Did you notice the "pike" jumping out the water was actually a barbel taking flight being attacked by a pike? Pretty cool. I caught soo many fish this session too many to even put in the video! Hope you enjoy!
I’m loving your videos man. I grew up fishing for pike and perch in small rivers in south-east England in the 70s and 80s. I was off on my bike after school and all weekend and it was happy times. I left England 32 years ago and have missed Pike fishing ever since. No pike here! Trout fishing has never had the same appeal for me. Tragically when I visited the UK 3 years ago I went back to some of those rivers with my sons and found them horribly silted up and destroyed by housing developments. Heart breaking… Enjoy your fishing and keep up the great work with the informative and hands-on videos. Cheers.
Great video again Chris , plenty of action and awesome Perch. Your camera caught the water boiling perfectly, that fish was lucky to escape. Perfect litte pike . Take care mate all the best from Downunder 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Wonderful video .. thank you for the tips, entertainment and the releases. A thought .. treble hooks (even small ones) and deep hook sets on active fish can do significant damage. I've been crimping the barbs and even snipping off one of the hooks on each treble. I've certainly lost a few due to the configuration but hook removals are infinitely easier. Thanks again, cheers.
Here in the Northeast US, we catch a lot of big perch while fishing for largemouth and smallmouth bass. It's rare to fish a river with trout sized raps and catch perch around here. Anyways, awesome video! Love seeing different fishing from around the world.
I reckon you are gonna be the next matt hayes pal , won't be long before the telly is calling, we need a new fishing guru on the box good luck with the success 👍
I've been watching your channel for a while now. You certainly have some beautiful waters around your neck of the woods, plenty of good healthy fish. I'm down in Cornwall where coarse fishing is very different, all our rivers are salmon and trout waters, you have to have a salmon license and all the banks are owned so it's difficult to find places to fish without paying through the nose for the privilege. Keep up the good work.
Very nice! Just the more, because Your stream is very similar to our one here in northern Germany. Pebbles, gravel and sand. Thing is, that our stream has loads of sand cause of the farming, mostly of maize for bio gas (govermental financed) and so possible gravel beds for spawning of barbel, trout etc. are rarely found, unfortunately. I´m a bit envy for Your gin clear, gravely stream... Excuse my faulty english, please!
Down in Australia, red fin/ English perch are a pest, so I send them back with a kink in neck. This feeds the native turtles, yabbies and water rats. But good size ones I take home for a feed, I consider them freshwater whiting, the saltwater whiting is an exceptional tasting species.
Mate you need to come fish for perch here in Aust, ours start at 2lbs, my P.B is 1.89kgs...yes KILOS!! My mates is 2.1kgs..so well over 3lbs yeah. And pple call em rubbish redfin and toss em!!
Cracking video mate. In Australia we call them Redfin ( reddies) we get them in lakes in prolific numbers. They would have to be the best eating freshwater fish.
I used to do quite well with the old Ondex spoons with the red wool tag over the treble, too many jack and chub of course , but the bigger perch like ‘em !
Lovely Perch, as kids we used to fish for them on Mill lodges around Lancashire, ( I’m 67 and all our rivers were sadly polluted. ) we also used to catch what we called a “ Stone Perch” it was a Perch but it was sort of silvery rainbow colours obviously some some sort of hybrid, I’ve googled it but can’t find any reference to it. Then the whole country got hit by Perch disease and catching one was a rare event for years, I must have been in my teens then.
The waters moving through a bit faster now but still gin clear, always a good watch with impressive amount of catches 🎣, keep up the great videos and thanks again
I’d like your advice on how you choose a spot for perch, and how you angle your casts etc to make sure you cover the water and increase chances for success. Would help a novice fisherman like me!
hey great video really enjoyed looking at it was wondering if you know is it ok to catch perch at 17 meters when I was catching them at 17 meters there was something showing up in there mouth don't think it was there belly but not sure
Chris can I ask you for some advice on the type of braided line i just got a zebco rod and a okuma ceymar multiplier reel and I got 39lb braid for pike fishing do you think it’s strong enough
Another small hard bait that works great for perch is a very unknown Finnish brand called Hali and the model is called “Tumppi”, if you can find this for a few euros (found one for 2 euro) and has worked great for me, fished it for 3 days and got 4 eater sized (500 grams+ (would be >1lb))
@mac148 I agree perch are a really fantastic eating fish. Back in the 1950s we fished for the table, things were much harder back then. Eels and perch were the favoued target species.
Great video Chris!☺ Those Perch you caught reminded me of the fish I used to catch on my local small river here in Leicestershire, when I was younger. Autumn is always a good time for chasing the better Perch and those bigger specimens didn't disappoint, but they were all such pristine and well marked fish...no matter what size. Fantastic colours. Get in another sesh like this mate, before the first chill of Winter really hits. I reckon there might be a 3 plus pounder out there with your name on it.☺ Tight lines.🎣👍
Well done I always use a trace even tho am spinning for perch as I lost a massive pike when lure fishing for perch I was gutted for days so after that I always use a trace
Great video fella, would love to see a video using drop shot method and bread for chub on a river. Works a great on on the river don near me in Doncaster 👍
Are these lure sinking or just slightly buoyant - can't find similar online to buy - please help Chris! Love your videos - up here in Suffolk we have alot of good perch but need searching for and I am aiming to get another 3lb+ this season! Also lucky to be a syndicate member on a carp lake where no one really fishes for the perch : except me ;-)
Do you think the perch are pristine. I saw 4 with bad tail and fin damage caused by being held in your landing net in shallow water with net folded over them. fish welfare must come before personal vanity.
Wow , here in the states we have the same species , but I catch them in the pre spawn, video hooked on oc , nanticoke river , 12 ft depth on live small minnows , great eating !
What a joy you have those rivers so close to the city How do you see that you take care of them and respect them? and the very pretty perch greetings from Spain
Did you notice the "pike" jumping out the water was actually a barbel taking flight being attacked by a pike? Pretty cool. I caught soo many fish this session too many to even put in the video! Hope you enjoy!
You are an excellent fisherman.
Mustve been a nice pike
Wow! pretty rare to catch that on film! nice vid again chris 👍
When hot wings video?
We do enjoy! Thank you
Greetings from Switzerland
Liking the fact of you explaining retrieve etc, lot of youtubers don't, really helps!!!
TGF is a master angler, so versatile and knowledgeable. If I could go fishing with anyone, it would be him.

