week check in lol.
Out of all the options, the Google Pixel 9 pro, the non XL, isn't there when 2 out of 3 of the guests mentioned wanting a not too big phone. That's a hard miss in my opinion
Completely agree. I can empathize too, I really like pixels but I skipped like 3 generations of pixel and didn't upgrade until the 9 pro non-xl came out.
but 2 guest still had it in the top 3, still quite good
That's why I got the 9 Pro.... Not the 9 Pro XL
I'm so much happier with a smaller phone
@WunjoxFlo absolutely. When I switched from iPhone I wanted a phone that was easy for me to one hand, and very few phones offered that. I also wanted a bigger screen for watching content though so I felt stuck until the original Pixel Fold came out. I switched, loved it, and won't go back
@ClintonAllenAnderson yup, me too. I just can't with phones that wanna be tablets
its already 1 month away linus, drop the part 2
watched part 1 today...where is it?
was just coming here to say the same thing
Still waiting.. come on LTT!
exactly! how long do we have to wait
Hey, what's up with part 2?
I can't imagine how much the Dbrand network teams hates the Dbrand marketing team
We are wayyy beyond 1 month now. Why don't we have part 2 already!!!!!!!!
Andy chose the fold simply because he wanted to try it, again, fold, not android, despite apple not offering a fold (again, z fold?!)
Tynan chose the fold because it would be useful to him, not so much because of android...
@ttechnology_ yup pretty much it should have been shown and noted in the video
@XeroCreator what would be something “Android-specific” that someone would choose a phone for? And why is Android-specific hardware (that there’s no iPhone equivalent for) _not_ Android-specific?
12:10 Android has quick share, works with other android phones without any other apps and windows(if you install an app on windows obviously)
Was about to comment this. Happy someone had pointed it out.
I thought the Windows end was auto nowadays?
i have a galaxy book and an s25 ultra, i use quick share so often, its so useful
@Uufda651 yesn't you specifically have to like say you wanna use it on the windows install, otherwise you'd need to download it to my knowledge.
And NearDrop on Mac lets you use android quick share to MacOS as well :)
6:22 "You can zoom in and see all the details" 😂😂😂😂
That chick with the tongue ring knew exactly what she was doing. She just immediately forgot that she was being filmed LOOOL
instantly came to comments 😂
it's been 30 days I NEED THE RESULTS!!!!!!!!!!!
Ditto, here for this. It's been closer to 60 days. I need more Apple criticism. I need to inject it into my veins. After 13 years of android I went to iPhone for a month and I had an existential crisis with how user unfriendly it was.
6:25 Looking ultra sussy wussy 😂😂😂
That’s what I’m sayin 😅
Well she was the one who took the picture to zoom in on... ;-)
🤣😐
I immediately wondered if that was her bf or something and this was some inside joke until she realized what she was doing lol
You forgot the p version of the sussy wussy and p.
Everyone complaining the phones are too big... Why didn't you offer the Pixel 9 Pro?
yeah, idk why they did that
@warth45 Less Camera
@mrinaldutta1812 nope, it's the exact same as the XL
@mrinaldutta1812 not right. the 9 pro has the same as the pro xl but the form factor from the 9 "standart"
Agreed, they just spooked people by a bigger size for no reason. They knew they used to just iPhone Pros, not Pro Max.
@21:52 “I don’t really need a too small of a tablet, too big of a phone.”
This one just hit home.
That’s my thought. The flip though, as a woman, that’s amazing. My pockets cannot fit these big ass phones they keep making 😅 And I don’t need to walk my dog with a handbag, sometimes it’s just nice to carry things in pockets 🙃
@halane4790 I understand, but think changing tailor may help.
I do need the biggest screen while being a phone. Which is why i went to foldables
where is part 2 linus its already 43 days
07:58 One of the amazing things about Samsung Ultra is that in cold weather I can put on gloves, pick up a stylus and continue to use the phone without freezing my hands.
What are these glove thing you speak of?
