Your videography is absolutely brilliant. It’s very easy to sit and watch without paying much attention to the amount of time these must take to film and edit.
Another great video of a great session. I don't know if you actually get any income from your RUclips channel Chris, but if you do, I'm pleased for you because you absolutely deserve it - your love for angling and the respect and care for the fish you catch shines through, you impart shedloads of really useful knowledge, and your filming, editing and production skills are top notch and presumably self-taught? Best of all, you inspire people to get off their arses and go out and have a go. I ever meet you in a pub, a pint is definitely coming your way, cheers.
Thank's for the kind words buddy it's very much appreciated. This is actually my full time job and has been for almost 3 years now. Best job in the world but it's none stop. A lot of people don't know this but I actually took media production and conservation courses at college. The aim was to go into Wildlife documentary production which was my dream. So thinking about it I'm almost doing what I'd set out to do at 16
Superb. I had my third 3lb Perch in 51 years of fishing 2 days ago and it was a perfectly conditioned stunner. They are special fish. Two of those three were caught on worm the first one on dead bait.
Exciting adventure! Subscribed to your channel and eagerly awaiting more videos. It's thrilling to see your pursuit of big perch using lures only, especially when you hit the honey hole unexpectedly. Can't wait to learn more about your tactics and experiences targeting
Another great session again Chris. Lovely Perch from the Canal. As we all know Perch do not like bright light. And It Is even worse If the sun comes out. So always look for anything over hanging the water, producing a nice dark area for them to congregate In. Plus bait fish will also go these places for protection as well. Keep 'Em Coming.
I must admit, even though we don't have perch where I live (Alaska) it's so much fun watching your interesting videos. I fished for them as a child in the western U.S. but the biggest one I've ever landed was about the size of your smaller one. Rock on ginger guy!
Fellow Ginger here. I grew up catching Yellow Perch in Upstate New York, in the US. We lived in the Finger Lakes region on Keuka Lake. When I was a kid, the water was so clear that you could see the bottom clearly in 20 feet of water. We could jig for em by site. Awesome memories. Thanks for taking me back in time. I'd love to fish that bridge. Awesome spot!
@@MrHemp55 well, I live on the other side of the planet. So, I will, for sure, never find it. Besides, if he gave locations, people would ruin his spots.
I absolutely love the SG4 series Rods from Savage gear. I have multiple versions of them including a light game travel rod. Just phenomenal rods. Great video again man! Love watching your videos 💪🏻👍🏻…unfortunately it’s closed season in the Netherlands now 😊
Fantastic,l ! perch is my favourite fish to catch, but being more of a fly fisherman these days, I haven't caught one in years, but my local reservoir has been spilling a few into the river I mainly fish, so hopefully it won't be to long before I have another one if these beauties in my net
Blimey !!! That was superb..... Alas, I live miles from a canal.....Have to wait until June 16th, and then it's lure fishing all season on my local Nene.....Champing at the bit to say the least....
Great video mate ...and lovely fish! I'm a member on that stretch too now but haven't had much luck at all, as yet. I only started lure fishing about 6 weeks ago, so still learning a lot. I'll hopefully get back down there tomorrow afternoon so fingers crossed 🤞 Also I've met up with Bill Hurst a couple of times and I'm impressed by what he catches on micro lures! He gave me a handful to try, last week and it's surprising what shows an interest in something so small! 😁
Some beautiful perch and a few Nike jacks but Ireland is very similar and I still haven't got a nearly 2lb one but determination I'll get on thanks for the ideas 💡 happy fishing pal
On the subject of fishing perch in Ireland, as a boy, I fished on Lough Ennel Mullingar, using mainly spinning lures or floats with worms on a single hook. Brought back great memories. Many thanks Chris. PS Lake perch are very good to eat albeit very boney!
I don’t rlly go lure fishing but I went float fishing today in the grand union canal caught 4 perch on worms in the same sport decent size ones love your videos have a great day ❤❤❤

Used to fish on the Grand Union Canal by the Malt Shovel in Iver. Caught some grand old perch just below the bridge using a silver mepps rigged with a single barbless hook, or a devon minnow. I had a 6' spinning rod with a Mitchell 408. Great combo but not much use if a pike grabbed the lure.

I caught my PB in a canal here in the netherlands. 45cm 1+kilo. Upgraded my PB that day 3 times. First was 38cm second was 42 and my PB from 45cm. Caught my first ever zander and had my first ever pike on the line. Can't wait for the season to open up.
Awesome session. Took me years to catch a 2lb+ canal perch, then had 2 in an hour from the same spot, biggest was 2lb12oz, they were backed up by 2 more fish just under the 2lb mark. Was probably the best hour of fishing I've ever had. Theres something really special about a real big perch.
Near me is the river medway freshwater and there is no fish left in there, lots of seals have entered in the river from the tidal section. They have distroid the fish
Great session Chris like always Week ago accidentally i beat my pb perch during session for pike I think i was big for city channel Was 43cm and 1.413kg i was absolutely amazed
Another great vid thanks Chris .. any chance you could another underwater camera vid on the canal please ? I only fish canals and your last underwater vids on how different species react to different baits was fascinating