Yea the council destroy our in lands for housing. Living by the sea would be better housing..
Thank you, Chris. It really got me back to lure fishing after 30years.
I simply cannot believe the fish you're catching from such skinny water. Water I would have passed by, its open my eyes, really has. Well done mate.
Slay day nice vid Pal…..Such a delicious fish too!
My kind of fishing vid well done
I always love going once in a year to the small rivers around my hometown and catch those perchs, always nice sensations
Fantastic Chris, you never ever disappoint, what a dedicated fisherman you are, thank you for sharing this with me .
Calm down bud
@@blairlamond3266I've caught a couple yellow perch back in April with beetle spin
You really enjoy what you are doing .Your smile says it all.

What an amazing experience it must be getting perch in such clear water. To die for!
Stumbled across some of your videos a week or two back and ended up watching loads. This is another great video Chris, been waiting for this all week.
An amazing session!!! And loving the tips on retrieving too!👍🏻👍🏻😎 can’t wait for the next one 🎣🎣
brilliant always great how you show the rods reels and tackle and how to catch great uploads.
If i could picture a perfect Perch session then it would be the one you just had.

It's hard to beat a big old sergeant! They are some cracking fish. Well done!

It's the same here all those waters would be owned by syndicates and it's impossible to get permission to fish them.

Brilliant fishing, wish we had productive rivers like that round here
That’s me decided then for tomorrow, small river and small cranks for perch 😀
Great vid as usual 👍

You threw back one of the best eating fish out there, yellow perch are in the walleye family !
Your unhooking is an art.

Nice one Chris 👍 ready for the next one now 😄
Cracking video mate. In Australia we call them Redfin ( reddies) we get them in lakes in prolific numbers. They would have to be the best eating freshwater fish.
I tell ya, at times this makes me wish I lived in Europe where large pike and perch can just be found in small streams.
Hi Chris I watch you most times 😁
Loving the content. I've always dreamt of fishing in the uk
What a great day of fishing! Fun vid sir... Liked and subscribed!Tight lines my friend!
This is the very reason why You should take a Keepnet to the forgotten Pond. Lovely 2lb Perch to make the day.
Well done champion..I just enjoy watching you.

I'm just catching up to this video, that 2lbr. was a really nice perch for what I'm used to. I'd be real happy to get a 2lb perch.

You wont get as many bites using a trace puts them off
great video mate. where abouts was this?
Best looking and eating fish around.
Over here in the States, perch are considered excellent eating.
They're also quite a bit bigger, anything below 2lb is pretty challenging to debone.
Really NIce video mate !!
love it when they crush them !
en i really like the river..
Cracking session, you make it look so easy lol.......
I'd love to bring you Bass fishing over in the states mate... You'd love it...
Just one question. Why do you keep the fish in the net? Awsome content and beutifull perch thouh
Excellent video again Chris you never ever disappoint, did you catch any brown trout as a by catch, river looked a bit trouty

How u have patience i dont have a clue, how long do u give it till u say ull go home if not caught? Or how long in each spot
Holy crappp that perch is giant

You release those fish after the tiny net? Perch is good eating, if the water is clean enough!
Pike was stunning :)
Very good session
👍👍👍
Really want to do some barbel and pike fishing in Scotland. What equipment would you recommend?
Great video fella, would love to see a video using drop shot method and bread for chub on a river.
Works a great on on the river don near me in Doncaster 👍
I didn't even know perch could get as big as the 2lbs you caught. I get a ton but they're all fairly small or medium size.
Nice perch! Love catching them on crankbaits.. I catch them on worms too but they always seem to swallow it
OMG 🤩 how this possible
Amazing fishing
1st class perches