/Floridian
@grayrabbit2211 You'll know if you visit us at winter :D /Moscow
Interesting point, but I suppose you could do similar with any phone with those universal stylus that have a rubber tip that imitates a finger. Heck even some gloves have a capacitive tip.
But in fairness, the ultra already comes with a stylus, so no separate purchase needed
@akubel33t sure i could, stylus was not the kill feature to buy this phone
@akubel33t It's not just that it's a separate purchase, a cheap stylus costs no more than 3$, but it's the fact that it's integrated into the device and it's always there with you.
8:31 “The Pen Is Cool”
@GinanjarUtomo lmaoo that made me laugh too
kinda strange how you choose to not include the regular pixel 9 pro when half the people mentioned size as a factor, yet you included both the base galaxy and large ultra version
Yeah right ! To me it is the Iphone of android. It made me switch and I am not going back.
Yeah, strange thing
was thinking the same with S24+
Clearly that's what they had access to? They are making them pick from the same pile and not buying them brand new phones.
my guess would be that were the phones they had sitting around. for my taste there were many phones brands missing. like vivo/iqoo, xiaomi, honor, realme, HMD or just for memes Sharp & Huawei.
Where is part 2 guys?
It's already more than 30 days.
It takes time to edit and compile a video
If the biggest hold up is ecosystem, this isn't a fair comparison. Get them the earpods, the watch, the home assistants.
That ecosystem and accessories is a barrier that a more considered & realistic video would have covered
Like: what about CarPlay, lifestyle apps, handoff to a MacBook, Apple TV, iPad, smartwatch integration
10:30 my man 🤝🤝🤝🤝📞
27:20 dbrand having this URL and have linus say it is pure gold
It's has been 1 month and we are waiting for the video
3:00 "...and have hired a minimum wage employee to read the product cards to our iphone users." ☠
That was diabolical 🤣
That one got me too. I feel like Elijah was particularly competent and knowledgeable this episode, in contrast to that joke.
@mysticseven6578 He's like Bella Baxter in Poor Things his baby brain has finally matured.
sent me
@mysticseven6578 I feel like this time the joke was more of a jab at retail stores and such, since they are notorious for paying their employees minimum wage (and sometimes even less).
That wouldn't be very realistic though, considering if people decided to switch, they aren't gonna buy the entire ecosystem at once
@PixelosophyChannel I agree
It's March 19th and I'm still waiting for a follow up 👀
Issue I have from the start of the video, where they pick the phones, is that the pixel 9 pro is absent. It's literally identical to the XL, just smaller. Give people a choice in size too, since that is a valid concern people have.
100%. Tons of people prefer smaller phones.
They literally may not have had one in inventory. might be as simple as that
They also left out the Samsung Plus and Fold!
18:37 that's a badass looking photo
15:00
Actually, it won't hurt the battery!
It won't be stuck to 100, battery charging will stop and the power goes directly to phone.@joseluizamaral1264
@joseluizamaral1264usually they put it on 80% not 100%
@joseluizamaral1264 As long as it isn't further charged.
So whens part #2?!
Where the hell is pt. 2? I need some confirmation before I get rid of my iPhone lol
There not being part 2 is your confirmation not to get rid of your iPhone :)
@valdezapg thats literally the last reason they wouldnt upload this video
You can watch on channel
@aleksandersiz8981 yep we know
Or think for yourself?
Why would you throw away a working phone? I am samsung user btw
Samsung has had airdrop for a while. It's called quick share.
6:19 lmfaooo
Where is the part 2? It's been 37 days since the video got published.
Probably got misplaced on the nightstand, right next to where you left your patience in the morning
yes, im asking the same...
ruclips.net/video/s4pYfSqAOtE/video.html
I don’t know what I was expecting but I wasn’t expecting most of the video to be phone shopping.
Makes sense though. There’s a lot of choice (way more than shown). Compared to Apple where there’s just a few. Selecting a phone is a very vital part of using Android
22:48 'Lets have a wee look at it '
Her irish accent rubbed off him
Where’s part 2?
