Fantastic video, thank you. When I was a teenager I used to read books on fishing to learn a bit about the techniques. These videos are such a great learning tool 😊👍👏
Cen seen a few like this now. Once one has food (your lure) they all want a bit! Even hooked a 4lb chub one day and a big perch and another chub almost followed him in the net
I love watching these underwater action vids of predatory fish taking the bait. They're, like, swimming by, then they spot the lure, or whatever, then they zone-in on it; focus hard on it, trying to decide whether it's dinner, or not; then zone-out everything else out; focus even more intensively, build up the aggression necessary to go in for the kill; then, with blind determination - it's whoosh, and bang! Then it's 'cool' out the window, as they get whipped up into the great unknown (that's the fish great unknown, not the human great unknown) and their facial expression - even though fish are not widely know for their facial expressiveness, instantly registers one of the realisation that it has just been fooled, embarrassed, stripped of its dignity, daft, silly, pitiful, no longer in control of its own destiny, at the mercy of whomever holds the rod. Great vid. Chris. Looking forward to the next one. Raymondo.
Great little pike. my smallest pike was the length of a cigarette (that's what I measured it with), it was perfection in miniature really bright green and very pale in-between. Caught on single white maggot.
Ace content as usual. Love sitting down to watch you videos with my 9 son and 6 year old daughter. Though it is getting expensive as they both now 'need' specialist lure rods! 😅 Cheers
Cool vid mate, i've had a few jack pike and loads of perch recently on the canal, it's awesome with the water clarity, you can see them follow your lure 🎣
Chris you make the MOST INTERESTING and ENJOYABLE videos out there, can you please make a short video showing your camera and recording equipment as your picture and sound quality is superb, also where are all the cyclists and dog walkers? on the Llangollen canal by me it’s one every few minutes, not to mention the thirty plus boats coming through in an evening session (I’m just jealous!!!) Thanks once again for the best videos out there and really appreciate the care you take handling your fish it sets a good example to up and coming young anglers Graham.
Greetings from Australia. I’ll definitely give this method a go, it’s winter and they’re very slow at the moment in Melbourne. I usually catch them on jig spinner with pro cure butt juice on pretty much any plastic during spring and summer. But lately they’re so slow
Hey, Chris, superb video as usual, Sir! How would you go about fishing the chocolate milkshake water of the canals here in Warwickshire? The grand union canal must have 3 inches (7.62 cm) of clarity, on a good day, so what would be your method of ultra light lure fishing, please, mate.
Amazing video, some great footage you've managed to capture there, good effort! Love this kind of fishing mooching along the canal by bike, exactly what I get up to but with my dogs in tow. Keep it up mate!
Great video GF. Wish I was as good as you. I just got back into fishing as now retired. I have been out to the Grand union at least 6 times drop shoting ,but not a bite yet , I must be doing something wrong…🙁
Hi ginger fisherman, love your video! I'm a predator man myself, love goin for them big pike n perch, is that the stretch of the Calder navigation in wakefield? Looks familiar
Am i the only person who notices the other large perch following the one you caught near end of video. Never seen nothing like it. Thanks for the tip also about just giving the bait a little shake. I will try on my next zander trip. Great content
Been a bit blustery recently so not managed to get out n fish. I have a Campark action camera cheap n cheerful battery life appalling so I run it on a power bank. The app allows wifi link to phone and can view what the camera is seeing via an app, do Gopro's do that? Wondered if they do what the reception would be like if camera was dunked if any for live feed. Watched lots of these vids, no canals anywhere near me, just the murky River Tees.
I don't know what canals you fish but I've rarely seen canal water so clear. The only place I've ever seen was the Llangollen canal where you can see shoals of roach.
Hello Ginger, I like your vids. I like the way you build up your vids. I have a question. I think you capture your vids with a go pro? What camera do you use? I like the under water footage from the perch . Keep on fishing man. Tight lines. greetings from the Netherlands.
Quality as always Chris 👍 Any recommendations on a decent ultra light drop shotting rod, I'm currently using the Abu Garcia devil spin 2-8gr but I'm after something with a more sensitive and responsive tip? Any suggestions welcome, cheers

A cheeky little chap at 04:10. It's great to see predators in their early stages.
5:36 that perch fave was priceless being dragged up out the water weeeeeee 😂😂
Fantastic video, thank you. When I was a teenager I used to read books on fishing to learn a bit about the techniques. These videos are such a great learning tool 😊👍👏

Great video again Chris. Excellent tuition! Appreciated
14:24 another nice perch actually followed the one you hooked, pretty cool to see.

Very very clever Chris great work thanks

Awesome session Chris! Great underwater footage as always and some cracking perch bud! 🎣👌
Nice video mate , love the big strpeys
Amazing video, thank you. We have a famous perch canal here in sweden and the perch can be so hard and spooked, i will apply your tips!
THANK YOU! been waiting for someone to do this video. Only ever caught perch on the maggot and now venturing into lures
What's with the capital letters?
One of the best channels on RUclips! Keep it up! ❤
Great little pike. my smallest pike was the length of a cigarette (that's what I measured it with), it was perfection in miniature really bright green and very pale in-between. Caught on single white maggot.
I caught one the size of a pencil. The damn thing wasn't even as big as the lure!
@@thepikeangler2022 they're awesome when they're that size , immaculate without single mark on them .

One very informative piece of review 😮
Hi Ginger! Really nice video with some awesome footage! Keep them coming!
The underwater footage confirms the reason you get a lot of plucks and tugs but don't contact.
I've started wearing Polaroids constantly and the amount you can see that dont connect or just follow. 16 follows in 1hour from pike
perch hunt by nipping the tail out of their prey so it can't escape hence the tail biting if the lure
@@thepikeangler2022 I wear them on clear water venues and yes the number of flows is really quite surprising.
@@tattoedmat The smaller perch do, but from what I've seen the larger perch tend to just engulf the bait.
Inspiring footage mate, great tips too! gonna get out on my local canal tomorrow and try this method👍
Just love Perch!
