Just an observation Linus, but I would recommend that you get better insulation between your garage and the area above. if it's connected to the house (which I assume it is based on the fact that it's insulated at all), having a poor insulation layer is gonna make that room cold. also if you improve the insulation it would be good to also air seal that ceiling while your up there, because garages are subject to all sorts of fumes that can lower your in-home air quality.

Props to Linus on Being Safe, The Electrician can loose his license because of working on live wire without proper equipment, arc flash burns are the worse.
Rory Christel he might be a great guy, but his electrical practices are way off. One, he should of isolated the entire switchboard before removing the panel, two, was was not using the correct screw drivers.
daniel5620 regular klien screwdrivers are fine on 120VAC, it's more than sufficient insulation for that voltage. And lol at isolating a breaker panel, how green are you?
@@daniel5620 Uncommon in Canada to turn off panels when working on them. Uninsulated screwdrivers are also the norm here. Both practices are changing slowly. We rely heavily on our CSA steeltoe boots which are 10000v rated as long as they have the omega symbol present.
Daniel M honestly, you're not using your boots. Pretty much any pair of thick rubber soles would work at these voltages. I can grab a live 277VAC wire while wearing my Vibram sole McRae's and still not get hit, as long as I'm mindful about where the rest of my body is.
Yes, the Chevy Volt is discontinued. I purchased a used 2017 with around 20,000 miles on it and less than 1000 were gas. My new job is 40 miles away. New Job offered to install a charging port for me. I might get a second and in 2 years, I plan on getting a 2019.
Linus. If you still have the Volt you should know that it is not a hybrid but a full electric car known as an Extended Range Electric Vehicle. The gas generator only supplies electricity to run the electric motors in the car when required.

I have the same car, same year, same color! Just FYI: the stock charger is capable of level 2 charging with a cheap $60 adapter. Should add that in and save people some money! No need for a large charger.
Still though, if you're going to invest in an electric car and intend to eventually replace it with another electric, it makes sense to install the permanent charger on its own breaker. Plus you won't forget to bring the stock charger with you on longer journeys because you just keep it in the car.
I had an electrician install my Clipper Creek level 2 charger for my Chevy Volt. I switched from an electric range to a gas one because I prefer them and that freed up a 30 amp 220V breaker on my panel. The job only took an hour and so far so good....!!

Thank you sandalguy, very cool
Lol

Nitride Omg, that’s so dark
As a professional electrician, I approve of this electrician. Also he's fun af and does well on camera
I can grab a live 277VAC wire while wearing my Vibram sole McRae's and still not get hit, as long as I'm mindful about where the rest of my body is.
totally forgot your on 120 try that on 250 in the uk and its all kinds of fun

Yes, the Chevy Volt is discontinued. I purchased a used 2017 with around 20,000 miles on it and less than 1000 were gas. It seems like the previous owner was a "high-miler (obsessed with getting max electric range by frugal acceleration and breaking)" and the friction brakes felt like they had almost never been used. My new job is 40 miles away. New Job offered to install a charging port for me. I might get a second and in 2 years, I plan on getting a 2019.

How many of Brian's tools did Linus steal by putting them in his back pocket?
Maby all his tools
well he is an electrician so he probably stole more tools from linus xD
Is it Brian or Bryan?
They didn't pay that contractor enough to deal with Linus... smh
FOR REAL
Nah you use contractor pricing. I do the work and you watch +10%, I do the work and you suggest things +15%, I do the work and you help +25%.
Not like the next person that sees someone called "Brian" that knows of this video will get him work or anything like that.
He seemed to be having a great time, and he's paid hourly... I wouldn't worry about it too much.
Linus. If you still have the Volt you should know that it is not a hybrid but a full electric car known as an Extended Range Electric Vehicle. The gas generator only supplies electricity to run the electric motors in the car when required.
We want more Brian!

Little "nerd-fact": One of the founders of Siemens was Werner von Siemens and he is considered the founder of modern electrical engineering, especially the electrical energy technology. As an honour, the unit of electric conductance, electric susceptance and electric admittance, Siemens (S), is named after him.

Plus you won't forget to bring the stock charger with you on longer journeys because you just keep it in the car.
linus seems like a really funny dude to work on projects and hang out with
When linus was cutting the cable with the stanley knife and his wrist directly behind it I am pretty sure my heart stopped for a second.
Also when he was putting the screws in with his palm behind the board
9:40 YOUR HAND! I get that you know the length of the screw and thickness of the wood, BUT DAMN IT! YOUR HAND!
That was very cringy and scary to watch. god damn
I had an electrician install my Clipper Creek level 2 charger for my Chevy Volt. I switched from an electric range to a gas one because I prefer them and that freed up a 30 amp 220V breaker on my panel. The job only took an hour and so far so good....!!
