I think he is referring specifically to tyranny in western democracies. Hong Kong, whilst afforded many democratic privileges in the Joint Declaration, is ultimately an integral part of a repressive one-party dictatorship. Unless you were kidding yourself that the regime that okay'd the Tiananmen Square Massacre would respect democracy and freedom of speech in Hong Kong, a move towards tyranny was always a given.

Sure it might want to completely eliminate certain groups as a priority. But if the majority of the citizens were to organize as a militia the same way a military does then it would be almost impossible to make them surrender because like you said the only other option they would have would be to just kill all resistance indiscriminately which would be counter productive for them in the long run because humans are basically a commodity for tyrannical entities. Morgan actually ignored Ben’s reply the first time and started accusing Ben of bullying him with the topic of “standing over dead children’s graves.” Ben then gave the same reply towards the end of the debate and provided historical examples to reinforce his position, which Piers provided no rebuttal to. Piers was purposely talking over Ben to avoid hearing the facts, which typical of CNN.

Affordable organic food is long gone from their shelves, which is 3rd world standard. In Europe, I have met some Americans who believe Eastern Europeans are slim because they don't have enough food (have they heard of good non gmo food, healthy lifestyle, free healthacare etc). They started fake wars with no evidence, when even a penguin in Antarctic knows its all about oil:) and create laws, which justify all types of guns (including assault riffles), which kill their own kids...No country is perfect, but US seems on the way down. It's quite simple in this debate, if you cant stop mass shootings, ban all guns because this problem in the UK does not exist. You know why? If you can guess you are a genius (irony ). I love the diversity in US, but I would rather stay in Europe where our conservative thinking makes some sense. And I can agree with you that the US isn't perfect in all areas but it's still the greatest country overall and that's because of its history and its foundation in freedom rather than the government being in control. Other countries had more and more power over to the government including things like healthcare......such control which will often backfire even though it looks good in the short term. The U.S. and industrial revolution which shaped the world. Contributions such as advancement of the automobile. Inventions galore. Airplanes, space exploration. Moon landing. Military power that has rescued countless nations. Including Europe. Many places wouldn't even exist if it wasn't for the United States that lifted up those countries and has allowed them to even continue to exist. You can thank the U.S. for many blessings you boast about. Yes, the U.S. is on the way down every time it copies policies of liberal Nations like those in Europe. When you mention guns you are buying right into the political narrative that school shootings are a major issue. That is completely absurd. Between 50 and 100 children might be affected by that in a year and it's all we hear about on the news for weeks every time it happens. It happens in gun free zones each time . Places in which guns are already banned. More kids die in European countries from automobile crashes. Way more. And I don't hear anyone in Europe talking about banning automobiles.

It's hard to argue we're the best just bc of history, that's super lame - if you ask me. We had Donald Trump as POTUS. We are definitely not the best / don't currently have the best leadership. The only things we are number 1 in are GDP (yet we as citizens don't profit from it [paid education and healthcare]), the military, and we have the highest number of incarcerated. We are also number 1 in arms sales, have highest drug demand in the world, and pollute and waste the most per capita.
Frankly I think US exceptionalism gets in the way of actually becoming exceptional. So many think we're the best already that they can't afford to research better ways to do things around here. Objectively, there are many ways, and it's laughably obvious.

It certainly draws a lot of immigration. It drives a lot of tourism. A lot of people want to talk about the United States and they want to go there and they want to experience it. I remember when I initially watched Piers Morgan debating Alex Jones and Ben Shapiro. I was supporting Alex Jones and Ben Shapiro on these topics. But after witnessing the number of mass shootings that occurred in the last few years my stance has changed.
Banning guns prevents normal people from getting them. If your a criminal and a law says you can’t buy a gun why would you just follow that law? They would get it illegally because they are criminals and don’t follow the law.
Killing kids in a school is also illegal, and yet we still have the issue. So explain how banning gun will save kids? We have already banned school shootings and yet.......
I never agreed with Shapiro when I first watched this a few years ago but now I see his point fully.