17:52 “so you’re a genius bar” LMAO
16:42 The Nothing Phone 2a actually has a 5000 mAh batttery, not 6000 like is said in the video
This is going right into the next gamers nexus video
@dporiua lol, I can imagine :D
not only the battery they got everything wrong. wrong screen resolution, no wireless charging, cameras is wrong everything wrong except the name of the phone
Also the 2a ISNT their flagship phone as that is the Nothing Phone 2 and its better than the 2a.
@virtuaconker85 I don't think he ever said it was Nothing's flagship? He made it very clear it was a $400 phone.
Where is pt 2 did u forget about this video? I was expecting more on this series moving from mac to windows , xbox to ps4 all the alternatives.
So where is the part 2
This video should be called “3 people look at a few androids.”
6:15 oopsie in edit.
Did you just say MASSIVE at 25:05
M- massive?
You know what else is massive?
Lowwww Taperfadeee
It’s not even funny 😭😭
WHERE THE HELL IS PART 2?????!!!!!!!!!! REALLY WHERE THE HELL IS PARTS 2! PART 2! PART 2! PART 2!
But every android phone does have airdrop... It's called quick share
Exactly
It's been a month where's part 2? 🤣
The 30 days is up where is the new video or update 😅
maturity is realizing its just a phone and doesnt matter what the hell you use
where is the part 2?????????
oh shit this is a SERIES. Can't wait for the future episodes.
Yea bro its pretty good because nowdays snapdragon 8 elite can emulate gta v on the mobile so our mobiles are now basically mini consoles
i wonder if iphones have that. i always see teens with their iphones plugged in, and i swear apple purposely profits off of making their batteries crap out quicker if you dont properly charge them. my old lg stylo 2 plus still holds a damn good charge even after going through the unproper charging method of a teen lol
@gamesus and who is this "nobody"?
Sooo we extending the test results? Still waiting for part 2.
The S2X ultra best unknown feature is how you're able to use it during a meeting. If you take notes with your phone, it may look like you're chatting - but if you're handwriting, nobody cares. Like, honestly, huge game changing feature not having to carry a laptop or a tablet with you at all times.
YES. I take notes on my S24 Ultra all the time.
Yes it does not look like you're distracted and faking listening. With handwriting it seems natural
I wish they included they included the Pixel 9 Pro normal phone. The size of the phone fits much better in the hand than the XL.
Fair, I imagine it's just a matter of which phones they had around from reviewing in the past. It'd be hard to get a review sample just for a video where your phone may not be even given a chance, and for the same reasons it would be a tough thing to rationalize buying for just the video
I think it was picked to get a good sampling of things. Otherwise they'd never pick a phone
They also left out the Samsung Pro and Fold!
Yeah. For an iPhone user. Pixel 9 pro might be ideal
Still waiting for the Pt. 2...
Edit: Fixed
We're aware of the various issues regarding some of the specs and stats shown in this video, and we're working to get them fixed. Thanks for everyone who pointed them out!
uwu
👍
classic androiders to nit pick specs on phones.
Did you guys forget that dbrand doesn't make any skins or cases for the Xperia?
I know I am high jacking this comment, but hope to give an idea as a game developer, why can't I use a regular Android phone: Not a single one comes with TrueDepth camera for facial motion capture and (which I use less) Lidar Scanner. Are there actually any Android phones that support such tech features?
I know the climate but $400 being "dirt cheap" is still a wild thing for me to hear...the norm has gone too far.
IF you told me in middle school that phones will cost near 2k, I'd say you're on sth.
@alhusseinfarah4194if you told me in my 20s phone would’ve cost on average $800+… I would’ve been like no fucking way… but if you told me the specs I’d also be like… no fucking way…. 😂😂😂
Well the nothing phone is compared to the best flagship phones which cost over 1000$ but it has similar features
You can still get pretty good phones which cost around 200$
You can still get a 'dumb' phone for 30 bucks if you want. Smartphones are just a different industry all together.
And they got more specifications wrong than right. It's a 5000mAh battery, not 6000. It doesn't have a telephoto. It doesn't have 512GB of storage, nor 16GB of RAM. Etcetera, Etcetera.
