    These are the sort of fundamentals missing in most martial arts classes - superb.

    Thank you :) People don't see the effort you have to go through to progress and just want it given to them. The ones that are willing to put in the hard work are the ones that get the rewards :)

    Dude you and your tutorials are really awesome.
    I've been doing kick boxing mainly but your stuff has answered so many of my questions, helped me progress and improve my skills. This year I'm starting taekwondo and it is fair to say your stuff made me want to do it that much more.
    Thanks and greetings from France!

      GingerNinjaTrickster I have a question for you now ^^
      It's been a week and a half that I've started Taekwondo, I love it. But my kick boxing teacher (who specializes in French boxing but also does kick boxing and full contact lessons) keeps telling me training in TKD is useless for kick boxing due to the low guard and side stance plus the constant guard shifting.
      What is your opinion on that matter? Even though it is clear that Taekwondo is a whole new sport and must be considered independantly from the other martial arts, can it improve ones kickboxing skills?

    • @GingerNinjaTrickster
      @GingerNinjaTrickster  10 лет назад +3

      Dunk1905 It depends on your instructor and it's usually Olympic Sparring that tarnishes Taekwondo's Image of being a proper martial art but sparring is different from training for effective fighting. It all depends on what you learn. We are more traditional and enjoy the real fighting side as well as sparring and advanced moves at the same time :)

    I'm glad you are happy with them and that's great :) WTF is usually more geared towards competition sparring (Olympic) and ITF is more traditional and focuses on self defence a bit more. This obviously depends on how the instructor decides to teach though :)

    Been at TAGB TKD for a few years and have just reach red belt (at 44 yo) There is generally a fundemental lack of the kind of mechanical explanations GNT injects in all classes i have been in. I watch these videos over and over again. Ur basically my shadow instructor Aaron! All the best!

    I'm 5' 10 1/2 ". That depends on what your strengths are. If you are taller than your opponents it's good to keep your range as you will have the reach advantage but this depends on whether you are quick with your legs and strong enough to keep them back.

    Thanks for the video, I have no problem with my front kicks holding but it's my sidekicks that I'll need to work more on balance for class. I'll start doing these exercises this week. Sidekicks are the worse for me for some reason, I blame my flat feet.

    Another great tutorial. I often use your posts as a technical manual on how things should be done. They have helped me no end. Keep up the great work! My kids love the gymnastics and martial arts together - Spiderman is a great hit. I always tell them to stick at the training and they will be able to do that one day - a great militarization for younger students. Thanks Robert A.