TLDR LTT is incompetent.
anyone else waiting for part 2? been over a month
Give us the conclusion fast please ❤ 1 month is up
Uh, excuse me? There's no part 2?
After adding Pt. 1 to the title, I just want to say that I definitely prefer having this be a multiple part series instead of just one video with immediate conclusions. Excited for part 2!
6:21 That was brilliant
😆
That made me cackle lmao. A couple of months ago my friend and I were at the park with our cameras and we wanted to compare how far our zoom lenses could go, and we ended up in a situation extremely similar to the one in the video. It's so spontaneous that it's hard not to laugh when you realize it.
"you can zoom allllll the way in, see all the....... details......" The timing and delivery was amazing.
Where is the 2nd part
It's been more than one month
the fact that $400 and "dirt cheap" can be said together about a phone is still nuts
well as you may know it is all relative.
We're going to soon be the boomer grandmas complaining that you can't buy a chocolate bar for a nickle anymore.
its a lot cheaper here in europe. its 300 € for 256gb or 30€ less for only 128gb
LTT's staff get paid too well 😂
@Drkbowers1 I don't think phone prices were affected by Covid at all.
18:48 cameraman looks like a league of legends champion picture
WHERE IS PART 2?
The only ad I will watch if it's a Dbrand sponsor on LTT. It's always a delight to see how they roast Linus. I love their relationship, it's truly like no other
I would love if they started selling in Europe. Their products seem to fit the prices very well, but when I get +19% taxes +shipping it becomes not worth it.
@raulv98yeah I was looking for a phone case for my s25 and a case would be 70 euros and another dealbreaker is that they don’t have a other option to pay than paypal or credit card
@raulv98 Same for South America, not worth it
When part 2?
I'd appreciate it if you made it clear that it was just part 1 of multiple, I got to about 1/3 of the video when I realized it was just about choosing phones, which in my opinion is a lot less interesting than the actual 30 days of use and conclusion.
Already updated :)
I mean it is pretty interesting to see the thought process of picking a phone when you have all the choices, where before they have only ever had what Apple told them they wanted.
Agreed
So true
@yanipro3978 And at the end they didn't even tell us who got what! For me, waste of 30 min.
Where the sequel at?
Absolutely best one yet Dbrand well done 😂 1:39
11:50 quick share exists, ever android phone supports it, windows supports it, why wasn't it even mentioned? people use it all the time on my university
Ikr I was raging that they would say that there's no airdrop type feature on samsung and Google phones
@AQG_EDWARDSCOOL and they cited the "airdrop" from oppo that only works with a few brands, while quick share works on every android device, not only samsung and google.
16:51 ""we enlarge battery size this year, it's gonna be the greatest iphone ever made", of course like it supposed to be the best one"
Part 2?
6:03 "It has a little bit more megapixel, a little bit other updated settings". Ah yes, the classic I kind of know what I'm talking about but don't know enough to explain it.
He is minimum wage sales person
It is better but the reasoning is pretty bad
@私は神を信じます he is not... that's a joke right?
wait, is there a raw format mode for the iphone? i hate the HEIC format, png please
6:35 Please let this be a new meme format. Double face palm ftw. 😂
30 days challenge they said..
Linus went cheap and excluded Z Fold 6
If my dystopian plastic slab turns on to me it's good enough
13:45 how could he not recognised the Hasselblad iconic orange shutter button ?
edit : how could you call orange "less red" lmao
1:00 That back wall is a flex and a half xD
For next videos, dont every take that lady.
I hate to come back to this channel several times a week looking for part 2. Won’t swear cuz I love Canada 🇨🇦🇺🇦
But guddam Linus, the effect of disappointing expectations is through the roof.
It’s betta be good Pt2
I actually loved this episode. Very well constructed with different people wanting different things from the experience. Also the fact it was real people choosing a phone, rather than being sold on any particular "feature", like Lisa immediately saying the pen was a bit "douchey". Felt very real.
